Thank you for a non-biased review. You’re absolutely right. It’s impossible say if something is overall good or awful. As with any buffet, there’s plenty of choices to explore. Difficult to find nothing that would be worth trying.
I eat mostly plant based and I'm one of those people that LOVES salads. The salad bar looked pretty fresh and that bowl of sauteed mushrooms looked delicious. My husband and daughter are the exact opposite of me. The more meat they can get the happier they are. I would love to hear Marcus's review on the various meat dishes just to get an idea of quality, if things were seasoned well, etc.
I saw lots of stuff I'd try. You're so right about opinions of food being subjective. And with your sister, she was eating stuff you would never touch. Since I don't eat fish or any chunks of meat, I stay with the buffet.
I was on the Celebrity Constellation two months ago: The Oceanview Buffet is great. I loved the English breakfast section. The main restaurant, San Marco, had delicious upscale options for breakfast, lunch and dinner.
I was on this ship a few years back. The food was very good. They had a good selection in the buffet and it was very tasty. The food in the main dining room was amazing. We didn't feel a need to go to a specialty restaurant, because of this. The meats were well seasoned and cooked to perfection. The french onion soup was the best i have ever had.
We were just on the Reflection. I noticed for lunch that Celebrity has gone to more sandwich type things for lunch which is fine that is what most Americans eat for lunch. The odd thing I found on Celebrity is that you seldom find donuts for breakfast which is very much an American breakfast item. I would find them more at tea time?? So I would have to take donuts at tea time and save for breakfast.
I think the carnivores will be happy with the amount of meat featured in this video. They are a very vocal group on your channel. 😆 The buffet food looked good. The hummus section caught my eye. I might need to book a Celebrity cruise soon.
We have always enjoyed the food on Celebrity. However, we rarely eat in the buffet, and then it is usually just salads. Burgers pool side, speciality restaurants and of course main dining room are go too. We have been on the Equinox and will be on her again in Feb. Have cruises on Princess, NCL, Royal, Celebrity and by far rate the food on Celebrity at the top.
The food looks relatively fresh. I think that increases the odds the food is good. There's a decent variety, so that's good to know. I saw several things I'd like to try. But yeah, it's a very subjective thing. Usually I just ask people if they enjoyed the food. But really, if I don't like what's in the buffet, I have plenty of other choices!
Can you share any of the reasons your sister was disappointed? Was it too spicy? Not the type of food she was expecting? For example, did she want more soups? The buffet looked OK to me. I'd like to try that salmon. Thank you.
From my personal experience, the ships I found to have the most creative and tasty options for meatless entrees were the Carnival Sunrise and the MeinSchiff5. However, Those things can change quickly with the head chef onboard. I found that Carnival's quick-service Mexican restaurant had great options and made myself a lot of bean and cheese tacos with a bunch of fresh toppings.
Food is very subjective. I feel you did a fantastic job just showing the selections. From other videos, it seems Marcus is a meat eater. Perhaps he or you could review that perspective. Love your videos!
If you like Hometown Buffet - MSC and Costa are much better. But, then I don't like Olive Garden, as I'm Italian.the buffets are closer to Firefly Buffet in Las Vegas.
I took a Princess cruise and the food was really, really bland. Badly under seasoned and under spiced. I'm going to try a Celebrity cruise to see if it gets any better.
I would not be able to try most of the offerings. Self-serve buffets are already difficult for me, but the number of utensil handles touching the food would have been a dealbreaker.
I am an extremely picky eater. Anything with vinegar (mustard, mayonnaise, ketchup, salad dressings, bbq sauces etc) is strictly no go. I tend to stay away from anything I can't identify on sight, but I've been on 4 cruises (3 NCL and one Carnival) and always found plenty to eat. The fancier dishes I tend to stay away from.
After going with Virgin - i couldnt go back to food laying out and not fresh. Even on Virgin in the galley...the special of the day is laying out and cold. It would be great if you wanted to lose weight on a cruise as this food doesnt look nice compared to Virgin

I very much like this slow close up view of the food...
Thanks again for Your video's
Great video to watch while eating a comfort food dinner after a hard day at work.
I love eating in the buffet and this one looks really tasty. A lot of variety and it looks fresh .
True. Taste in food is subjective.
Our Celebrity food was very good. Desserts were best on our ship than any other. Look forward to next trip next May to Alaska

Ah you made me hungry ! I loved the variety available on celebrity. So much better the carnival . Had to cook dinner early.

Oh yes, there are that treasured few that always write something like, "Where's the meat?" every time I post anything food related :-)
The BLT needs to be a BLAT - bacon, lettuce, avocado and tomato but really there seems to be a good variety and it all looks good.
Oooh, I like that!

Thanks for posting - I eat a plant-based diet and it looks like we won’t starve 😂
Who did the closing song and the name of it? TIA
I get all my music from the artlist service. They are great for content creators. The song is called "Don't Keep Me Waiting" by Flint.

What’s the best cruise liner for plant based options? I don’t want to be eating salad and chips every day!

Looks pretty yummy to me!!
Your awesome Morgan ❤
I didn’t see any fish selections other than the tuna salad. ?
There definitely were more, but as I don't like fish, I guess I just didn't focus on them.

Why was my post Deleted???
I didn’t delete any posts, Fred. No idea what happened. 🤷🏽♂️
I love the Indian food on Royal ships.
I took a Princess cruise and the food was really, really bland. Badly under seasoned and under spiced. I'm going to try a Celebrity cruise to see if it gets any better.
Food on Celebrity Apex was very good, Celebrity Silhouette not as good but better than Royal.
Ich habe hunger!
Food looked bad. I am only cruising lux ships from now on.
They consistently WAY undercook their roast beef.
Looking at it doesn’t answer the question lol

OMG - I thought I was the ONLY ONE (re vinegar and its sauces)!!!!

The food on Celebrity has been on a downward spiral.....Not what it use to be...some items were horrible.
