Another super video Julia ....fabulous to see how immersed you are with the culture and people . From experience I know how friendly Cambodians are and you’ve clearly been accepted as a friend and more so one of the family ! 😍
Thank you so much for watching! This is my family here for sure. Since I started coming to Cambodia in 2015 I've been connected with Phany -- my sister and head teacher at the COC school. (as well as her twin sister Sophanin who also teaches there!). They have my back no matter what (if I'm sick for example) and I feel very loved.
People that live in the countryside practically live off the land which provided by mother nature without destroying it and that's what I love about it. And as they say, the poor are friendlier and more generous than the wealthier. Lovely video, Bravo!
Great video. Purple fruit is guava. Yummmy. I saw the PSB organic fertilizer next to the blue water tank. They're going green, healthy fruits. They can drill well water. Oh, they have well water. Yes, they eat bugs. Extra proteins. Abundance. Hahhhaha. Big beautiful farm. The tubers called yuca. U r very brave. Did u try the frog for breakfast?
Totally love your videos, it’s my first time watching your channel. Your genuine any open mind personality truly exposing your being as a person. As Cambodian, that traditional flute song brought tears to my eyes missing my homeland deeply as well reminiscing of Cambodian dark past and the nightmare that I experienced as a child. Thank you and enjoy Cambodia.
This message is SO beautiful... and really makes my morning. Thank you so much for watching. I'm glad to share the flute with you -- it is my dear friend playing and keeping the tradition of Cambodian music alive. Hopefully you will visit your homeland soon!
I love how adventurous you are Julia! You are indeed a brave and beautiful woman. Not many western women would even want to eat and do what you do. I also found this part funny for some reason 11:16 "That is just like disgusting but in a good way" 😂
happy to see you enjoy country life Julia.I will be doing the same with my Cambodian family sometime soon near Pursat.Hopefully i get to meet you someday.
I love this for you, the sound of that bamboo flute is very distinctive to Cambodians. Every time I hear it 😢it’s like the country is calling me back home. With love from USA.
Hi Julia, New subs 😁… thank you for a refreshing scenery…. Makes me miss my hometown. You embrace your new environment very well.. take care, much ❤ from California
Glad you had a chance to visit this lovely family in the country side. It looks so peaceful there and they are very resourceful with their surrounding. We're currently in Bangkok for a month. Cheers, Julia 🍷
You are amazing, enjoyed yourself and you are lucky to experience this kind of life no stress, anxiety like me working all the time here in America from 9 to 5. I missed my mother land Cambodia and hanging out with my Khmer people lot. I used to catch frogs and fishing at night, brings back a lot good memories. This flute music makes me a teary eyes. I wish I am in your shoe and enjoy the experience. Stay blessed and stay safe. Thanks for sharing your videos
Is there a chance you can move back to your home country? I find the quality of life is much better here than in America. In the US it's very focused on self, holding things close to the chest and that 9-5 you mentioned. While we still work very hard here, it's all about family, community and sharing experiences. I think it's what life is about. I hope to see you here soon. Sending love.
I’m Cambodian Thai American and lived in america all my life. And this my first time watching your video and dude they love you out there. So friendly. The laughter yah share. The shower experience I still do till this day learned it from my old school parent may they both rest in paradise. But truly amazing to see the joy in your face and voice that you loved and got to experience a taste of Cambodia. Wish I could go one day.
I'm positive your children are a divine blessings... and when they're old enough, you can come here with them and show them the beauty of this spiritual place!
Welcome to the typical rural life in Cambodia. For a foreigner, you fit in pretty well. Simple life,is a happy life. As a matter fact, I love that flute sound.
looks like good family fun. that is what a lot of us are missing living here in the west especially in the big cities. we tend to live alone and it can be quite isolating even though there are heaps of people around. in cambodia you interact and know everyone, your neighbors, relatives, shop keepers etc
The biggest reason... the heart of this country and why I am here, is the people and community. When I walk home at night, I literally wave goodnight to all the shopkeepers and neighbors. In the states everyone keeps to themselves and it can be very lonely and isolating. I feel warmth here..... xoxo
Great video Julia! I can totally relate to you having just spent 3 days living with a Cambodian family in Sisophon. Beautiful people! Back in SR now for a few months teaching at Heartprint 😊
Nice video! I have wondered about why most dont have hot water in their bathrooms even when bathrom bathrooms are in the homes….im guessing hot water heaters are not readily available and not really necessary..just a convenience. I love frog hunting and frog legs! Yummy amphibian!!! It looks like they have made the pond…im assuming they raise fish and frogs? Its a beautiful land and its hard to think that as early as the 1970’s horrible atrocities happened there due to war.
Not gonna do the bug or even frog thing...for a few reasons...& knowing it's something Klaus SWAB & Ilk enjoy seeing, let's just say I'm not motivated to appease the Institutional Agenda > however the off-grid Country m.o. has always been appealing👍 Looks like another cathartic experience in the book✅ Thanks for sharing as You do🙏
it's my dream to stay on similar places in Cambodia but i don't know if i can sleep as i use a c-pad to be able to breath during the night... BUMER !..i just need electricity...the shower don't scare me .i stay 7month in india ...and been french i love frogs [the legs].& fry insects..good job JULIA
Hi Julia, I just finished my teaching contract here in Phnom Penh and would like to spend a sabbatical month or more camping in the countryside, are there any rural venues or cities you'd recommend? Congrats for the channel.
Ooooh that's a tough one for me. I prefer a blend of the city and countryside.... I think Battambang might be a nice choice because it's VERY low key. Kep is also relatively low key and near the water. I wonder if anyone else might have better recommendations though!
Those are sour fruits - taste good. I want to live in the countryside and avoid the rat race. The banana flowers look like RPG about to be launched. Maybe that is why it scares you.
I think it's just a matter of what you grew up with and are used to, right? No sense in comparing. Every culture has really weird, kinda gross things -- in America I think American cheese is disgusting and I'm sure Khmer people would hate it. haha!
Chère Julia , toi même a vécu à la campagne et tes parents surement des conditions extrêmes , hivers froids , pluie , sécheresse , tu es dans tes gênes une fille de la campagne ! continue ton rêve !

Also, can I share Isaiah 53:5 " But HE was WOUNDED For our TRANSGRESSIONS, he was BRUISED for our iniquities; the chastisement of our peace was upon Him, and with His STRIPES we are HEALED." God the Father loves you so much that He sent Holy Sinless Jesus (His Holy Son) to earth to be born of a virgin. Then, to grow up and die on a cross for our sins. "There's a real hell. It says in Revelation 21:8 "But for the cowardly, & unbelieving, and abominable, and murderers, & immoral persons sorcerers & idolaters & all liars, their part will be in the lake that burns with fire & brimstone..." Please sincerely receive Holy Jesus and put your true faith and trust in Him today and please repent. Will you have a Real encounter with Holy Lord Jesus (Y'shua is His Hebrew Name) and stay in a Genuine relationship with Him daily please?

Google Pixel 7 or 6a is reasonable and supposed to be a good camera for night shooting. Most reviews mention it´s on a level like the iPhone 12 - 14
