I know too little about public policy to have high praise for Joe Biden, but I do have deep praise: I just like the guy. He's a good, decent man. He seems to genuinely care about others.

It's amazing how dim and unaware people like you have dragged the rest of us along with your careless, irresponsible attitudes to the safety of our nation. This country is the greatest gift to mankind and you damn fools threw it away without a 2nd thought. Yaaas, good ol'Joe, the dumbest man ever, to enter politics not for the sake of the country but for himself and Washington and Lincoln be damned, right Joe, you obnoxious silly old fool of a trraitor.

Wonderful talk. I clicked on this thinking Meacham was going to interview Biden but to my surprise it was the other way around.
    Thank you for sharing this.

Meachum is a genius with the stunningly original reflections he makes ... which are original not only because he is the first to make the comment, but also, mainly, because his reflections are so true. His reflections are more "revelations" than "reflections."

I have 2 children that went to UD, both suffer from mental health issues. As a result of this they did get some staff councilor support but that was it, no real meaningful help at UD. The extra pressures of pitting student against student with competitive grading were contributing factors in BOTH kids not finishing school and are now both struggling with self reliance and horrible student debt to show for their bravery to try to better themselves. If your going to contemplate public policy improvements PLEASE include mental health improvements at UD, universities generally and public support as well. My son is a talented Engineering Student with only 2-3 semesters left to finish his degree when he was forced to drop out. PLEASE help people like him and my daughter and you will have talented contributions to society instead of wards of the State.

Brilliant words and inspiring direction. Instead of becoming an engineer I became a toolmaker.

Meacham is such a wise ass and it's so unbecoming. It also detracts from any argument he is trying to make.

I think he is charming, as far as a historian can be, but I don’t think it detracts from his knowledge. Hes obviously studied history to such an extent that neither you nor me could contradict him. To me, his arguments are presented in a humble manner with the invitation of debate. Not sure how his manner detracts from his argument in any way?

On the contrary. He's very charming and has a sense of humor that most historians do not.

Yes well, Meacham's resume and Joe Biden's resume outdo yours I'd say, so your opinion reflects your ignorance. Look where they are and look where you are.
