I actually thought VVC wont be able to make a comeback after Shikara flopped. But 12th fail has ability to make you really emotional and you do not need to be in process of any competitive exam to relate to the struggle Manoj kumar faced and the potrayal by Vikrant Massey
Film worked because of its women... They all worked in background and won everywhere.... While supporting the men.... Especially dadi... Loved her so much
I have watched this film thrice in theatre and i think it has earned really well. I mean even if we leave the budget vs box office analysis, this movie earned around 1 cr on 1st day and collected around 60 cr lifetime. I think it's a huge success on theatre as well. Also, I don't think we should say that we failed as an audience because for 1000 cr it should also get that much of screen. For example next week Merry Christmas is coming, directed by shriam raghvan it also going to start slow and will depend upon the word of mouth. I mean we have to accept this fact, that these movies will depend upon word of mouth.
While watching this movie, I was sure it won't connect much with me because I knew the story, ending, many clips saw on reels and it was overhyped around me. So, for the entire movie I was okay, but when Manoj comes to know he has passed and falls down, I just burst out crying, i cried for a good 2 minutes. Brilliant moment, brilliant movie ❤❤

Vikrant's home/village theme has classical instruments, Shraddha's love theme has modern. and when he does the interview, the theme is a fusion signifying both his joy for family and her. brilliantly executed! kudos to the actors for great performances too, and for the lead vocals

How is this film successful, i mean this movie invested like 20 crore but earned only 66 crore. But Animal made like 850 crore. So if people say that 12th fail is better than animal why did it made so less revenue compared to animal. So success means respect not the amount earned but people who made animal also got respect from many people. i have seen people saying that they like thier acting and story. But the stats dont lie though the difference in revenue is huge. If you see the rating you will see that many people like 50-60 percent gave 5 star and 40-50 percent gave 1 star to the movie Animal. And if you check 12th fail you will notice that 85-95 percent gave 5 star. Since more number of people watch animal compared to 12th fail (like 120 times more) and 50 percent people gave 5 star that means people who gave 5 star in Animal is more in number than People who game 5 star in 12th fail. Even the people who gave 5star is only like 50 percent in animal but still its more than 12th fail so more people like that movie so its better than 12th fail right.
This movie is fake, a guy whose father is retired government employee and grandson of subedar is shown so poor. A retired government clerk also get enough pension to afford education of their kids, also region of Delhi like Mukherjee nagar are quite cheap in comparison to other metro region. Some of my friends are from similar background and currently studying in Mukherjee nagar, they live and study comfortably in Delhi, if they have done some background research then they can easily understand that people of this background considered middle class in most village, not poor like shown in this movie, they simply copied everything from some self glorifying biography book of some guy.
