4:05:00 Landrigans used to be a station and a loop with semaphore signals for most of the early 1980s.

39:30 This area for a few minutes is reminiscent of where the railway parallels the side of the road at Stanwell in Queensland. When the two-lane highway was there anyway not so much now.

Great stuff! Thank you. Our family home was in Kendall, from 1948 to 2006, and I grew up in that town and am familiar with the region from Taree in the south to Wauchope and Port Mac in the north.
I used to travel on the North Coast Daylight Express and the North Coast Mail regularly as a schoolkid but never saw this particular view...it was always looking out the side windows! So it was great to go back and relive some wonderful memories. Again thank you.

1:38:00 Could be my imagination but the light starts to look like Brisbane from here and not just because Kundabung is the halfway point between SYD to BNE.

When I was about 16 years old back in 1991, I remember i walked from Taree Railway Station to and across the bridge at 6:29 min mark and I was pretty scared to walk across - unfortunately no trains came my way - back then it was NSWGR 44 class and 442 class locos but when I was half way across this bridge, I saw some youths and became somewhat apprehensive of what they would do - as I was 16 year old in new surroundings and along way from home! And the drop to the water below looked a long way down - lucky for me they were pretty friendly.

By the time National Rail took over in the mid 1990s you could get fined for doing that. There were warning signs on the fences in the Coffs Harbour area.

5:24:20 On the right is one of the oldest Ampol depots in existence dating from at least 1947 when they carted 40 gal drums on flat cars, not in tank wagons.

And if it’s the one I think it is, it was used during WW2 as part of a network of strategic aviation fuel storage sites, hence the semi-buried tanks. Google “Australian Inland Fuel Depot”

27:07 Volcanic soil on the left. Cundletown to Coopernook might have looked like the 1988 Activision game Powerdrift but it didn't seem that far apart by road even before the freeway was built. A few sharp curves, a few dairy farms a few poplars on the side of the road a bridge and that is it. Interesting perspective by rail.

I found it useful usual that no other trains were passed on the loops for the whole journey.

There is a need for rail realignment and upgrading. Not many straight lines on this trip. The drivers life is harder to focus on whats ahead it would appear. Imagine the opportunities if more and / or better crossing loops were available for both passenger and freight rail. Must be hell driving through bushfires or floods. A tyranny of distance indeed. Thanks for the viewing.
