The throwing knife nerf makes them pretty useless. I understand their hitbox was crazy, but when you have a projectile speed that slow and a game with the worst hitreg, you really needed it to be viable.
Yeah really sucks we can't kill someone in the span of 1.5 seconds anymore while being able to throw them literally half a meter next to them and it would still hit. Crazy.

As a Sword/Knife main ever since they were added (and also a fan of lateral game balance) I would often find myself saying, "aw missed my last- oh thanks for the free win game." I for one like to feel like I've earned a win through skill and strategy, not the game being clunky. Never touched a blunderbuss on principle, but have been using knives probably 90% of the time since they were added. Knife hits still feel just as rewarding, but there is less head scratching when a complete miss still gets a kill. And maybe I'll pick up a blunderbuss now that it seems like a proper piece of defensive kit instead of "the haha I win button".

The easiest way to lose someone in SOT is to row with the direction of the surf. The Rolling of the surf goes horizontal so it creats a great hidden barrier. I have noticed this as even on a sloop, that it catches great air as I sail into them versus along.
Yeah, the addition of harpoons and then rowboats were huge gamechangers. It's hard to describe how different the game was without them. No harpoons! You just had to keep jumping into the water to get stuff!

the blundy nerf took the fun out of this game for me tbh. i dont enjoy using a sword at all, so i use pistol-sniper now. and every fight just takes too long now
