I must have heard this acoustic live version many many times over 30 years - kept going back to it - incredible atmosphere & sound created by just one vocalist and 2 acoustic guitars.
I remember as a young boy, stealing this cassette tape from my mom and dad and jamming this, I was mesmerized as I still am today. This is my favorite album to date. Love the raw sound. It's electric without being so. I'm now a 38 year old man still rocking this now digital album just as much as I did so many years ago.

It's always been so weird to have attended a concert that was later released as a live album... and I've replayed hundreds of times. We had no idea what to expect, as we didn't know the show was acoustic until the paper tickets showed up at the house. Fantastic show.
That and it was supposed to be NY not Philly you guys got a classic 😁
@@Calidude80 I've seen concerts in the Philly area and the NYC area... Philly is a rock town... and the audience gets into it (and also riots if you eff them over... Looking at you, Axl)... NYC audiences are comparably boring. Must be something in the wooder. ;-)
I was also at the Tower Theater when Rob Zombie recorded the live version of the Living Dead Girl music video... that was also originally supposed to be recorded in NYC, IIRC.
@@buckykatt7097 Right on man! Sorry for the delay. I always got those vibes from Philly by the way everyone was rockin out to the acoustic stuff. That night must have been so much fun. These guys are royalty in my town. Such real dudes nothing fake about them. Had to smile when the cover of signs blew up and MTV got them to play a gig. Days gone by but man it was great.
@@buckykatt7097 I've been to many concerts and shows in Philly and New York as well and I have to disagree with you on New York audience's being boring have you ever seen a concert at MSG I've seen Phish and many rock bands there and that place was rocking ✌️✌️

I was a teenager when they started and I can remember driving into town to meet up with my friends and have these guys playing along with Bon Jovi, Guns n' Rose's, Aerosmith and all the other big hair bands that was on our radios playing in the 1980s. What a time to be there and having your own wheels to go anywhere you wanted and since I had my Chevy pickup I could haul more people to the parties we had while the music kept playing on my stereo. Great time with some of the greatest musicians during that time, just like the music from the 60s and 70s, awesome and those days are historic memories for us who were there to hear those songs when they recorded and played them live.
Were missing out these days!

Five Man Acoustical Jam was by far my favorite album. Had tickets to see them with Judas Priest back in the day and sold them so I could work 🙄 Then had another chance to see them here at a festival in Switzerland but dude was having some voice issues so I skipped it…then the pandemic.🙄 fml 🤣🤣✌️🇨🇭

I can see why Tesla does “Seasons of Wither” as well as other Aerosmith songs so well: Jeff Keith. He’s a powerhouse singer similar to Steve Tyler with a side helping of Axl Rose. But no mistaking, he’s one of a kind.

I don't want to bore anyone with the stories of my youth... but in 1991 my dad took us to Pennsauken, NJ where there was a well-known flea market and of course with my savings, which were exactly $12, I went to shop, for music... there were no clothes, nor makeup that could interest me. I went there to see what I could find that was "familiar" to me... I went into one of the used record stores and I didn't have a record player (much less CD player) but I was REALLY lucky they had cassettes of bands of that time on sale, the SIGN said: "3 x $4each" then said "or $5 for one"... at that time that was quite a bargain considering most cassettes were about $9.99 if you were lucky, because the LP record was $12.99 and up and let's not even mention the CDs that were around $15-20... Anyway, I was looking for Bon Jovi cassettes if possible... but to my "dismay", Bon Jovi is "Jersey's boy", you'd be lucky to get anything from him there, unless you wanted to spend about $15 which was way out of my budget... I went to look at the big stand for rock bands, which to me was the only thing worth looking at. I found the cassette of Aerosmith "permanent vacation", the cassette of Cinderella "heartbreak station" and I couldn't decide what else to buy because there was no Guns & Roses (too hot to find at the time lol)... well... I looked for a while, and took a cassette in my hands, which was called "Tesla live in Philadelphia, 5 man acoustical jam" (I wish I still had it... I don't know what happened to it though I own the mp3 album)... and it caught my attention right away... a band I had never seen or heard at all. I will tell you that of the three cassettes, that one became my favorite... and eventually I got to see the Philadelphia Trocadero theater on March 23rd 2014 (Gary Numan) the same place where that concert was... so I was not left with the curiosity of where that concert occurred... still, I get a lump in my throat... when listening to this song...... TESLA, these young boys had a tremendous gift and they were no more than 20 years old. 👏😍
I was there for the five-man acoustical jam and it was one of the best shows I've ever seen in my life and I've seen kiss AC DC Lynyrd Skynyrd Molly Hatchet Def Leppard

@@sadismo Yes, I'll be 67 in January 2023. I couldn't save the girls I was in love with from their fate because they preferred to be with bad guys. That happened to me 3-4 times in my life and then my heart was dead. And now I'm too old for a passed and discarded woman. They had their chance. If you make music yourself, it's better that way. Times are gonna get very bad now (great reset etc)

"Five man acoustic jam"??? If there not, I can honestly say that there the first hard rockin ass band That I can think of that had the balls to say fuck the power company! We don't need em! And set down together and made gold! I still love that album! Sure kiss took a turn at it along with whole buncha other folks when MTV jumped on the band wagon with there unplugged series. But was it not these innovators who done it so dam good that it made everybody want to try it? I ain't never heard nobody give them any credit for it but then again, these Boys ain't never got the credit they deserve for anything in my opinion. I can't help it, I love the shit outta Tesla! One of the greatest bands to ever hit the stage!!!
And of course he won two weeks later tried out for City kids same trip my car late at night kind of cold you know up in the mountains awesome he won that got that job and City can't he changed it to Tesla and the rest is history what are awesome life he's had
