I remember the first time I heard this, my fiance (then still boyfriend) and I had just gone to see them live and next day were listening to all of Prequelle for the first time (as this hadn't been played live at all yet) . We instantly decided that A we were going to get married and B this was going to be our first dance.

This song can have so many meanings to different people. I choose to hear it as a song about unrequited love and having to live the long years without that person. Maybe if you had Life Eternal, they could learn to love you back. That's how I always hear it.

My grandmother was my best friend, I spent so much of my childhood with her but she always hid pain deep inside. She committed suicide when I was 14 and being 25 now, this song I always dedicate to her. As much as I want her in my life selfishly and I'll always mourn for her as she touched my soul, her passing was what she wants, and hearing this is the moment to just let it go helps with it so much
I mean holy fuck. The atmosphere, how the song fills the entire venue. Tobias' pitch-perfect voice cutting above the backing vocals, the entire band playing parts that perfectly compliment each other. Fucking transcendent. There really is nothing like Ghost.

I saw them in Louisville, and was pleasantly surprised they did "Life Eternal". I was expecting them to skip "Helvetesfonster" and this song, and play "Witch Image" and "See the Light" instead.
The first album I heard from Ghost was infestissumam, then Opus Eponymus, so I could say that I follow them in a good way, I’m not the biggest ghost fan, I love their music and my favorite album is Prequelle, and yes i mean it, is the greatest ghost album!!!
I started with Meliora then made my way from the first to Prequelle and I have to agree. Every album keeps getting better
