This is one of the most wonderfully put together songs, the layers, the swell of the guitars coming in, the soulful vocals, the guitar solo duel, so much going on and then those backing vocals and piano and organ, and you can hear every note! It is so beautifully produced, performed and arranged

I saw the Crowes in a small bar while home on leave in the early 90's. I stood in line with Chris, between sets, waiting for a beer like everyone else. He was very generous to the fans and a "regular guy." Their first album was just getting airplay at that time. I heard "She Talks to Angels" for the very first time that night, like most of us. The following night, I saw them open for ZZ Top at the Joe Louis Arena. Getting to see the Black Crowes in such a small venue was a highlight of my youth and an evening I'll never forget. That bar, as well as the Joe Louis Arena, are both gone now. Getting old sucks.

They went and grabbed two sistas in the middle of choir rehearsal and told them to get on the mic because their voices are pure gospel, honey. This song attracted me because of all its bluesy soulness, and Chris' voice is straight fire. The groove goes so deep. It's so hard to believe this was almost 30 years ago but I still wear them out on my playlist rotation. 💗🔥🔥

I watched this in 1993, as I was beginning to get good at learning to play rock tunes by ear on the guitar, and it just blew my mind. I thought to myself that making music in such settings with my buddies was basically the apex of what life could ever offer to us mortals.
I also recorded this video from a TV show (there was no MTV available for me at the time) on a VHS tape, so I could watch it before going to school. No need to say how that helped get countless great days started.
I remember back when I was in high school, I'd sleep with my stereonon all night, and this song would came on every night around midnight, and I loved hearing it come on. Man, I love little simple memories like those.

One of my favorite bands ever. I have seen them four times and each show, they left it all out on stage. Their sound is so tight and dynamic live.
I DON'T REMEMBER HOW MANY TIMES I'VE SEEN THEM. WHEN THEY WERE JUST STARTING OUT I SAW THEM AT A CLUB IN HOUSTON, TEXAS. THE A/C WAS OUT BUT HE SAID ,,"IF Y'ALL WANNA STAY WE'LL PLAY" IT WAS 100 DEGREES OR HOTTER IN THERE BUT THEY PLAYED & CHRIS DANCED LIKE HE DOES. IDK HOW HE DIDN'T PASS OUT. I WAS RIGHT UP FRONT. SWEATING MY BUTT OFF AND I WASN'T MOVING AROUND LIKE THEY WERE. I'M SURPRISED I DIDN'T PASS OUT. THAT CLUB STAYED PACKED THE ENTIRE TIME THEY PLAYED. TALK ABOUT A DEDICATED BAND. THIS WAS RIGHT AFTER THEIR 1st ALBUM CAME OUT..I WAS ALREADY A DEDICATED FAN. DANG. IT WAS HOT IN THAT CLUB. IT WASN'T EVEN A BIG CLUB. WE WERE PACKED IN THERE ALL SWEATY.
Saw them in concert in Knoxville. They totally rocked. May have sounded even better live. Great band!!

I saw Black Crows open for Grateful Dead in April 1995 in Tampa, Fl. I was 20. From what I remember it was amazing even in Jerry's declined state. Crows blew my mind that day. Truly an incredible live band.
I did the Birmingham Al shows that year. Great shows. Sad year.
Well I just checked it was April 4th and 5th in Birmingham wow synchronicity.
That was the last Jerry Show I saw I'm fifty-nine now I started following them in 1980

Saw these guys in Salina, Ks. At a venue called the Steifel theater. About 15 years ago. Might have been a hundred people, but they played like there was 10,000. I was broke and bought the cheapest ticket available. Nose bleed balcony seat. Ended up about 10 rows back dead center. I went from being a casual fan to having them live in my soul. Forever greatfull I got to see them. ❤

I remember when Smith and Barber played this band for the first time on the radio. Epic!!!!!!
This track reminds me of earlier days in the early Eighties. By the end of high school I had my license and inherited my mum's Chrysler station wagon. My younger brother played drums, so I got roped into roadie duties now and then. One long week-end we drove about eight hours, with Made's drum kit in the back, north of Sydney to a commune in the coastal bushland of Bundagen. It was night by the time we got there and a party was in full swing. A band was playing, beer, food and other 'goodies' were being passed around, half naked girls and guys were wafting and twirling about the place. There were three guitarists on stage in addition to the bass player but they seemed to be able to put their egos aside and just groove along together. Kinda like the Black Crowes; they had that natural groove feel.
