Also you might look at wilwood peddle assembly where you can put 2 brake cylinders and a clutch cylinder on a hanging peddles and adjustable brake bias. It would mount inside the car freeing up the engine compartment
Now that's what I call Kleeeeeen. That looks like a pretty good fit to me. Nice to see everyone joining in and giving you a hand when needed. Roll on the next episode!!!. Cheers, Bob in the UK.
Cleaning tips. There are degreasers and expensive cleaners for automotive use but you can use cheap household cleaners to sometimes better effect. Oven cleaner for baked on grease and oil. Automatic dishwasher powder for general grease and grime around an engine bay (this stuff eats alloy) Toilet cleaner to remove corrosion on alloy and steel ( some are better on steel others on alloy depending on type of acid in them) Or white vinegar.
Make sure you upgrade your oil pump , stock ones are known to fail on constant high rpms and for drifting applications your going to be there all the time . Better be safe then sorry.
Way too many safety issues in your shop V ! Steel toe shoes bud ! A proper quality engine hoist and lift chains. Man you gotta save yourself from injuries !
There’s a lot of love for the LS and they are so popular because it’s a lot of power right on the box in a small, confined package. The LS fits almost anywhere.
You DO NOT want to move the engine forward. If anything, you want to move it back more (but I realize you may not want to cut the car up that much). There are shifter mod kits, and complete shifter kits, that move the shifter forward or back several inches.
For an easier install, you should try to use the lift to remove the front subframe an install the engine lowering the car into it with the subframe, that way is more easy and it actually fits.
Awesome yeah the engine mount should be easy to make but just mok it up first, as might need the sump to see where it sits, plus as someone said there is a kit to shift the grear stick , but you need those things to see where they go
Jeremy told you no lies- the Tremec TR 6060 is a bullet proof box- easily capable of more horsepower than anyone needs on the street. Your plan with the shifter sounds very doable. I'll be here to see it happen!
Upgrade oil pump and get rid displacement on demand so swap lifters and cam. They make a DOD delete kit and thats what you need.Great swap. This will be awesome
When your doing your motor make sure if your changing cam ,by al means do lifters.make sure you pull oil pan and replace the o ring seals on oil. Pickup this is important, cause if bad allows leak down on motor, small part causes big money.just take your time.😎😎👍👍
Get an engine chain before you loose your toes !! Lower center of gravity helps so keep the engine close to the ground while moving the cherry picker around . Did you see him wipe the grease on the clean transmission 😂
I am torn. Seeing this clean old BMW made we want to see it stock. But it is fun to watch engine swaps. I have seen many SB Ford & Chevys transplanted into many Euro and Japanese cars including Jaguars. Not sure I would do it......but it certainly worked out well for Carroll Shelby. 😉
Everything else being the same, it would have cost about the same rebuilding that tired old 100 hp 1.8L four as this LS swap will cost. The LS swap is a way better value.
Check out Taylor Ray’s channel on TH-cam, he put an LS in a Miata and used a shifter that mounts much closer in towards the motor to get it closer to the factory shifter hole inside the cab.
I recommend replacing the oil pump, there is an actuator that varies the oil pressure that always goes bad and it's part of the pump. I also recommend deleting the variable displacement system. The lifters sometimes stay collapsed.
Definitely don’t move the engine forward to make the shifter fit. You want to keep the weight as far back as possible to make the handling better, and to keep the weight distribution as good as possible
Great engine! Just make sure you delete the active fuel management (displacement on demand) bullshit because it'll eat lifters and cams! Congrats on your new 6.0l!
You can find instruction in dioing this swap and on the firewall and shifter than cutting it up it's a hurst anyway. Popular conversion on Ford Mustangs.
I've got no experience on these massive jobs at all, but I'm thinking that moving the engine forward a little bit, will help with the clearing issues for both the headers, the shifter and brake booster, without modifying a lot what you have right there. Also, on the other hand, you might get lucky enough to get a nice driveshaft without the need of creating a custom one as well, which help to cut some costs all the way around, imho.
Actually the engine should be moved as far BACK as possible not forward for center of gravity. You want the powertrain close to the center of the car, not balancing over the front axle.
@@houseofno That is correct, I agree 100%. I mentioned that as VTuned was planning to not mod the body that much as well. On the other hand, he did mention that he's planning to do a manual transmission conversion later on. If that's the case, then he might not run into these clearance issues anymore.
Just for your info. The Aussie built Commodores with the LS Engine used a front sump in the earlier series and they are a straight bolt on fit to the later LS engines.
What a nice behavior helping people even paying them little cash to ease their lives. We do this also in my beloved IRAN. Lovely old man looks like my lovely dady. God bless.....💜💜
Your cammed LS E30 vs Motorhead's Turbo 4 banger, would love to see some quarter mile runs and some laptimes of both the builds when they are finished. Cheers man ✌️
Dont cut the shifter linkage... Just push the engine forward till its lined up you have plenty of room... The offset the engine mounts back a smidge easy peasy
Check Out www.jandjautowrecking.com/ For Engine Swap/Car Part Needs!!
You might think about making the upper rad support removable. It will make taking it in and out really easy
Also you might look at wilwood peddle assembly where you can put 2 brake cylinders and a clutch cylinder on a hanging peddles and adjustable brake bias. It would mount inside the car freeing up the engine compartment
degreaser aint cheap. But oven cleaner is ;)
Don't forget to replace the stock flywheel with an aftermarket aluminum one
Guys please replace the wheels of Engine trolly. I hate to see you guys working so hard while you can simply replace those bad wheels.
Looks like christmas morning. Everyone running around exited.

This channel is about to blow up. The quality and the content is progressing every video!
It looks like it and I sure hope so. Ben (and his brothers/dad) deserves it!
What do you mean "is about to" ?
It comes to mind that you guys are fearless. Definately fun to watch!
For the back panel inside the car (former backseat) use a contouring fabric so you don't loose the lines...
Make sure you upgrade your oil pump , stock ones are known to fail on constant high rpms and for drifting applications your going to be there all the time . Better be safe then sorry.
when stabbing that engine/trans combo in, try jacking the back of the car up high, makes it so much easier. Interesting build.
You need to clean out the yard .You and mark put up your own shop .. Enjoy seeing pop all so. Please keep the videos coming

I was thinking the same thing when he was kerning on the engine hoist. My back was hurting just watching
This is going to be a little monster with the LS in it!

Next Episode: Modifying engine hoist wheels to roll on concrete.
😂😂😂
That's gold mate
Please actually do it
@@strinati They could also use a proper engine tilt device. It's pretty dangerous lifting up the engine like that.
Exactly what came to my mind. 👌😂
2 of my favourite thing joined together. Ls and e30 😍😍looking forward to the finished product. 👍

Great choice of engine LS2 are very popular here in Australia light weight and can make alot of power completely mental with a turbo 👍
Best car channel. No hard sell of merch at the beginning. No crazy arm waving at the camera. Just gets to work and keeps it cool.
Don’t know who your talking about haha. I notice he doesn’t flip every tool in the air as well......
How about not having most of the tools before builds and going back and forth to the shops
I used a Porsche 944 brake booster in my E30,smaller diameter and bolts straight in.
This was one casual video, loved it. The old man coming in...
These young men are impressive. The friendly little interaction with the old guy shows they were raised well.

Gotta get some good casters for the engine hoist...but anyway you doing good bro. Very talented group of guys in that shop.
Whidebody would fit great❤️
You need some better wheels on that engine hoist. You gonna shake an engine off that someday lol
This car is literally gonna be brand new, an who doesn’t like an LS ? 👀🔥
this build is going well, LS fits nice, shorten all the linkages on the shifter, or just make new ones.
You guys are always kicking ass on the wild side!
Vtuned said make that engine shine
Looking good. Remember the stand subframe? I would buy one before you try to make it. Money well spent.
Awesome work brother👍🏻💯
I love the unscripted moment with Gerry. "You're gonna be famous!"
looking pretty cool swap buddy. like that hoodie too!!
if you jack up the rear of the car, the engine will go in easier. just my .02
Also take it off the jack stands
Great job with perfect guys by the way you can cut a shifter steak and weld other one and guide it to the original position
Who else noticed the mouse pointer ⬆️ above that guy's head at 7:15? 😀

@vtuned you should do a head gasket seal replacement while you got the engine apart.
put the booster in and the steering shaft before final design location on engine mount , test fit with shorty header kit
