This is all new. have had Elite for a very long time and basically just did cargo runs and explore a bit. Sat of shelf for a while as I tried SC but am getting back into it now. Realize now what a great job these devs did,
@@MrFronginson module grind is now less than a day if you know how to play rather than 4 weeks, far easier to influence powerplay as an individual people were fed up with how the game has been handled for years, and yet the player population has doubled overnight thanks to the update, surely something has changed? what could they add that wouldn't make the game feel "empty" to you? my guess is nothing, and theres no pleasing you!

Could be added ship interiors as a part of simulator genre, campaign or epic quests, player driven market as in eve, planets with flora and fauna, removing solo play to make space alive, and so on. But we only have another ship. Shame on fdev
I think there are enough games for everyone to play what they enjoy. People who like pretty graphics do Star Citizen. People who like spreadsheets do EvE and people who know space is big and mostly empty play Elite. None of them are simulators... People who like simulators play Kerbal. I've spent thousands of hours in all there games. Right now having the most fun with Elite.

If you want to maximize your rare goods hauls, Leesti is right next door to Orrere, and George Lucas station is the only station on the galaxy that offers TWO different rate goods (Azure Milk and Leestian Evil Juice). Just promoing it because it's my home station. :-) #IndependentLeestiForEquality
It does offer 2 but both in very small quantities (24 and 14 I believe) so better to go to other systems that offer 128 at a time. Merits are per item sold not per cost of item as well.
@@AtlasRandGaming And if you had a carrier, just jump the most close you can to the station, do some runs with a ship that had more than 128 tons capacity and store it in the carrier, when you have a good stock jump to a system of your faction at more than 150ly, and with a large ship of more than 600 tons make some runs to sell it, you can easy make a profit of 10m credits or more and around 10.000 merits for run.
Thx for the tip. I just started PP today (never even looked at it before) and got around 5300 merits in a few hours, but this looks waaay faster and easier. I did finish all the assignments though, so I'm happy about that. 🙂
Still works collected 34 cargo and sold to an "aquisition" system to recieve 1200 merits. You have to purchase from over 100 LY away from the system to plan to sell in.

If you're hunting for Acquiring systems, note there's a second filter button after you click the Powerplay overlay on the galmap. You also need to tick 'activity' filter to hide systems with no activity at all.

If you play in Open, as you should, they will “request” a share of your cargo to use their services. I suggest you play along, give them what they ask for and you will live to tell the tale. Seems that this works for you because you are pledge to Li Yong Rui. I did this for Jerome Archer and sold in both reinforcment and aquisition systems, both earning me 400-500 merits, nowhere near as much as you did, so take this into consideration, as Li Yong is focused on trading, compared to Jerome's combat focused etos
Ya that is not a great amount of merits, but probably no worde than others. Have you tried doing a 200LY run with the same amount to see if it pays more? The difference may not be huge but I did 200LY to maximize merit pay.
As you do the things on the list they should show progress and then show finished. If they are not - read directions carefully... Like I did some missions with the escape pods and turned them in, but mission progress didn't advance... they I read the details and you have to do those missions in non-fortified systems... so did that and mission completed. So read fine print on the mission if its not progressing.

@@AtlasRandGaming Big difference, I use the carrier to get more than 1200 tons of the item, then I jump to a system at 160ly and in 2 runs of 640 tons I get a profit of 20 million and 20.000+ merits, thanks to that I now rank 7.
Just checked Inara after watching this and the supply of almost half of all rare commodities is 0 😂 seems like people got a hold of this and milked the galaxy dry
arent rares produced per player each? I head it in an engineering guid where the host was wonderring why he couldt get the 50 goods to bring to the engineer. the answer was that rares are per player and that you bring them first to their destination until they respawn.

most important question, is it open only mode now? if not fdev can burry it. Why? its a competitive thing. being rivaled by extra instanced solo and coop players is just plain stupid.
One thing about PP2 is the interface is JUNK! Half of the time it doesn't work, or at least I cant get it to, I may need more practice, but I just feel like it could have been made more intuitive and less clunky.
Nope... still doing this today... making thousands of merits. Remember merits are priced (and power rewarded) based on distance from source. I'll add that to description too. Do over 100 LY to maximize number of merits per unit sold.

you had it right. when its a system that is an acquisition candidate it will be that hollow circle that you saw.
this is 100% the way to go however there is another rare good right next to orr in the diso system to double the amount you get

Yes for anyone doing Role Play this is a good system to do that in open... For the rest of us Private play keeps the pirates away.

Patched, I did a good run and after that, it started to give a lot less.
Distance from buy to sell makes a huge impact on both price and merits... try selling further away.

Currently moving 60 nanomedicines around 150LY for the grand sum of 1132 merits. Not sure I'll make it to level 34 at this pace...

They are never actually 0 if you play in solo.
