Hey man, thanks for the mention! You have some pretty awesome content there yourself :) The more "classic" version of the build is with Earth Shifter and synergizing Fissure btw. Just in case you want to re-visit a similar build (they run around with Armageddon also).
You may not agree, but I believe you should really consider using the PlugY mod. Not only does it give you an unlimited stash that is shared among all characters. But it also lets you make ladder runewords, and even more importantly lets you farm anni runes. You also may want to consider farming Hellfire Torches, considering how easy it is to do with a simple smiter setup. The most important factor, for me at least, is that the mod doesn't do anything to make your character more powerful.
Is there something specific you want to object to? Not sure what you mean by "ladder runewords". Are you saying they aren't worth it? Because some of the most powerful runewords are ladder only.

Online gameplay and the ladder is about farming as fast as possible, playing pvp, doing ubers, killing the clone etc. The ladder runewords are there to make the leveling process and getting to endgame as early and easy as possible. They are also there to make godly endgame characters that are capable of doing ubers. Whereas single player is about finishing the game. To be honest with ladder runewords the game is easy as fuck.
Also, take a look at Earthshifter (Shael socketed for fury bp). You change volcano proc for fissuee proc and get massive +7 to elemental skills. Also, it has immense damage to make up for a bit slower attack speed.
I spent a lot of time looking for a Giant Thresher with enough sockets for Destruction. I think that it would be a good runeword for this build also, even though everyone was building BotD Poleaxe at the time. Fun throwback to old LoD days. I really wish they had brought shapeshifters back in D3.
I am thinking about a fury/armageddon WW for D2R at the moment. I actually would like an upped arthenas wrath socked with shael as a weapon. An arthenas with +3 skills would be a great balanced weapon for fury and Armageddon in my opinion and more budget. What do you think about this?
Ehh idk, I think even arioc's needle would be better. But also earth shifter is pretty cheap (on bnet? or self found?) and I think that might be better, I think dbrunski has a recent vid up with that build.

The +skills from earth shifter are great for amargeddon but the strength reqs. are huge. I know there is no ctc to cast any of the other fire skills on arthenas but I could imagine to use hellmouth gloves to cast lvl 12 firestorm on striking.

Earth shifter and upped athenas both with a shael are pretty close in the fury dmg/sec but athenas is much faster (4.48 hits/sec and 2.78 hits/sec) but the Armageddon with earth shifter has more skill points and about 1.3 k more dmg.
Lol its actually funny cause you mentioned all the points that do make a pure fury druid better. I always was curious about this hybrid build cause I was a big druid fan so I am really thankfull for that vid. But I honestly got to tell that I expected more from armageddon; looks to me just like a nice gimmick. Anyways, you got all the gear to make a good fury druid. You can use rippcracker with 65 ias, gets you to 5 frames per hit which is ok. Than I would use guillis and maybe a mana leech ring or belt cause mana leech is cruicial on this build. Since you are in single player mode, crushing blow is a huge dmg boost thats why rippcracker is great for that. A slightly better option would be a botd because it has additionly life and mana leech which means you dont even need fereal rage but I know a botd is impossible in SP.
yeahh thats kinda the disappointing part about this build. For all the skills you invest into armageddon, that plus the ctc volcano aren't doing a whole lot. I say in the video they do 10-15% of the work.. its probably less than that. However, when it comes to phys immunes, they are helpful although even then they aren't the full answer and you need your merc's decrep. And when you are in a big group of non-fire immune monsters, there is some damage done, and maybe you kill some monsters in 1-2 hits rather than 2-3, so that's good too. So i'm not sure how i feel about it.

Actually the mana burn issue is only tied to Fury. Using Feral Rage or Rabies with 0 Mana will perform the normal attack like you'd expect. It's only a problem with Fury.
I debated running a Armageddon/Fury using Phoenix shield and Hand of Justice for all the -fire res and chance to cast the 40% chance level 22 firestorm, which gets boosted by the syngeriest that Armageddon would get too
Wouldn't a doom zerker and a Phoenix monarch due more damage and be more helpful to this build ? More physical damage , some block , redemption as well as -fire res ?
Thank you so much for this. I was starting to lose faith in Shapeshift Druids altogether. All i play is SS Druid. I have three different builds. One Fury based, one Geddon / Fury and one Rabies. Everyone online tells me Werewolf Druid is pointless. Im pretty sure you just proved them wrong in one video. I just want a build that can solo Hell with minimal difficulty.
lol yeah, i wanted to make a fury druid and it was kinda lame, so I decided to follow this build a guy SPF Grape here on youtube did. The -cold res kinda goes to waste its true, but the holy freeze, high damage, ds, and ias make it a pretty dope weapon. I will say, though, that in retrospect maybe those runes could have been put to better use. I dont play this character much and its not my best build. Still a cool weapon, maybe one day there will be a better character to put it on
Id prefer a rabies/fury hybrid or just pure fury an concentrate on a decent grizzly bear as a meat shield. Weapon of choice if two handed would be reapers toll. The ctc decrip is great crowd control not only breaks physical immunities but slows everything as well an actually works on everything unlike holy freeze an I'd socket it with a shael to help bump up ias. Rest of equipment would be guilluames socketed with a um for budget or a decent jewel with str, dex, all resists, and ed. A crafted amu with frw or highlords for budget Fortitude steelrends string of ears gore riders dual ravenfrost for budget or ravenfrost and a rare ring with ar, min dmg, mana leech and resists.
I'm a year or two behind but was struggling so much with Beastmaster build against Nite Baal due to low damage input with bow so switched to this build with skill reset and now I'm beasting it. Can still use my edge bow with the build now until I find something better to use with my Tiamat skill & yeah I know I'm a noob haha
yeah i gave that some thought actually, but the str req was just too high. I also though venom grips would be dope but as is I really need the fire res and the dmg to demonds is dope. Maybe if I ever get a CoH on him i'll switch things up
If you play HC you'll realize that Max Fire/Ice/Light/Poison res is necessary. And also at least 30% Damage Reduction (to survive physical attacks and undead stygian dolls)
I use Tomb Reaver ethereal with 3 socket, 2x 15 ias and 40% damage and 1x Zod rune. My Tomb Reaver have 90 ias and over 1k dps. I think it was better choice becouse fury druid dps depend on the ias from the weapon only.
You should have put all points into werewolf. Perfect build. Then maybe you could attack faster than them dudes you was talking about. Because you do enough life leech with that one move put all you other free points after maxing out the werewolf into heart of the wolverine for more damage and whatever other benefits it gives you. You do not need elemental with this build.
As fun as the druid is, I really feel like he`s pretty useless. I really like this hybrid build tho`, I`ve been gathering gear for a fury druid too, I just don`t have those dope hemls. I play on plugy and got a botd treasher for him, thinking about going with coh, guli helm[unless i find smth better] and maybe angelics for ar. I did cheat while leveling and went for wind since it was taking forever.
Giant Thresher is better because Rangeadder 4!!! Thresher has a lousy rangeladder 1.. Other than that, Eth tomb reaver 2*40/15ias + zod cannot be beat for Fury druid

18% EDmg on the Duress is also pretty GG

If you get mana burned.. use Feral Rage - it WILL attack as a normal attack as apposed to fury.
