Only some Walmarts sell guns
I assume it depends on the states it’s in weapons policy/laws
It also depends on the local market. In general, if a given product sells well in a given area, the stores in that area will keep it in stock; and if it doesn't, they probably won't.
Flannel is popular because it's super warm and soft.
Plus, depending on the cut of shirt and the clothes worn with it, it can look really good as fashion. 😊
I used to not like Flannel, but when you live in a cold weather state, in a rural area its just so practical. In the fall, winter, and early spring they are extremely warm. Also if you work outside, or physical work of any kind, flannel is very durable. Its not going to rip or tear on you.
Sometimes when they start selling Christmas stuff so early, it feels like they are skipping over Thanksgiving. Also I have heard that Walmart uses the last number in the price as a code for employees like certain numbers means the product is on clearance
An issue many people have with Christmas items being advertised and sold, before Thanksgiving, is because the holiday seems to have become commercialised. It also causes some to feel kinda burnt out by the end of the season and ready for the New Year to pass.
Yes exactly. I love Christmas as much as the next person, but please give us a breather and let us enjoy the current and upcoming holiday first before jumping straight into Christmas music and decorations months in advance. We'll get so burnt out from hearing the same Christmas songs over and over again before we get to even start prepping for Christmas. 😅
What about us that live it?
However, no one seems to have a problem with Halloween products being advertised and sold in late August. Two months prior to the actual holiday...or St Valentine's items out on display on Dec 26..and Easter items only a week or two behind. I work in a retail store where the Easter items were out in early January, and we just now received the St Valentine's Day merch. In retail, if want the best choice of merch for a given holiday, start at least two months early. If you go for pumpkin beer in late October, you won't find it..shop in August.
The radio used to annoy me, but now we all have portable devices.
Yeah, I'd like to enjoy a season during the actual season so that it's special. I've worked retail, and there is always the push to get customers to buy, buy, buy, so you just get sick of it by the time the actual holiday rolls around
This man is very insulting to Americans! It seems like most of the Germans who do these kinds of videos are that way. They say things like, "Why don't they do this? Why do they do that?" -- What he's saying is, Why can't Americans be like Europeans? Why can't they be like me?
It’s because he’s German.
There is a certain arrogance in many Germans. I have several German friends so I try to overlook it, but it's definitely running at all times like an underground stream 🙄
We use denture cleaner for our retainers. My 14 year old has a Invisiline type of retainer and just brushing it with toothpaste doesnt clean well so denture cleaner takes care of them best.
Sales tax differs by city, county and state, plus the type of product you are buying.
FYI: "RED SOLO CUPS"(they can be any color) lines actually denote measurements, 1st line at the bottom is about a shot, 2nd is about 2 shots 3rd 3 shots ect..........
Shaq said when he got traded that the house he was to live in when he got there wasn't furnished, it didn't even have the basics. Shaq went to Walmart at like 1am & got everything from sheets to computers, it totaled $70,000. He swiped his credit card & it was declined, he tried again & still declined. He called the company & they thought his card was stolen, he said no it’s me & I know I'm not broke...lol
Because one can't spend $70,000 at once without raising flags. What era do you think this is? I didn't invent the rules - I just know them. As he should have. Homeboy should have just gone to the bank hours ahead of time. But that would take away from his grammar lessons...
@@dner75-xh9le Wow. Irrational hate?
@ What? I don't hate Shaq. I like him. Very personable and entertaining. But he's an idiot. If you can't recognize the obvious, that's on you,
@@dner75-xh9le I remember that story. I think it was right after he was first drafted. He was just a kid who had never had money before and didn't know how things worked. He took his first paycheck and was still buying his stuff at Walmart like he was still a poor person. He can't be too dumb. He's made a lot of money off investing in businesses, etc., post his professional athlete days.
Sales tax varies from state to state. Some states don’t have sales tax. Some states will not tax groceries but tax other items.
Christmas is over commercialized in the US. We tend to skip over a few holidays and Halloween for the commercialism of Christmas.
The furniture available at Walmart is usually cheaply made. It's not made to impress.
Or made to last.
Foreigners always complaining about American sales tax but you never hear them complaining about Canadian sales tax. People need to visit Canada and you will see that a lot of stuff you complain about America, Canada does the same thing. Not only with the sales tax but also tips.
So don’t single out one country when there’s more than one country doing the same thing
Thank you. It gets really disheartening when your home country gets ragged on by other countries for certain things our country does, so it's nice to know we're not alone with this. As an American I understand your pain of how crazy sales taxes can be. I hope you are having a wonderful day. 😊
So true. But I'm not sure the "Canadian Pass" will hold weight anymore, now that their lipstick-sporting trophy queen fascist darling of the international media Trudy is now gone.
I love Christmas too but they need to wait for Halloween to end. For me, the Christmas season starts Nov 1. October is for Halloween.
Exactly! Like give us a breather! 😂
They used to wait until after Thanksgiving
You can buy small packs of snacks near the registers so if you want to try something before buying a big package, you can.
Checkered flannel became more of a pop culture thing in the 1990s with "Grunge" music. Everyone wanted to look like Nirvana or Pearl Jam, and being from the northwest (lots of trees and lumber), that's what those musicians wore. They've always been around in the northern states, as they are quite toasty, but became more mainstream in the 90s.
Lindt Lindor Balls ROCK! I use Lindt 70% when I make some types of chili (other types I throw in a couple of Reese’s peanut butter cups).
Reeses in chili!!!!!????
You can’t buy a car there, but you can buy tires (or Tyres if you wish), get your oil changed and other service for your car.
If it's a supercenter and not just regular Walmart.
Kabir, flannel is warm! Also, generally speaking, it is a soft fabric.
I live in Southern California, so it doesn’t really get that cold compared to other parts of the country. But it does get colder, and when it does, I throw my flannel bed sheets on. I’ve accumulated a few sets over the years, and they just get softer and more cozy, just like my shirts. Flannels are great for evenings at the beach, I’m a girl, so most of my flannels are pink, teal or peach colored.
Flannel is worn for warmth, comfort and its sturdiness. I go out every morning at 0600 to feed, turnout and clean the stalls. Wearing a flannel shirt over another shirt and under your work coat helps keep you warm. As I do the chores I get warm so I just take off my coat and the flannel keeps me warm(ish). When done with chores, I put my coat back on and head into the house. I have 2 laundry baskets, one of which is on the back/mudroom. Barn clothes go in there so no barn odors are in the house. Flannel's sturdiness comes into play here. If you have bought good flannel clothing (from Tractor Supply Company or Quality Farm & Fleet) you can wash it hundreds of times and it becomes softer but stays sturdy. Walmart flannel get soft but also gets thinner and shrinks. I have only bought Walmart flannel when kids/ people are visiting because it won't be worn as much and is less expensive so I can send it home with my guests. Good flannel can run about $40-$60 ore more whereas Walmart's sells for $10-$15.
I even have jeans lined with flannel for those extra cold days (-10°F to -20°F.
Purists in America won’t listen to Christmas music till after Thanksgiving.
As for the stores, as long as there is autumn stuff out at the same time, I don’t think you are skipping over Thanksgiving 🦃🙏🏼
Sales tax is NOT added at the shelf and the amount of sales tax depends on what county and city you are in because it’s different everywhere. We do not have a national sales tax like you have a VAT tax.
The thing about Walmart is it's a one stop shop. Need a t-shirt, panties, socks, pants, lounge wear. grab your food items. Grab a quick meal or everything to cook with. well. Cleaning supplies. A car battery, plants for a patio. A Futon for company. The furniture is very little. And other than Costco we also have Sam's it's twice the size as Walmart and triple the item size as well as price. If you have a big family you could buy enough to last. 😂
Quick tip the solo cups are designed for mixed drink there are 3 steps in one cup the bottom is for the liquor its about a shot and a half then fill the ice to the next line and mixer to the top and viola a perfect mixed drink or beer lol
White Castle is the type of thing people either absolutely love or absolutely hate. There's not a lot of in between. It's also kind of a favorite for the inebriated. I used to live near one and the line was ALWAYS a million miles long, especially at night when everyone's leaving the bar.
That is a normal size for Walmart. The store in our little town is that size. Walmart’s Sam ‘s Store sell groceries and other items from clothes to furniture sell them in bulk sizes. Commercial sized amounts like for restaurants. 5:40 🧓🏻🇺🇸Texas 5:50
Those "checkered" design is called plaid. These plaid shirts are usually made of flannel, which is a warm fabric. They are also common as pajama sets. I've also seen plaid skirts, golf pants, baby outfits, etc.
Kabir, I love frozen White Castle burgers! They have a unique tasty flavor. I've never had the opportunity to go to a White Castle, but frozen is the next best thing!
Hershey's chocolate, in my opinion, is way too sweet. I liked it as a kid, but I love Lindt chocolates the best, especially the dark ones and the truffles!
I watch a lot of true crime shows and the police are often catching people because they find a Walmart receipt from the night of the murder, and most Walmarts have state-of-the-art security video EVERYWHERE -- parking lots, aisles, checkouts. So they get clear video of the murderer entering the store, picking up big jugs of cleaning liquid, plastic sheeting, zip ties and a couple of shovels at 2am.
Those checkered flannel or wool shirts are not popular everywhere. Flannel, the fabric, is warm, so it is good for cooler weather. But for some reason, the world thinks that all Americans wear those checkered shirts. They don't!
The girl is a red flag for not liking flannel 😂😂
Flannel is very popular among hunters, outdoorsy stuff in colder months, and people who work outside. You can buy it fairly cheap, so there's no stress about it getting ruined. Also, it's machine washable and can be dried in a dryer. It's definitely not a fashion statement. It's very utilitarian.
They were very popular among gay men in the late 70s.
Popular in the south
It's not checkered.... It's plaid!!!!!
we like wearing flannel because it's soft and it's warm. I could use a different color pattern, but the warmth and softness are great.
12:12 Groceries aren't taxed in most places. Those Oreos are $3.56 out the door.
Prepared food, cleaning products, paper products etc. are a different story.
I assume they are in South Carolina from all the Clemson and South Carolina merchandise. The state doesn't tax groceries, but counties and local governments can tax groceries up to one percent.
@@camperoh Yeah, I assumed SC as well. We did have a 1% grocery tax in Phoenix for a while. None of the suburbs had a similar tax.
Americans wear flannel apparel because it is warm to wear in the winter, would rather have a warm than be cold.
I like flannel sheets in the winter flannel pajamas too or that type of material
Keep in mind just because Walmart sells guns in some stores, it doesn't mean you pay for it and walk out with it the same day, some states have waiting periods a "cooling down phase" and if pass a federal background check can go back to pick it up or get a refund if you didn't.
I love seeing the reactions of people who come over and go into a Walmart super store or a Sam's Club or Costco and see what is an everyday thing for us. We get almost the same reactions to our supermarkets.
Flannel is one of those 'good for everything' materials. It's great for warmth, breathes well, and is moderately water-resistant - great for any kind of outdoor activity. The color is also a main feature - humans see red fairly well, and it contrasts against green/grey, making it quite easy for another person (particularly a hunter) to see them. Animals generally don't see red all that well, and the mixture of darker patches breaks up your outline, making it harder for an animal to recognize you as a human being.
Stores vary as to how they price things but, as I understand it, Walmart prices their wares a fixed percentage above their cost - how much they pay for the item, the shelf space for how long they expect it to sit there, staff, etc. The profit margin for groceries in the US is razor thin at most places; by most accounts, less than 2% of what it costs to sell them. (Places like convenience stores have to pay more per unit because they buy smaller lots, and it sits longer before being sold; places like Walmart pay less per unit because they order in huge lots, and it usually doesn't sit on the shelf very long before being sold.)
BTW ~ Hominy isn't any sort of bean; it's a specific type of corn. It grows fairly big kernels, which they remove the skin/peel from, and it's... sort of 'puffed' - I think they pressure cook it for a short time, and relieving the pressure is what makes the kernels puff up some. It's not as sweet as most other corn (particularly yellow/sweet corn), and the texture can throw people when they first try it, but it's absolutely amazing! (Come to think of it, I think Corn Nuts are hominy as well - dehydrated and deep-fried.)
Walmart was originally a regular department store, with Sam Walton opening his first store in 1962. It wasn't until 1979 (nearly 20 years later) that they first began offering a pharmacy and expanded into automotive stuff. Select locations began carrying groceries in 1987 (termed "Hypermarts"), which expanded into "Super Centers" the following year. Sam introduced the "rollback" program in 1991 - whenever they could find a better deal from suppliers, they would always pass the savings along to customers.
Flannel is a staple of the lumberjack, outdoorsmen style. I'm not sure how it became popular, but it is warm and a lot of people like the aesthetic, so 🤷♀. To each his own.
They are the size of huge warehouses. It’s true. It’s damn true.
Flannel is soft brushed cotton. It comes in a rainbow of colors, not just plaid. It's very warm and lightweight, so for the cooler northern states, flannel shirts are the go-to for wearing on days that aren't quite cold enough for a heavy jacket. We also have flannel pajamas and flannel sheets for our beds. The Lindt chocolates sold in the U.S are manufactured in my State of New Hampshire in the town of Stratham. Less than 3 miles from my home. I love the Lindt chocolate bunnies. Walmart has an auto department, so while you shop your car can get new tires, an oil change, and a new battery.. they will announce over the intercom system when your car is ready. Most communities don't want a Walmart near them because it kills all the smaller shops that the towns have thus the town loses tax revenue, no shoppers in town means fewer people using restaurants, museums, grocery stores, and The stores that brought foot traffic to downtown. No stores mean no jobs in town. My closest Walmart is 30 min drive away. Our town promotes Shop Local, Support your neighborhood shops and farmers. Farmers market evert Thursday afternoon brings fresh local produce, Honey, meats, flowers, goatmilk soaps, woolen items, craft brewery drinks . All from local crafter and farmers.
Flannel is a popular amongst hunters in the south because of deer hunting. Deer "season" is usually in the colder months so flannel is normally warmer clothing. According to Deer associations website "Deer are essentially red-green colorblind like some humans. Their color vision is limited to the short (blue) and middle (green) wavelength colors. As a result, deer likely can distinguish blue from red, but not green from red, or orange from red. Therefore, it appears that hunters would be equally suited wearing green, red, or orange clothing but disadvantaged wearing blue." It also makes it easier for other hunters to tell if a person is in the woods as at that time of year there are a lot of brown colors in the leafs.
Man this guy complains about EVERYTHING
Germans love to complain, even about their own country.
Flannel keeps you warmer . Very úseful in cold climate or working out doors .
We also LOVE the fall season. Putting on flannel or camo just screams fall
I travel for work and work outside. Walmarts are great when a town has them, and you need cheap supplies and food to live in a hotel room for a few weeks.
In our state & many others don't have sales tax on food!!
I like Christmas-I just don’t like it in October -I’m one of those that get annoyed lol 😅
Me too

You probably could buy most of what you need for a house at Wal-Mart. If you need tools, or pvc pipe, or flooring or lumber, you would need to go to a lumber yard or home depot or lowes or harbor freight.
My Super Walmart is 3 miles away and I go there at least once a month. I appreciate the convenience! Not all stores have all the same products as State policies apply.
Some of us love a good flannel on our man❤. Very winter, cozy up with a nice fire and some hot chocolate.
A standard Walmart is a discount department store [They sell everything.]. A Walmart Supercenter is an even larger department store... plus a full service supermarket.
Michigan does NOT have sales tax on food. We do have 6% on goods which you would have to calculate in addition to the price shown on shelves
There are Walmart stores... then there are WALMART Supercenters... which are HUGE. Within a 30 minute drive from my front door, there are EIGHT Walmart Stores, three of which are Supercenters.
White Castle was the first fast food restaurant in the US. And Yes, they are delicious!
16:38 Lindt truffles are almost all good. I like contrasts as well and really like the Ghirardelli Dark Chocolate and Raspberry squares.
Dark Chocolate is so good. My personal favorite combos is Dark Mint Chocolate, Pomegranate Dark Chocolate, sea salt dark chocolate w/nuts, and orange dark chocolate. 😋
The final digit in most Walmart prices are all different due to inventory control. Different ending numbers can mean whether it is a newer item to their product line being offered for sale or ff it is reduced or if it is being clearanced and not to reorder etc. Sales tax is never added into sale price because there are situations where a purchaser may be exempt from sales tax. In my state, Oklahoma, disabled military veterans can apply with the state tax commission to get a card which they show at check out to exempt them from state, county, or municipal sales tax. Also, businesses or community organizations such as school booster clubs or parent-teacher organizations who buy things for resale can show their resale tax certificate and buy things with no sales tax. Businesses are expected to collect sales tax on the items they resell while community organizations are essentially treated as charities and their income is tax free so long as it is used for the organizations community purpose.
I like the idea of giving tax exemptions for the reasons that you mentioned, especially for disabled veterans!
Would you want to hear only about snow for 3-4 months when you go out? Plus it's so commercialized for that long. Every holiday is this way, but nowhere near Christmas.
As to the sizes of things, this store is probably servicing three nearby towns. My "local" Walmart is a 40 minute drive away at highways speeds. Most of their customers aren't popping in every day, they're doing their shopping once a week, maybe once every two weeks, so they're going longer between restocking, so they buy things in volumes that will last longer.
Thanks for the shout out dude! Yeah Ghiardelli is great, my fave chocolate ever. Also, Ghirardelli is from San Francisco. Down by Fisherman's Wharf is Ghiardelli Square with the famous sign. That's where the Ghiardelli factory is. You should have gone and seen it when you were in San Francisco and had one of their famous chocolate sundaes! At San Francisco Giants baseball games, which get really cold at night, they serve Ghiardelli hot chocolate.
Kabir, I think this might be a supercenter Walmart. Those have a grocery store on one side of the store and a regular Walmart on the otherside.
Sales tax has nothing to do with the price set by the store. Walmart is considered a discount store and prices can vary across the country depending on many factors. Stores set prices at say $2.99 simply because it sounds like less than $3.00. Walmart doesn’t always follow that marketing formula.
I worked at Walmart in my early 20s and they literally told us that they would price things at $2.97, etc., because they thought that people would think it was more like $2 instead of $3. So essentially Walmart thinks that we're all idiots! Lol Personally, I always round up when I see a price like that.
Most states have no sales tax for food, some have junk food taxes, and non-food items always have sales tax in states with sales tax.
I tell my kids, stores sell christmas stuff early so that our house will be ready by the time christmas actually gets here.
You can't buy a Car there, butt you CAN buy a Kayak, Small Boat or a Shed... Quite a few have full Service Automotive sections, so you can have your Oil/Tires/Batteries being changed while you shop. They also have Optometrists in front for your prescription glasses. They used to also have a McDonalds in them, but the Companies had a falling out.
We have Walmart in Canada too. They're good, have quite a bit of stuff, are kind of expensive (the prices here are expensive on basically everything), we sometimes have McDonald's in them and price checkers throughout the store. Great video
No, prices have nothing to do with sales tax. It has everything to do with marketing. A $2.99 item : " Will Cost You Under Three Dollars ! " They make you think you're getting a bargain.
However, in many states, food items are Non-taxable anyway. [ In my state, that applies to clothing as well. ]
By the way, sales tax isn't exclusively American; most Canadian provinces also add the Harmonized Sales Tax/Provincial Sales Tax (HST/PST) at the time of purchase.
Some states don't charge tax. Some only tax certain items. For example, Oregon doesn't have tax, but parts of Arizona doesn't charge tax on food but tax non food items.
The reason people get mad about it, to a degree, is that you're not even half way to Halloween before you throw on Christmas stuff...which is two months away.
The major airports parking in the US is much bigger than the Walmart parking lot. The guns in Walmart depends upon the state and store.
Flannel is just cool man. It’s warm. I thought dude looked good. 😂. Just about all I wear is metal band shirts and a flannel.
I actually have been to a Tesco! I loved it. I think it is nicer than Walmart. Dont ask where it was cuz i cant remember. I think it was Norwich. It was in 2005 and i hope to someday go back.. ✌️❤️
There is usually also an eye Dr, beauty salon and care repair service at Walmart.
Christmas stuff starts in…July.
Correct. The tax is not added in because the tax varies from place to place around the United States and around each state as well.
Here in tennessee, the state sales tax is 7%. The local counties and cities, combined, can add up to 2.75% on to that, so the sales tax from place to place in Tennessee can vary from 7% to 9.75%.
For Connecticut it's 6.35% for sales tax. 🤔
Every walmart I've been in has a outdoors section with guns. It's in the very back corner, with its own counter for workers to assist/supervise. All the guns are locked up.
Walmart is not a grocery store. Groceries, especially fresh veggies and fruit were added much later. Sorry I missed you when you were in my city of Fresno. We have about 5 large Walmarts and many neighborhood Walmarts in town.
JOLT Cola....their motto was " twice the sugar and all the caffeine"
My favorite name for an energy drink was "Whoop Ass !" so you could say " I'm gonna open a can of whoop ass! " 😄🤣😅😂😆
Usually if you buy the actual Walmart band name (Equate) of a product - much cheaper than the brand names. Canadian Walmarts don't have actual guns - maybe have BB guns.
I love Lindt, but the dark blue bag (dark chocolate truffle)is my favorite.
You mentioned that you like Ghirardelli chocolates. If you ever have the opportunity, you should try their chocolate sauce. It's so good it blows the other brands away! For plain chocolate, milk or dark, I mostly buy Dove, which I think is sold in the UK as Galaxy.
If you ever get to San Francisco, go to the Ghirardelli store in Ghirardelli Square!! 😋😋😋
The Walmart near me is about that size but it also has- McDona;d's, Eye doctor, vision center (to purchase your glasses if needed) hair salon, bank, car repair center, pharmacy and garden center.
Freezer in a store are easily 8 foot which may include machine space on top. White Castle is not quality burger’s but taste somewhat better at their fast food location.
I hate Christmas because it's always filled with stress and tension in my life, but I love Christmas music, so I never take my dislike of the season out on the stores who start playing the music super early.
I really don’t like this guy. He is a jerk. His poor little wife.
No Walmart prices are strange prices because it makes it cheaper.
He’s absolutely a jerk.
I have a Walmart 4 miles from me, so I go there all the time. I also get the Walmart + membership for $49 a year, that gets me free shipping on any orders from their website, and other perks, including free grocery delivery on orders over $35.00. So I use both all the time, and if you order your groceries early in the morning, they usually get them to you by noon.
I even got a whole cooked fried chicken the other day, I placed the order at 9am and they had it to me by noon, then I tipped the driver $5.00, even though a tip is not mandatory. He said I got the last one, so I got lucky. The parking lots are huge, but they are way too big, I have been to many different Walmarts in different cities and never saw the parking lot even half full, most of the time they are only about 20% full, if not 15% full.
Those kraft single cheese slices he picked up for almost $4.00 is a brand name, so it cost more, if you buy the same thing that is the Walmart brand it cost about half that, for the same thing, so it's about $2.00, brand name products cost more, so I usually get the Walmart brand stuff, it's called Great Value.
What are you guys talking about, $5.00 to $8.00 for a frozen pizza is not expensive, that is pretty cheap. At a pizza place you will pay $20.00 to $30.00 for a pizza. And when I get a frozen pizza I cut it in half, so I get two meals out of one $5.00 frozen pizzas. And btw, they have cheaper frozen pizzas for $2.00 to $3.00, but the quality is not that good, and mothers buy them for kids lunches.
I'm from the Midwest, and White Castle is very popular here. It is very tasty, IMO, but I would suggest trying the fast good version vs the frozen ones.
Flannel is very warm.
I don't mind Christmas stuff out early but Thanskgiving is my favorite holiday so i can't decorate for Christmas until AFTER Thanksgiving. Then it's on!
Kabir how do you like Galaxy chocolate? I heard it’s made by the American company, Mars Inc. and is sold as Dove in America
EDIT: I love how people forget that Ghirardelli’s is American, and we always say that Hershey’s is our best 😂. But I do respect Hershey because they started making affordable chocolate at a time in history when most people couldn’t afford chocolate on a regular basis, even if you were considered middle class. Even to this day, Hershey’s is usually the cheapest one on the shelf.
EDIT 2: (Ima just keep doing this, lol 😂)
Freschetta and Digiornos are considered probably the highest quality frozen pizzas. Other brands are cheaper; and, of course, it depends what state you are in
EDIT 3 🤪:
You can’t get cars at Walmart, but you can get tires 🛞 and oil changes
In the United States the last four moths of the calendar year are pretty much dominated by one major holiday each. September starts with the U.S. version of Labor Day which kicks off a whole couple of months of maximum sports viewing with the NFL regular season, MLB playoffs, NBA preseason, NHL Preseason and college American football regular season. October continues the sports viewing feast with Halloween preparations all month long. November is for the U.S. version of Thanksgiving with people preparing for holiday shopping AND holiday travel plans. And finally December is dominated by Christmas and New Years Eve/Day.
The gun availability varies by state and Walmarts
FYI .... most states there is NO TAX on food... unprepared food that is... if you go and buy fruit, milk, cookies and bread.... you pay NO tax - BUT if you buy a Rotisserie chicken, you will pay tax.
Walmart stores come in different sizes. They're not all as big and fancy as this one.
I just said the same thing about 30 seconds ago. The Walmart near me is not massive and neither is the target.
I was farmers. Going to just these massive stores, giving everyone the impression that these are the only types of stores that are in America. There are a lot of family owned and family run mom and pop stores throughout the country.
Some are big and may have more than one location but there’s nothing like these well-known superstores. I wish the foreign visitors would go to the smaller stores and give them some recognition
It's like "Can we please have Halloween and Thanksgiving BEFORE you bombard us with Christmas"
Walmarts are usually bigger in larger cities. Also Sams Club is the actual bigger version on walmart. Many foreigners don't realize when they see stores online. A lot of times they're seeing Sam's not Walmart because it's the same company
They also have super center Walmarts that are both a regular Walmart and a whole grocery store. Half of the store has the groceries and the other half has the regular Walmart store stuff. They're crazy big.
This is a regular WalMart. The large stores will have a sign below the Wal Mart saying Superstore. Gail
Many have said they need small trams inside and in the parking lot.
Howdy from Texas.
If you went to Walmart anywhere in California then you paid a lot more for everything than you would have just about anywhere else in the United States.
Walmart is a very convenient place to do your regular shopping. Because you really don't need to drive to two or three different stores, find decent parking in three different parking lots, and have to potentially wait in three different ques in order to pay and check out.
You can get most everything that you need at Walmart and in most cases pay less for the exact same items than you would at other stores. With a few notable items. For instance here where I live in Texas we have a big Walmart and one of Texas's major grocery stores as well. The Texas grocery store chain is a dollar cheaper for my preferred brand of beer than it is at Walmart. So I typically drive the extra three blocks to the grocery store just to buy my beer once I've picked up everything else I needed at Walmart. Plus Walmart is definitely not known for their helpful store employees who instead of looking for customers to help are actually actively avoiding customers at all costs.
I used to work at Target stores and you could be fired on the spot there for just telling a customer where to find something rather than physically walking them to whatever it is that they are seeking or to another associate, if you are not sure yourself where something is, who does. But just pointing and telling them where to find something instead of walking with them to it. Could have you fired on the spot. Not to mention the biggest cardinal sin of saying to a customer, " I don't know. That's not my section. " If you were caught doing that you were immediately fired and escorted from the property. Because Target's huge advantage over Walmart is their impeccable customer service. And it's an edge that they defend vigorously.

Far as White Castle goes. I myself have never actually eaten at one of their restaurants. I have however tried some of those frozen White Castle burgers years ago and fed the rest of the box to my dog. Not a fan. White Castle was originally famous because of the novelty of those tiny burgers and because they were very cheap in comparison to regular hamburgers even though you probably ended up spending more at White Castle to get just as full as you would from eating a regular sized burger. Plus the meat to bread ratios on the White Castle burger was so bread heavy. That's mostly what you ended up eating the most of and what you paid mostly for in comparison to a regular standard burger somewhere else.
As far as the pricing of many of the items at every store here in the United States ending in .99, like $3.99 or $10.99 etc. has nothing to do with the sales taxes and everything to do with psychological marketing smoke and mirrors stuff. Someone at some point realized that you often sold more of any given items by simply making it sound cheaper. For instance, you are more likely to consider buying something that is marked $4.99 than you would had it been marked at a more honest $5.00 . It's a psychological mind trick. Even though if you stop to think about it you can easily figure out that it's simply a penny difference. But when you are in the shopping mode and moving along through the stores isles, which btw are also designed using a psychological mind fu@k trick. Like keeping all the basic essentials in the very back of the store so that if you just stopped in to pick up a jug of milk and some eggs. You are led through a pre-designed rat maze of isles and displays all also psychologically designed to trigger your impulse desires for stuff that you weren't even thinking about prior to entertaining the store.
So that's all that $.99 thing is a psychological gimmick. Unfortunately it's a gimmick that works very well on the average person. They even use it for our gas prices to trick your mind into thinking that it is significantly less expensive than it is all because of a simple mind trick.
I think we in America wear flannel shirts simply because that's what they sell at the store. They make it, we buy it, and because it's always been that way nobody thinks it's weird.
