@dkfca it's not getting removed. They just released full details of the transition. The palace said they are retaining their titles as the Sussexes, and they're not going to be stripped of that. They are also keeping some other titles like Earl/countess. The statement said they're stepping down as senior royals, not royals completely

They are no longer getting public funding, that's all. The Royal's have several private fundings, which Harry is part of because of his royal blood. In short they got things wrong. Ladies, they are still royals, just not working royals. This means that they have no say right now in the royal family unless they comeback. This also means that they still have titles. The Queen or the Palace simply does not want them to use those titles if you are not working for the Palace and her Majesty anymore. This is just like Prince Edward aka former King Edward VIII, he said goodbye to the crown and position but he was still prince by right. In short they are still Duke and Duchess of Sussex. And Harry will always be Prince Henry of Wales.

mo mo I know, people are acting like they are loosing their titles, it’s more like their titles are “dormant”. Not to mention there is Princes and Princesses of monarchies long gone. My parents are friends with a couple, the wife is a Princess where the country doesn’t have monarchy but the royal household still exists. M K they are still royals, they just won’t use their title. The best examples are Diana who was still Princess of Wales till her death and Fergie, who is still referred to as Fergie, Duchess of York. Both of them divorced their royal spouses and still have royal titles minus the HRH (Her Royal Highness) before their names.

Kacey M It’s a legally restricted word that can’t be used by just anyone, at this point only a minister/member of the government could allow it which would mean going against the Queen. They ONLY have titles (Duke and Duchess) because the Queen was gracious enough to grant Harry a title upon his marriage, she doesn’t have to grant anyone a title and she can provide or strip one as she pleases. The queens wish is as good as letters patent.

They wanted to prevent others from using their title. That's why it covered so many things in the the copyright. Remember that someone else in Australia was using the title Sussex royal on instagram. Had not used it for a few years and lost it, that's when they started using it.

Harry is still going to be rich even if he does nothing. The English monarchy has three different income sources: two private and one public. Harry and Meagan only gave up the public funds. Harry will still get a share of the other two types of private income. I think their re-branding should use Harry's real last name: Mountbatten-Windsor. That's the surname they gave baby Archie, so they should use it too and just brand themselves "The Mountbatten-Windsors". It can't be illegal to use your own name! First off, the British Royals aren’t the only royals in the the world! So do the royals in other countries not count? In the UK they are coming for Andrew. They are going out of their way to humiliate him, which he definitely deserves because he's not likely ever going to convicted of anything even if he did do something because he's an "internationally protected person". The issue that brits have with Megan and Harry is that they want to make private money while still getting a 20million per year security service paid for by the British taxpayer. They are already millions of dollars and stand to make hundreds of millions from their "brand". In short they got things wrong. Ladies, they are still royals, just not working royals. This means that they have no say right now in the royal family unless they comeback. This also means that they still have titles. The Queen or the Palace simply does not want them to use those titles if you are not working for the Palace and her Majesty anymore. This is just like Prince Edward aka former King Edward VIII, he said goodbye to the crown and position but he was still prince by right. In short they are still Duke and Duchess of Sussex. And Harry will always be Prince Henry of Wales.

They ONLY have titles (Duke and Duchess) because the Queen was gracious enough to grant Harry a title upon his marriage, she doesn’t have to grant anyone a title and she can provide or strip one as she pleases. Let's just be clear here though. Meghan has been treated horribly by the British press, not the British public. Many women have been treated disgustingly by the press here. One poor lady killed herself just last week - and it was the press that drove her to it after constantly hounding her. Her name is Caroline Flack. I am hoping that the laws change. It's not on.

I think their re-branding should use Harry's real last name: Mountbatten-Windsor. That's the surname they gave baby Archie, so they should use it too and just brand themselves "The Mountbatten-Windsors". It can't be illegal to use your own name! First off, the British Royals aren’t the only royals in the the world! So do the royals in other countries not count? Does the queen own the right to the Caribbean Royal, Royal Princesses Cruise Ship, Crown Royal, or the Royal Casino?
Second, Harry is a Prince of said family, therefore he was born a royal and will die with that same “royal blood” weather the Queen recognizes him our not.

Harry is still a royal by birth so what sense does it make that a person who is royal by blood and his wife aren’t royals anymore, but the woman who cheated on her husband and tried to extort money because of her royal connection, is still referred to as a royal? They are just reporting from the same media that has been writing racist and bias articles for the past three years. Not to mention this is a Fox network show.

In the UK they are coming for Andrew.
