Ashraf Ismail was my favorite AC Director aside from Patrice Desilets. No one else has been better than him ever since, I don't think. I also look back fondly on these promotional videos, because back then they were so honest. Everything that you see here, narrated at a refreshingly brisk pace, is actually the way things are in the final release of Black Flag. I think fans would be happier with honesty than with dolled-up visuals, framerates appearing more stable than they really are, and empty promises. Even if it's a small improvement to the series, or trying something new, just be honest with it and give us what you claim you're giving us. That's all it would take for Ubisoft to gain back ALL of its reputation in ONE shot.
@@MrVoland44 Dude turned out like he did but it doesn't change the fact that those Black Flag presentations are exceptionally truthful and straightforward. Not just by AC standards but gaming in general. Give credit where its due
I was really impressed when watching the scene at Havana. It's good to see that the rooftop running/swingin/jumping mechanics are still strong when in cities.
I really loved this game but I wish I could have gotten rope darts and berserk/sleep darts earlier in the game. Also the trailers showed some French enemies and there were none until freedom cry. I kinda wanted to fight the french. Its still a fantastic game regardless.
If you watch the E3 demo, you can see that he crouches when out of the foliage. It also mentions on the AC wiki that "Edward will be able to crouch in Black Flag, making him more discreet while tailing enemies". So there will be some way to directly control it.
finally someone who understands. And yeah i have played brotherhoob and liberating the Borgia towers completely stealthily and i must agree. it was one if not the best aspect of the game.
Being a great assassin? I have waited the whole game for the moment that you would join the creed but nope none assassin ad all just pirates......... The thing I don't get yes it is a great game but why do you not become a assassin the game is called ASSASSINS CREED
Maybe spoiling don't look:) Actually you are wrong because ad the end of the whole game a girl ask (don't know here name) are you ever gonna be working with the assassins and his answere is maybe I don't know yet
Jim Weidema i know her name is anne he had trained by the assassins and he is an assassin but later his daughter is coming and he has to leave and he left behind him the pirates
It did come in handy in the frontier on occasion. Usually because there was a snow storm and you couldn't see 2 feet in front of you without it. Same applies for foggy seas.
Ah! Good to see they're back on track after AC3. I can see the Caribbean being an excellent setting. From what they've shown it also looks like they've brought style back to the assassinations, no more tomahawks in the head.
I wasnt to sure about the whole pirate thing but it has really grown on me, more as a game rather than a true AC game though. Saying that, Ubisoft said they want the keep it going for a long time so they will explore other periods and hopefully still keep their level of awesomeness up
It definitely looks like a mixture between the AC2 trilogy and AC3, which is a really good thing in my book. Concerning gameplay, this has been the best look yet at making sure AC4 will still be an Assassin's Creed game. Hopefully, a fresh modern-day storyline and Edward's journey will be really well-written, and we'll have the best game in the series. Now when does the PS4 come out, so I know when I can actually play this game?!?
I couldn't agree with you more. I played all the AC's at least twice and there definitely have been a mix of steath and action, especially during Ezio's Trilogy. I'm also very confident this game will uphold the mix.
there is a option with the blowpipe to use "sleep" darts, so therefore you can knockout opponents. furthermore, you can crouch/prone when you hide in bushes or dense vegetation.
I remember watching this trailer when I was six. I loved it so much I wanted to play it but I was way too young to be playing that for my age. So, I played Disney infinity pirates of the carribbean. Such fun games honestly.
there sure will! Ashraf has confirmed it on his twitter a few times, he described it as being "on cloud 9". Also you can here some of it in all of the demos! (:
God I miss buying armor. I hope they revert back to an earlier era because its by far the best time period for assassins. I personally hope they go back to 1200-1600s
They had ships in AC3 and free roaming has always been an element of the Assassins Creed series, every game had it. They might have expanded on the two, but its not a break through
I agree its heavily combat based. But it still gives you the option and sometimes requires it. Using those elements means it is a stealth game. But it also falls into other categories.
This is about game mechanics and dont look only the bad side.In AC 3 you could go over obstacles really fast and climb trees here you can dive underwater. P.S You are right about the ladder thing it gets in my nerves!!!!!!
I have to admit, I haven't been paying as much attention as I should be to this game, with the excitement of GTA V so close and what not, but I have to admit, I'm impressed. It really seems like they're fixing everything that was unfinished about AC III, and I love that there are so many environments; the ocean, jungles, and cities! Boston and New York we're not that great in AC III, and I like that Havana has that Renaissance feel. AC definitely isn't a game that stays the same every year!
Actually that was a concept in Assassin's Creed 2 when the "Fox" asid that he had the ability to see through walls, indicating that he had more of a deveoped eagle vision.
Thank you!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! It's the players choice whether they want to go all guns blazing or stealthy. Just cause AC doesn't force stealth doesn't mean it doesn't have it. Just like in AC3 it had stealth it was called the optional objectives. Which people didn't do.
it was a fun game though, altair is my all time favorite character. the game was a classic that introduced a story line never seen before (other than John Beiswenger)
There should be more bonus points for undetected escape also. This would mean if you take him out without being spotted you can just walk away whilst guards are clueless.
back then, reloading a fire weapon was a pain in the ass (you have to clean the barrel, add gunpowder, insert the projectile and arm it, can take minutes really). so having 4 loaded weapons was really twice as effective as having 2 since in ca close battle you won't have time to reload them anyway.
Please, AC IV, don't disappoint, pirates era is way more appealing to me than Italy and all that shiz, just because of the wilderness and possibilities that having a ship gives you (mechanics and game ideas remind me of Zelda WW with a more adult approach) , this can be the best AC yet, hope it delivers, I am pumped I won't hide it, more than I was for any AC after AC II.
Really like the look of this game. Havana looks great, looks like you'll be able to do a lot more rooftop roaming compared to some of the buildings in Boston in AC3. Can't wait.
With them releasing a new one every year, I really hope AC isn't just becoming a CoD-like franchise. This doesn't look too far different from AC3, but that might not be a bad thing. Hopefully Ubisoft can keep the level of innovation high.
It'be been available, but not really used sunce games have mainly been developed for current gen. The introduction of next gen will benefit both console and pc users.
I'm fairly certain he's only talking about graphical improvements not full blown features. Things like enhanced lighting and extra detail on leaves etc. also added physics on bush when you move through it
Trailer look's neat but I have some thoughts: 1) Disarming enemies is nothing new. We have it since Part 2. Ismael is mentioning it, like it is a new thing. 2) The whisle-thing is a one-to-one copy from ACIII (the whisle sounds the same ^^) 3) Havannah is kinda small. 4) I like the new poision. 5) He always mention that some things work because of the next-gen-consoles. I hope I can dive as well with PS3!

this didnt aged well

These weren't French, just Spanish soldiers with historically accurate uniforms. I guess they changed the colour in order to avoid confusion.
Jesus, how everything has changed now. Rip Ash. These were good times...
If you actually paid attention you can see that in 3:10 Edward used a different outfit than he wore on 3:24 Like if you didn't notice :3
It was the explorer outfit, and then the regular one, also the pistol shots have different noises and after effects.
As soon as this game hits the US im getting it. Ive played all the AC's and I love them. I am so excited for this one to come out!
I love the assassins creed series so much I am playing Assassins Creed: Revelations all over again (AC 3 soon)
I can say for certain that I am looking forward to this. All the little details that they've added in and the emphasis on stealth is awesome!
I was not too excited for this game, but it looks VERY promising. They have brought back some cool features from the earlier games.
If you watch the E3 demo, you can see that he crouches when out of the foliage. It also mentions on the AC wiki that "Edward will be able to crouch in Black Flag, making him more discreet while tailing enemies". So there will be some way to directly control it.
Still lit🔥🚶♂️
finally someone who understands. And yeah i have played brotherhoob and liberating the Borgia towers completely stealthily and i must agree. it was one if not the best aspect of the game.
Better than unity.
+Halsy you can never say no to black flag ;D
Absolutely
Cap
@@KeyroFranco yeah cuz unity had co op so it is good then black flag.
In the beginning I said that wouldn't buy this game, but now .. Congratulations, you have convinced me
Being a great assassin? I have waited the whole game for the moment that you would join the creed but nope none assassin ad all just pirates.........
The thing I don't get yes it is a great game but why do you not become a assassin the game is called ASSASSINS CREED
Brotherhood as the best for the whole Assassin's Creed thing...
almost near at the end of game u become assassin and u regret for all this (money, famous, women) and one mentor he training u
Maybe spoiling don't look:)
Actually you are wrong because ad the end of the whole game a girl ask (don't know here name) are you ever gonna be working with the assassins and his answere is maybe I don't know yet
Jim Weidema wrong the girl says that Edward say after he cools down and gets to England he will stay with the assassin order
Jim Weidema i know her name is anne he had trained by the assassins and he is an assassin but later his daughter is coming and he has to leave and he left behind him the pirates
This is the only game series I fanboy on. I love this!
This is gonna be the best assassins creed game yet
I really want to give each and every one of you guys making AC a massive man hug. Touchè
It did come in handy in the frontier on occasion. Usually because there was a snow storm and you couldn't see 2 feet in front of you without it. Same applies for foggy seas.

Love the music when Edward dives
i agree (for once). the 9 main assassinations were basic BUT had some twists and turns that weren't expected. the ending had A LOT of promise too
I wasnt to sure about the whole pirate thing but it has really grown on me, more as a game rather than a true AC game though. Saying that, Ubisoft said they want the keep it going for a long time so they will explore other periods and hopefully still keep their level of awesomeness up

love that they went for the ACII city feel
there is a option with the blowpipe to use "sleep" darts, so therefore you can knockout opponents. furthermore, you can crouch/prone when you hide in bushes or dense vegetation.
They've brought back the AC2 concept alongside the others. Nice!
This is by far my favorite sneak peek to this wonderful game.
I remember watching this trailer when I was six. I loved it so much I wanted to play it but I was way too young to be playing that for my age. So, I played Disney infinity pirates of the carribbean. Such fun games honestly.
everytime I watch these its like ahhhhhh I want this nowww its that good
This game will bring the pride back to AC series.
It exceeded my expectations in both stealth and fun. I liked the story too. AC3 was an exellent addition to the franchise imo.
ohhhh, thanks, glad i met a person who gave absolutely NO HATE during this convo =D
This game has the freedom of AC1, cities similar to AC2 and refined mechanics from AC3 in a stunning Caribbean open world. Looking very promising.
You focus on the positives you earned a like!
i agree entirely. the building layout for ac3 was too restrictive of free running. Loved running around florence and venice streets :)
there sure will! Ashraf has confirmed it on his twitter a few times, he described it as being "on cloud 9". Also you can here some of it in all of the demos! (:
it looks amazing especially the water..looking forward to see how old time Jamaica was depicted
Love the new hidden blade stealth kill
Can't wait, it's got to be the best one yet.
Admirable fellow Assassin.
God I miss buying armor. I hope they revert back to an earlier era because its by far the best time period for assassins. I personally hope they go back to 1200-1600s
If you were a big stealth games fan for real you would have known that AC is the mother of stealth games
Love the stealth and fish!
They had ships in AC3 and free roaming has always been an element of the Assassins Creed series, every game had it. They might have expanded on the two, but its not a break through
Yep cant wait for this, GTA V, BF4 and of course Arma 3.
Awesome this was way more enjoyable than the live action trailer!!..... you almost lost me back there
I agree its heavily combat based. But it still gives you the option and sometimes requires it. Using those elements means it is a stealth game. But it also falls into other categories.
It also adds replay value and gives more equipment oppurtunities and is just fun!

Awesome looks like the best one so far
Same, I liked the naval in Ac3 but this blows it out of the water, like the seamlessness of it
wow, Havana looks great. Big AC2 feels here.
Havana looks amazing!!
that underwater gameplay seems nice, just hope you will be able to dive and swim underwater whenever you want like in gta san andreas =))
Yeah me too... You'll like AC4 then. The Naval Combat it's even better.
im just constantley impressed by what ubisoft does with the parkour it's so impressive
This really just feels like it's gonna be another revelations
Wow, i am impressed. This made me want to get into next gen
This looks amazing. Love the sound track too.
Yeah, as you said, they are opinions. All AC are really cool. I love the Assassin's Creed Franchise.
it was a fun game though, altair is my all time favorite character. the game was a classic that introduced a story line never seen before (other than John Beiswenger)
I wasn't sure about this game but now I'm interested
awesoooooome
graphics and new challenges in water good
Zor ala Super Awesome
2 swords? 4 pistols, blow pipe, hidden blade OMG this game is going 2 be awesome
I really liked how Havana and most likely the other cities will have an AC2 feel about it
Cool game and gameplay and the graphics
awesome I love this new eagle vision
There should be more bonus points for undetected escape also. This would mean if you take him out without being spotted you can just walk away whilst guards are clueless.

I have every ac game and I love the nb in 3 I was happy to hear more in 4
"isn't for gaming" still the most powerful machine... flawless logic

Yes, yes you can. And I will agree.
Really looking forward to this. Hopefully one of my first PS4 games.

they made so many changes after the demo
the rock throwing mechanic would be awesome
