I'd love it if in addition to the 'Manual', 'Road', & 'Yard' modes for AI they'd have a 'Passenger' setting that automatically visited each station going back and forth. Automate the passenger train so that I can just run my freight in peace. You could even automate the CTC along the main line to keep trains moving while letting the branch lines remain manually switched.
This. Also an "auto-wye" would be nice since turning the passenger train around at each end is a bit tedious, but that's most likely outside the scope of the game. Realistically we just need friends that don't mind running the passenger service
I think if they put signals at the stations and make it where the "station master" can control them with dispatch permission. So you don't have to use fuesees to have the ai train stop.
Soooo, I had the observation car on the rear, but a helper engine behind that and it did not give me the bonus. I think it has to legit be the very last car of your train.
The only issue I've really had was fps rate was struggling hard through Bryson only because I had to much stuff there. My fixing was either turning down the detailing or emptying the yard.
I did use the G25 Mogul to deliver both machine tool cars to the two copper mines, it was working hard, but is probably the heaviest thing it needs to push up there (taking both in 1 trip).
Good luck with the signals, I started a whole new save to get rid of them (this was before the devs mentioned the revert command). Will be watching with interest to see if I was too hasty to get rid of them. My main issue was that trains passing signals at caution not green will crawl all the way to the next signal at 20mph even if that signal goes green, fair enough, the AI can't 'see' the next signal until it gets to it. This is a big map and it gets a lot bigger at 20 mph. Things that will set a signal to caution include a train in the next block and points set anywhere in the signal block sending the train into a dead end (points set against the train anywhere before the next signal will make set the signal to stop). To keep trains at full speed you need to have every set of points the train will pass set correctly and have no trains in the block you're entering and the block in front of that. Combine that with me being a solo player where nothing moves until I tell it too and will stop before it hits anything and the signals were more hassle than they were worth. You can't push your passenger train, you have to have an observation car at the back with nothing behind it to get the bonus.
The signals override the yard commands which is a pain. Also things seem to be messed up at the ends which are still to be connected to Silva and West from Bryson. Playing solo I just ignore the CTC manual option. However the next evolution of the AI for Railroader may change this.
I'm thinking of using the S-53 as a banker for the Nantahala-Topton Grade, there's servicing facilities at Nantahala, so it could base there. I'm just finding that anything over 500tons on a 40-45K tractive effort can be a struggle... and can result in a shortage of water.
Schnauzahpowahz - RE: 4070Ti. I have one too. Mine would ramp up like crazy and make my office very warm... but then I enabled the frame rate limiter, and now the fans typically don't even spin up at all.
I hated it also that they cut the tree density but I assume they did for lower end pc players complaining its lag or causing issues, but good news is that they just released a new patch to bring it back which is much better. When it was reduced it really made the tracksides bare. I only bought the game a few days ago and I only knew it as open sparse areas and instantly not too impressed with the surroundings of working areas, but seen in your videos that it had much more tree details and looked better. I also hear my gpu fans going off with this game but I assume its due to poor optimization, which it has because I get lag spikes now and then and running it on very high from high is a huge difference in performance with very little to no visual impact. which Im sure will be done at a later date. Maybe some optimization is something they could look at for now and then leave the rest til later but it does get that gpu exercising thats for sure. Its amazing how flora really adds to detail without detail if you know what I mean. Just like adding plants in and around your house. It brings the surroundings alive. Now they just need to bring some life into the forest itself with some fauna along the tracks and other details around the towns and along the tracksides like broken carriages or little side huts or poi's. Game has a lot of potential, even to add extra lines, cars and engines at a future date as dlcs or otherwise. It could become the ATS of railroads but it will def need more assets to make it work.
expand to Bryson first as Sylva is a long journey there and back the small grades alone will kill your starter Engines in game alone, and only selected locomotives can pull that run off well, as there aren't any engine services down that way until you unlock it by doing a Milestone. even if you do unlock the milestone to build engine service all your inbound freight will now interchange at Sylva Not Witter so that means you had to battle those grades and distance every time you interchange freight " just a heads up for you "
I went Sylva first. And the starter locos had no issues. As long as you’re sensible with the train weights. But at the end of it, it’s your game, play it how you want.

@@taylorgregory610 why would that be outside the scope of the game?
There's a mod for this now

their fixing that

I think the 080 i got is overkill. The g25 may be a good idea, i kinda enjoy a challenge in RRer tbh
Maybe another Mike as well

New sub! Love the content! ✌

Irl thered often be at least 3 connies so that sounds about right.
Ive yet to reach the grade tho I'm eager to stall lol
😂 That mod launch option

So there's a green signal in both directions? Accident waiting to happen! lol
Edit: May be the 'player' mode as opposed to signal box.

I think the big locomotive would fit a 2-6-6-2 or a 4-6-6-4 that big as I would go, not a big boy or the 2-8-8-2 locomotive
I just started this game and have been working the Whittier mill. Where should I expand to first?

What cpu and to gpu do you need for this to run smoothly? Thanks
How come you have v-sync option? I can’t see that in my game settings 🤷🏻♂️
A mod
There are hot keys for each menu
Why can they fix the chuff rate on the steam engines…
Pretty sure those sounds are just placeholder, enough to hold over until they can get to redo them
@@taylorgregory610 hopefully that’s soon
whats up with sky
You can change the sky presets in the console
