I LOVE these series! I hope to never run out! I enjoy these regardless of poor titles, etc. If I ignored everything with a grammatical, syntactical, or other error, I would be in the dark ages with my mouth shut and hands firmly in my lap.
As a youngster, I well remember looking through change for older coins. Finding a Victoria coin was great. Finding a silver threepence was even better. History in your pocket.
Interesting ... this made me think of the legend of Mary McLeod of Harris ... she was also said to be buried facing downward. I first heard this tale in the 90s from a family connection in Scotland- passed down to him in old, oral history. It was said her last wish was that she would be buried face downwards so that she would never, never again lose sight of her native land of Harris. There are other versions 😉
Excellent upload, thank You very much! I've long been fascinated by the TV programmes presented by Professor Alice Roberts, especially the aspects that relate to Forensic anthropology mainly because I am a collector of skulls, particularly human ones. Back in 2019 (I think), I was lucky enough to be able to attend one of the lectures that she did as part of her 'Digging into Britain’s Past' lecture tour. Fantastic evening, followed by a massively embarrassing moment for me.....I'd bought a copy of her latest book, and after the lecture, she was signing copies....So, I took mine to her to be signed......Meeting her face to face, after being a huge fan for years, my brain just totally shut down and I lost my ability to speak...Just about managed to blurt out my name as my face turned a horrible shade of red, before scuttling off and escaping on the first bus! Honestly, she's NOT THAT scary face to face! 6 years later I've reached the stage where I can laugh about it! The book is excellent too! :D
I'd love to be an archeologist being on the field excavating and unveiling the history and learn from the finds and get a better understanding of our lives or wildlife lives.
I’m an archaeologist, and it is an amazing feeling. It never gets old. You can actually volunteer to go on digs! There are a lot of Archaeology schools that will teach you the basics of Archaeology whilst you are digging
Title? Content? Relation? As far as I can discern, Australian accusations and tank battles have little to do with Roman Britain.Great content but grossly mislabeled.
1 shell case is a symbol of bravery, in a war zone? I don't think that proves that there's wasn't cowardice! Australian generals aren't going to say anything about cowardice if it wasn't true. To accuse the Australians of looking for a scapegoat, all because of 1 shell case is ridiculous.
😂 I agree that one shell case is a ridiculous presumption of note to prove anything. However, Oz,Brit,German whatever, anyone just being in a uniform and mucking about in trenches, steel behemoths or running through barbed wire gauntlets after having been ordered to go over the top is insanely brave or completely stupid. Personally, I would've told king n queen and country to get fckd and gone fishing in the Bahamas. After experiencing the Rhodesian and S.A. wars against 5 million blacks, where you take out 500 and 5000 stand up who haven't a clue who Mugabe will be to them, or that such an imbecile will ruin a country , or like a Mandela hailed as a hero yet being the zot who turned a first world country into the mess it is now. Who cares if you arent brave, all the real cowards come back alive.
I think the point was it showed they were shooting and that the lack of support wasn't from not trying but from new equipment not being up to the task?
@@kurotsuki7427 I doubt the point was proven by one casing which could've rolled off the beast when blown up. Quite frankly, unless the tank was facing away and going the clappers for far far away downs in the outback at 4mph I wouldve been firing everything plus my water pistol. Besides that, who are the Australians to point fingers when they were chasing aborigines off the cliffs of Tasmania in the 60-70s, used em for target practice and nothing more than a bunch of convicts bloodline anyway hey mate?? See they all gave up and ended up on the Burma railway building exercise and moan about that too.
And who colonised Australia and attempted genocide in Tasmania?.. Ah yes, the British. As for the 'bunch of convicts' stuff; best educate yourself before you mouth off.
1000 years into the future, archeologists will be excavating our cemeteries and find very boring discoveries. Finding people with MAGA hats and who farted t-shirts.
I do think her natural color is more flattering. But as someone who is using semi-permanent blue, green, purple, dark pink, and mixes to cover my albino hair I don't judge. She is beautiful no matter the hair color. I would deem her hair color as paprika rather than "red". And when I started out it was one of the colors I used (variety of browns to paprika) on my "streaks" since my natural color is a dark auburn.

Bizarre is that title, real historians don't say things like these, this is not about personal opinions, these are historical belief systems and artifacts that make sense in a particular context, whoever made this videos lacks professionalism.
I guess you have met every archeologist ? I only know about ten . 5 at mesa Verde and 5 around the Four Corners. One is now a doctor of anthropology at Ft Lewis College. She used exactly those words, many times, when working on the Basin Ridges site. As did many others. Which is a truly bizzare . I don't know you personally, but I'm going to guess your ego maniacal dumbass who always has something to say. Especially regarding topics they know nothing about. TH-cam draws them like Flys to shit.
Really, you do surprise me !!!! I do wonder just how many ' real ' historians you may have met ? As an Emeritus Professor of Early Medieval History, I have no particular issue with the use of ' bizarre ' as a preliminary description of the burial finds in this excellent episode. Until as and when research allows for a more comprehensive understanding together with an in depth analysis of all the finds on site, towards a rational conclusion, then the burials at that point can be placed in the most understandable historical context.

So good to see raksha! I'm glad she's still at it!
So many great documentaries on TH-cam these days. TH-cam is no longer in the dark ages.

Love this channel 👍 It helps a little that the presenter is gorgeous 😁. Great channel , very interesting and well produced 👍

Good evening
I LOVE seeing Time Team alumi! Raksha is one bad-a$$ lady!
How does the title fit in with the subject matter I am watching? I'm at 7:24 and watching footage of WWI and WWII excavations.
Great to see Raksha Dave, sharp shoveled digger lady, I often wondered what happened to her.
I would say the scratches on the coins was a primitive way off testing for fakes
Dr Alice still as gorgeous as ever
leave it to the youtube comments to objectify literally any woman they see
@@TheFeralFerret Unlikely to get it with Mary Beard I suspect, but I could be wrong I suppose.
Why do they all have hard hats on when nobody is working above them?
Why can't they leave burials alone... stop disturbing them.
Ridiculous conclusion drawn from one tank shell.
A single spent shell was found and this proves bravery?? That makes me question your opinion on other things.

Probably used daily in some arcane religious ritual…
Has anyone thought it could be a zombie uprising that has been managed?
Didn't Roman slaves wear collars? Was decapitation a way to literally or symbolically remove them from bondage?
