Le Juste Debout 2019 signe un retour aux origines des danses représentées qui ont toutes connues leur essor dans des clubs : #backtoclubbing. C'est également l'occasion de recréer l'esprit de fête, de convivialité, d'échange et de partage que l'on trouve en soirée. Le public est carrément invité à prendre part à la danse !
Le Juste Debout est une rencontre internationale de danses Hip Hop dites « debout », qui réunit plus de 4 000 danseurs, sélectionnés après une tournée internationale de 3 mois.

finally some real stuff at 3:20, the dude in the red suit is a master locker LOL damn hella clean.
Rashaad was telling us in Vancouver last month about how he was chosen to judge Juste Deboute not because of his expertise in one specific thing, but because of his giant wealth of knowledge in so many different things that even extends outside of solely just the dance (like truly being involved in the street dance community).
He told a story of how he himself didn't know exactly why he was chosen to judge until at the battle he was being announced. They said "and now your popping judge ..no no no wait, I mean your popping, bopping, strutting, ticking, animation, boogaloo judge Rashaad" (dont quote me on exact words).
So before you judge someone on their dancing alone, it's important in street dance to figure out what someone's really about as well. (So you dont sound like a stupid/whiney/immature/childish/ignorant person. But iuno maybe yall commenting really are super dance gods that really know what you're talking about and believe that what you're saying is for the benefit of our community.
...But yea iuno about some of the hiphop or popping judgements this year... 😬
I fell in love with your comment. Well said. This year its amazing with I think 8 Judge Demos over various countries. It's was Sekous turn and someone asked What the he'll is that old guy doing with Lol added.
I'm from South Africa. Home of the "stupid rubbish South African house music" as one complained. What the uninformed don't know is that we have a very big house culture in South Africa. Our sound I and beats are just a bit different, because our footwork is a bit tricky. We are a true dancing nation and we go kinda crazy So it shows in our moves.
But I knew that, that "old man" was dancing what we call jazz. A dance practiced by a very stylish, very cool generation. It's slower than what the younger generation dance now. But very entrancing to watch. We have Deep house, House and now this new sounds. Gqom fom the Durban guys are very popular among the youth now. As well as Gqom dancing.

Not to be a casual, but this is why normally you pick the big names who have been winning events or that you know are solid (outside of Greenteck), because there are a lot of good dancers in the world but not a lot of them are good judges or have any experience in judgement which is an actual skillset or dif from dance.

See, the problem I think u're all having is that u believe the judges are there to please you. They're not here to cater to ur personal opinion about who's better they're here to give their own, and they're much more quailified than any of us here in the comment section. They have the YEARS, STREET CRED, & TRACK RECORD to boot. Instead of bitchin get ur own skills and experience up so u can judge juste debout one day..

@@zzPaczManzz AJ im really laughing now. Its the same issue we have with House and New House dancing. The new generation come and change it.
I saw what happened when our rubbis South African DJ's played our rubbish new house music. The contestants struggled to adapt. The ones who adapted to the rubbish music progressed to the upper levels. But then I saw how many of them included our rubbish South African dance moves and some actually enjoyed it.
They need to add more categories. Krump is Krump. Popping is popping, but hip-hop and house is evolving so they need to differentiate between the authentic and the new. The new hiphop they can easily title Laurent. Meaning come with everything you got even mop the floor with your body or move like your cat or an Indian princess.
New House is just as tricky. The New generation just dance different.
And they integratecso much more than us so they just blur lines.
You will really frown if you see what we did with hip-hop,

Tank top and shorts are easy to dance in, because it doesn't limit your motions, as suits can, if you do splits, put hands up and so on. What you see? That I don't upload to youtube for a long time? Or where did you get info that I'm not dancing from?

Experience, Street cred, & knowledge of hiphop roots and origins --- she was there at the beginnning of the hiphop dance movement after all. It's not cuz she can physically do what les twins or these other dancers can (cuz she can't). That's never really the deciding factor. not all the time..

When you compete in the hiphop category of a dance competition you will be judged based on criteria of HIPHOP. No PROPER judge is judging solely on who can put on the best show or who can pull out the craziest moves. The difference between a COMPETITION and a real BATTLE is a good thing to know if one wants respect in the street dance community.
Knowledge is one of the elements of hiphop.

The tennis analogy was a reply to the guy about how I'm not a pro dancer, therefore I can't tell if someone is a good dancer. So you are already wrong on your first point, as I didn't make any comparisons of dance to tennis. Second, yes dance is art but so is everything else. There is an art to everything athletic, whether it be footwork or just the style or movement of how a player plays in any sport. Let's be honest of course there are objectively beautiful art pieces. But the majority of painting "art" is all bs and a bunch of fake people pretending to be so "deep" in art thoughts. So your second point doesn't really make any sense because you CAN tell if someone is good at dance... It's subjective if you think 2 people who battle and one performed better than the other. But in terms of whether or not someone has the skill or talent to dance is pretty objective. So in short you can tell if someone is good at dance. Maybe they were really good when they were younger but currently at their age, they don't look at good at all is my point.
