    Huge fan of GWT:NZ and was hungering for strategy content, thanks so much for putting this out! Awesome stuff

      Thanks a lot! I've always been hungry for strategy content in boardgames, so much that I started to write a lot of that myself :)

    I really love your strategy videos on GWT, they're so good! I've learned a lot from you and have had my eyes opened to what is possible as a strategy! Your original GWT strategy video really unlocked that game for me in terms of fun (after all, nothing's more fun than hitting that bell on the train track!)!
    Some constructive feedback I have: please get a headset or even just a pair of earphones, the audio will be much, much better.

      Thanks for the kind words! And you'll be pleased, I got myself a new headset a few months ago. If you're into it, check my most recent videos, the difference is stark:)

      Will you be doing any new GWT content, especially for New Zealand? I'd love to hear more of your thoughts, like in your "How to play Cowboys/Builders/Engineers" videos for the original game!

      @@Planerary I might! Right now I'm really into Nucleum, Maracaibo and Terra Nova, but I still play GWT in its different shapes

    Regarding your sub count increasing: I think you have broken into a space where there aren’t many creators. There aren’t many people diving deep into games. I personally like the discussion of the game. It’s a lot better than most videos which do reviews. Plus I get to listen to just more talk about the games. Kinda like when after you finish a game, sometimes people just start talking about the game.

      I love it! My playgroup does it every time, which is why we end our gaming nights a bit too late :)

    Hi Mario, this video is great. It provides much more information than in all other "walkthrought" or "how to play" or "tips" on YT combined. I have really enjoyed it, watched it multiple times while playing the game and getting own experience. Only at one point, I have to disagree. It is your statement about sheaperds needing an extra way to convert coins into points at minute 33. I found this to be not neccesairy. If, for example, i am on the sheep market with full five sheaperds and many coins, i simply buy more sheep more expensive. 20 coins on the market? No problem, I buy two of the 6-point-sheep. This could be better then to try to pull off a second strategy for the last two rounds. - I would really appriciate to watch some competitive GWT NZ game play videos, as you did for GWT original.

    • @UpUrPlay
      @UpUrPlay  7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Heh it's not going to be easy, but I was able to play some on stream against high rated GWT players. Let's see if I can get one on YT in the future ;)

    Thank you, Mario! How would you rate this version compared to the the original GWT?

    • @UpUrPlay
      @UpUrPlay  10 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      The original GWT is a tight, interactive, balanced and very competitive game. It's still my favourite one even after all these years. On the other hand NZ is more laid back, stuffed with many shiny things that make the experience very different in each game. There are more viable strategies , but the overall game isn't as tight. I think if you're an explorer kind of gamer you might actually like NZ more than the original. Me being me, as a competitive player, the original game is still unparalleled. But I play NZ a lot since it's so much fun

    I like your strategy videos, but the audio is harsh on this one. After a bunch of solos, I tend to play balanced workers. Get a sailor, one or two Shepards or craftsmen. Sometimes go heavy shearer. Depends on the market and number of Wild workers.

    • @UpUrPlay
      @UpUrPlay  11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Thanks for the feedback. I'm hearing you guys. It was a last ditch, trying to record myself without a mic. I'm gonna get one, or a decent headset, at this point

    • @firebound12
      @firebound12 11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I realized that too. You can't just ignore 3 worker types and gun for your specialization. One sailor, one builder is my opening now. Then specialize in one thing.

    • @UpUrPlay
      @UpUrPlay  11 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      @@firebound12 While I agree it happens often to get other workers, I still think it's possible to specialize and be rewarded. And while I also agree that both an early sailor and an early builder are useful, I encourage you to explore a bit more. In a lot of setups an early Sheep Shearer can work wonders, and an early shepherd in a coin rich setup can lead to an early value 6 sheep
