Hey sister--this is a great video! I'm really blessed by your and James' ministry, and your guys' passion for the Lord is quite contagious :)
I'm also encouraged by your passion for the Lord, and for the Biblical vision of masculinity and femininity. I just want to encourage you that I think there are roles for women leaders in the church. You're absolutely right that the office of the "presbyter" (often translated "elder") is a masculine role; the authoritative teaching office is designed to be occupied by church fathers. So you're right that radical feminism and egalitarianism has infiltrated the church and made a mess of things. Anglicanism--my own tradition--has suffered quite a bit from the nonsense in Canterbury and elsewhere.
That said, there is a robust, wonderful place for women *leaders* in the church--and even teachers in a non-presbyterial capacity. Consider that Priscilla and Aquilla both teach Apollos privately (Acts 18:26), that Deborah exercised a bold prophetic ministry in Judges 5-6 (with no indication in the text itself that she was a prophetess because there wasn't a man to do the job), and Phoebe was a deacon. In 1 Timothy 3, the provisions about deacons are often translated "deacon's wives", but the problem is that it doesn't say "deacons wives" in the original language. John Chrysostom, a preacher in the 5th century, writes this of 1 Timothy 3:11 - "Some have thought that this is said of women generally, but it is not so, for why should he introduce anything about women to interfere with his subject? He is speaking of those who hold the rank of Deaconesses." Chrysostom also wrote that Phoebe in Romans 16:1 was a deaconness.
The Apostolic Constitutions, which contain ordination prayers from the 4th century, has the following prayer for the ordination of female deacons:
"Eternal God, the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Creator man and woman; who didst
with the Spirit replenish Miriam, and Deborah, and Anna, and Huldah; who didst not
disdain that thine only-begotten Son should be born of a woman; who also, in the
tabernacle of the testimony and in the temple, didst ordain women to be keepers of thy
holy gates; do thou thyself also now look upon this thy handmaid, appointed to the office of
a Deaconess; and grant her the Holy Spirit, and cleanse her from all filthiness of flesh and
spirit; that she may worthily discharge the work which is committed to her, unto thy glory,
and the praise of thy Christ; with whom glory and adoration be to thee, and to the Holy
    Spirit, forever. Amen"
This is a great article that shows that women actually served in robust ways as deacons in the early church: sites.hofstra.edu/phyllis-zagano/wp-content/uploads/sites/12/2019/07/2018-Women-Deacons-and-Service-at-the-Altar-TS.pdf

      @Jesusistruth3  11 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

Non of these examples are in context of the deacon role in the church. If you continue reading in the context of the church in Timothy 2:12 you will have your answer…God bless you

    • @anglicanaesthetics
      @anglicanaesthetics 11 หลายเดือนก่อน

@Jesusistruth3 Thanks for your reply! In 1 Timothy 3:11, Paul says that "women" should be self controlled, faithful, etc. That often gets translated "wives", but the problem is that it lacks the possessive (so the way to indicate a husband of someone, for instance, would be to say "her man"--that gets translated husband). The native Greek speaking church fathers (Chrysostom and Origen) took that as a reference to women deacons. Phoebe, in Romans 16:1, is spoken explicitly as a "deacon of the church".
Now, again, none of that is to disparage your heart for Biblical faithfulness and rightful concern against radical feminism. And it's certainly not to blur the roles for church fathers as the presbyters/elders of the church, or men as the self-giving head of the household. But there's also a really wonderful role for church mothers as well to lead under authority!
There's a really good book called "The Complementarity of Women and Men" edited by Paul Vitz, and also a much shorter book by Abigail Favale called "The Genesis of Gender" (both Catholics--I don't agree with them on everything, but they have a lot of good insights on gender complementarity).

Hello, I am usually a silent viewer but have been so blessed by your videos. Thank you for sharing them.
I am only 10 minutes in (I will watch the rest of the video tomorrow), but completely agree with what you have said about our role as Christian women. However, in my 12 years as a Christian (I'm now 30), I have always felt very alone in my understanding of scripture and convictions from the Lord about this. I can find it difficult, and wondered if maybe I was wrong, as others have always had an answer as to why I am. I now mostly keep my understanding of women's Biblical roles to myself (apart from my husband who has come to mostly the same understanding as myself). While I love our church, I know that they believe differently than I do, and there are sometimes women preaching which often grieves my spirit. I just want to be pleasing to the Lord, and ask that I may look more like Him.
May I ask - have you always been bold as a Christian? And have you ever felt alone amongst other believers? This is definitely something that I can find hard. As the years have gone by, God has been refining me, and taking me on a beautiful journey of truly submitting to my husband, motherhood, Biblical femininity, homeschooling, and modesty. I make mistakes, but am so thankful each day for His perfect love and grace. I can just sometimes feel like not many people really understand me, even other believers. I hope you don't mind my long comment, haha! Thank you :)

Yes this completely makes sense and I can relate! It’s been a difficult path to walk since it seems these convictions which are strong in us don’t seem to cross many others minds in the church, the church has fallen so far in line with the world and the culture that if you stand for biblical truth and convictions you can be seen as overly religious or legalistic so we try to keep quiet, I suppose I’m our spoken about it since I feel as if I’ve been backed into the corner so to speak with many women putting this role of teacher on to me since I’m a pastors wife so I’ve had to speak out about it… sounds to me like you know the truth and the Holy Spirit is showing you through your convictions…. It’s just so hard to find a church that is strong in those convictions too. Have you tried any Calvary chapels near you? Although they are also hit and miss as they are autonomous. Bless you sister praise God your hearing and are sensitive to the Holy Spirit xxx

@@Jesusistruth3 thank you so much for your encouraging reply, I really do appreciate it. When I was first born again I felt so bold to stand for truth, but I allowed others around me (including believers) dim that light. Over time, I noticed that I had become a lukewarm Christian, I was neither hot nor cold. This last few years I have truly seeked the Lord more than ever before, taking the focus off of myself and my desires, and overcoming many fears. I have been on a beautiful, challenging journey of fully surrendering to the Lord, and your channel has been a real light to me. In regards to church, this is something I am praying about.

Thank you for sharing God’s order and that anything else is rebellion. Can you do a video for women who are not married and without a physical covering in this world and do not have a role of wife, mother, or homemaker to her family. Although femininity is not restricted to those roles, unfortunately by default some women need to take on more masculine roles as the only one in her home in order to care for herself with the support of Christ, of course. I struggle with who I am really supposed to be with and I don't feel like an abomination... I'm just not sure what is the right thing to do. I feel cursed often and I don't feel I deserve to feel that way for how I was naturally formed and born. I never fit into life with Men or Women, it gives me SO much insight on both... but I am still an outsider

She is her husband's greatest earthly treasure, his rock, advisor, friend and companion. We husbands could not be the men of God that we are without our dearest and most precious friend. Today, Marilyn and I celebrate 53 years of marriage, 49 of those years in ministry. We, pastors, could not minister for a week without the loyal and faithful support and love of our wives. What is the role as a single woman? Is it biblical to live alone and take care of yourself? How do you feel about the woman not wearing pants and all that? Because the Bible isn’t specific on that it just said to dress modestly. I personally like to wear sweatpants and hoodies idk if that’s modest.

Theres a way to behave in a physical church setting. 1 Timothy 2:14 points out the vulnerability of women over men to be first deceived. Order and womens submission to man is for the good of everyone in the church. Its pointed out that Aquilla and Priscilla were discreet in Acts 18:26 when they taught Apollos what they had learned from their leaders, I believe that their discretion in taking Apollos aside in this verse speaks volumes. Thanks!

Having said that, the verse uses "explained to him" and not "taught him" in the verse for good reason I think. Humility for women particularly is key. 1 Corinthians 4:7
For who maketh thee to differ from another? and what hast thou that thou didst not receive? now if thou didst receive it, why dost thou glory, as if thou hadst not received it?

I would love to come to your conference 🤗 Can you recommend places to stay?
As for your conviction on the role of women i agree with you 💯. We shouldn't be surprised at just how far the Church has fallen away from Biblical truth. A passion of mine is speaking out against the Churches cavalier and watered down/apostate stance on divorce/remarriage. I have recently been convicted that all remarriage after divorce, whilst the Covenant spouse is alive, is ongoing adultery/polygamy. Needless to say it dosen't go down well as it dosen't placate the flesh. Christians today have conveniently forgotten that reoentance comes before forgiveness and requires an active and visible turning away from sin. Picking up our cross daily and dying to our flesh. We have become no different from the world petulantly demanding that our feelings are not hurt and our happiness is an entitlement that God makes His priority! The Church must repent of its waywardness and course correct and fast! There is no time to waste. Keep up the good work Chelsea. Your faithfulness and servant heart will be rewarded in the next life if not in this 🤗💖

Women should not desire to compete for authority with men. A woman in the church should be a compliment to man’s authority, godly men. To compete for authority exposes a heart problem of not wanting to be in the position God designates for the woman, yet to desire that position is a strength and joy irreplaceable for it’s our proper place as women to joy in that role God gives for his purposes. To glorify God rather than yourself, as such who seek glorying in their own power are glorying in their shame and truly is an act of rebellion. How can one think otherwise and fear the Lord at the same time? It isn’t possible to serve two masters. Choose ye this day whom ye will serve. God truly gives good gifts, and giving a grave pastor a grave wife in the Lord truly is a good gift from God.

I do agree that God has an order. I guess i just don't think we are meant to sit in the corner quietly until the men want a sandwich. We also live in a fallen world where men aren't exactly doing the right thing either (without being overly feminist about it) so i guess I'd rather cover that in the blood. I dunno. I love your videos anyway. I've been following you since the beginning. This won't put me off. Even though we're Christians we're all different and being shown different things.

But that’s not what I’ve said, we have so many honourable roles as woman. Being quiet and making sandwiches is a bit of a straw man argument. I hope you consider this subject and ask the Lord for Him to show you in His word and pray about it 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻

@Jesusistruth3 maybe. It's just i think you have a lot of valuable things to say and realistically It's probably going to take womens voices to combat feminism. Some women have their husbands overlook their social media posts and give him final word on what goes up. I don't want to argue against what God has told you though. I'm just not there yet maybe. My church has a Male leader and it does seem correct even in an intuitive way, but he does allow the women to minister when they have something to say. I have found womens voices helpful in unravelling the feminists conditioning. I was never overly feminist to start and i never was interested in pursuing men who were weaker than me, but we've all had a taste haven't we.

I am not quite 100% in agreement but mostly I am I believe in female deacons as I understand the role. You are an authority and have a prerogative in these matters of a woman’s role because you are a woman in Christ

Hi Chelsea…do you and James have a Patrion account or donation button? I love you both, really believe in your amazing Christian work and ministry, and am led to gift you on behalf of the Lord for the love and seeds you are sewing.
It would mean a lot to me to be able to donate regularly.
    Love in Christ,

@@Jesusistruth3 ok…be looking for a donation from William…I plan to donate this amount to James’s and your ministry every month. Will place it on a monthly repeat cycle.
Thank you both for the love you give and work you do for the Lord, for staying unwaveringly true in these dark times of rudderless relativity, and for being consistent wonderful examples to me so many thousands of miles away.
God’s love and light is never bound by time or geography 🙏✝️❤️
