Love this show and this channel. So entertaining especially after I learn contestants personalities from multiple viewings. Greetings from Pittsburgh Pennsylvania USA !!!
They probably took their phones for this task because they have clocks. They take their phones for some of the tasks. That's probably something they would have had to ask Alex to do, and it was up to him to say yes or no.
Please tell me I'm not the only one screaming at my screen that the larger they blow them up, the easier they are to pop because the balloon rubber is THINNER?
Ed Gamble is the undisputed world champion of blowing up balloons and popping them in a ten minute time limit. Seriously impressive. This is right up there with Victoria sitting on a cake in the category of "Contestants doing better than possibly anyone else in the entire world could have done"
Having listened to the episode of Off Menu and learning that Victoria always brings food with her in case she doesn’t like what’s being served, when she left after reading the task I knew she had brought a cake with her. Also, why didn’t anybody try making a pancake for that task?
@@TaskmasterMN I guess it’s stupid to say “why didn’t anyone think of this obvious solution” in the context of this show but hand on heart the pancake idea came to me instantly
Yes, but the key point was that no balloon was inflated after the 10 minutes. "Pop as many balloons as possible" didn't mean that a balloon could not be deflated by other means.
I guess it depends on your definition of “popping” a balloon. If the balloon deflates because of a puncture that you put into it, I would still say that you “popped” the balloon, even though it wasn’t a grand, abrupt burst.
@@TheRubySpider it really doesn't depend on your definition of popping a balloon at all. The full wording of the task: "Inflate, tie and pop as many balloons as possible in 10 minutes. Once you pop your first balloon, you may not inflate any more balloons. If any of your balloons are still inflated after 10 minutes you're disqualified. Most popped balloons wins." The key sentence here is the third one. If any balloons are "still inflated". Essentially: the way this one should be scored, the two balloons that didn't pop shouldn't be counted as popped balloons. But as they are not inflated, they don't disqualify him either. He got nearly 3 times as many as the next best contestant. I'm not sure if the two that didn't pop were counted, but it wouldn't have affected the outcome.
@@nadnerb2k But my point is that we disagree on whether those two balloons are popped. You say that they aren’t popped, and I say that they are. Because we have different definitions of popping a balloon. Hence, it depends on your definition.
Make and post a video on the topic of 'Inflate Tie and Pop the Farts', because farts are like balloons in that they have an outer latex skin measuring 0.00001mm, and are pre-filled with highly pressurised air and gas.
I have a hard time standing her as well, in almost every task... Sometimes negativity can be played for laughs or be subtle/funny in other ways, but her anger is clearly pathological, and really depressing to see. Notice she even says as much ("What's wrong with me?") when she tells a sympathetic audience to f*ck off -- right after sarcastically voicing both the task and her in-studio response to Alex. But she's still wildly popular, and certainly has her moments and her very own style. All the best to her career (and emotional stability). This is a show that can bring out the best OR worst in people... :P And I guess it's "good television" to see folks act like pricks? Whatever else, TM is glorious TV.
I loved Alex's admission of "I helped David in almost every task cause I know it wouldn't help him for shit."

For anyone wondering, this is from the episode named after the line "Don't Like Them Go Bang"

I feel the same way about Bridget Christie
I love their show.
The original is still the best.

I'm surprised no one asked Alex to just set a timer on his phone and leave the volume on.
You wouldn’t know the time til it’s too late though?
@@qaazz Why in God's name would you set a 10 minute timer?
Or just tell Siri to start one
You'd be disqualified. You'd still be relying on a time measuring device
@@cancerino666 No it said you cannot look at a clock or any time measuring device.

Serious imbalance in the poppability of these balloons.

More more!!!! Please 😁

Just realized they could have made the crew look at the clock for them.

Quantity over quality
Well they need to do it in 10 minutes... So smaller and find something sharp is far better
It's a balance. If you spend more time blowing them up big enough to be easy to pop, then you'll blow up fewer balloons.
It’s easier to tie smaller balloons though, along with being faster to blow them up...

The episode (s9 e9) got the title "Don't like them go bang" after David's comment in this very task. :)
