Don't feel bad about the metal, we had a crew build our big pole barn and even they put half the panels on wrong 😂. Better you doing it wrong then to be paying someone who does it wrong 😉
Great job on the pump house. We always had our pump in our basement with a heated line to down to the well so I never had a pump house. I wanted to suggest that you place aluminum facial on your facial boards under the drip edge in both the house and pump house. The wooden facia boards are going to discolor or take constant weather proofing. This is also a good idea over your wooden sofit, but it is a bit more protectrf. It won't take long to put metal facial matching your drip edge. Generally then, there is a corner piece up against the facia and holding the sofit if you use metal. Probably by the end of fall, those exposed boards are going to look bad. If that more rustic look is what you are going for then leave them bare. Otherwise apply metal facia and soffiet. You may find now as well that you have to add some ventilation in the pump house. The can easily be done by cutting out chuncks in the wood soffit periodically and adding vented metal soffit all the way around the building. There are things I discovered as I was building a home on 200 acres of bush in northern Ontario, Canada. Jim

Seeing that gun on Jeremy side makes me so happy for y’all that he is getting to carry it for protection from wild life on your BEAUTIFUL land and not the violent ,vicious streets 💙
Your family is so fortunate to have all the animals, the garden, the wide-open space, and clean air. I never thought of sheep as cute or affectionate, but yours definitely are. I truly hope you don't have any issues with the wildlife this spring.
I think the Sheep enjoy getting in on the shot they want their on video lol. Obviously he loves his family. Pumphouse looks great. I'll be real interested in those game cam shots.
Well, guys, here we all are again. I just want to encourage you all in your new build, to keep on being the greatest team of Mom, Dad and your fantastic 4 children! You're raising great kids, who already know about doing their jobs at home, helping you guys out, when you ask. You are a Godly family and we all know how amazing God is and how you're both training up your kids in the way they should go but our natural inclinations are to do the least we need, yet your kids just get on with doing what you ask of them. Such great children. Good to see Kenji still living his best life and how sweet he and your gorgeous ginger moggie are with each other. Thank you for the vest vlogs! The Lord bless, keep and continually encourage you all.
"If anyone deserved a new tool belt", it would be this gentleman. With all the knowledge that you both have learned from this amazing project of building not only your home, but your GORGEOUS home among the beautiful country side and framed by those gorgeous mountains you begin another project! This I have no doubt will also reflect what you learned with such a challenging build, I believe this building will go much faster. I am sure people in the area will now be calling upon both of your expertise. I've worked with metal siding building my storage/pump room in Alaska and had suffered many a cut on my hands. Jeremy makes it look easy peasy but it sure wasn't/isn't. I love the fact that you both want things done right and tear it down if it isn't just done right. The winters there in Idaho often match ours in Alaska, even surpassing the bleow zero temps in the plains which amazes me that people don't realize while Alaska is in fact cold, there are places where brave souls build and live in temperatures in Idaho, Wyoming and Montana. Many residents still live very much the traditional life on the plains, with bitter correct very bitter winters that when reading about how these brave strong residence would have to go out in a "white out" and find a missing horse, or a cow and that can be a daunting task. I am excited to see your continuing build on the double garage/apartment. This will be also so much fun to watch, and peppered with family activities what a summer this will be. I can't wait to see what you find on those game camera's. I am also for the first time going to put one up since we seem to have a pesky young black bear just awake and hungry from his long winter sleep. I look forward to another successful build with a lot of fun with the children and those beautiful children. So glad your going to "smell the roses" during this busy summer's build and various other projects.
That orange cat is and has always been...the bomb! Tons of personality and I appreciate each time it's included in your B roll filming. Winding down that ladder like a pro was elegance personified!😸
Linda is a real character. Kirra is the cat lady. She gave us a cat named Kootnee. He is quite wild. We talk on FaceTime and kirra said that cat was well behaved when I gave it to you. I think you must have spoiled him. I just about fell on the floor laughing. She is very serious about her cats. They all must get daily attention from her.
So cute, the last vid Linda was climbing on Eli and now she is following him like a puppy. He must be her person! You guys always do (or undo) a great job no matter the project. My focus this time is on the animals as I lost my 11 year old cat to cancer 2 weeks ago. Just seeing the horses kick up their heels, Linda loving on Kenji again, the sheep coming to kiss you, Kira snuggling with kitty and Kenji always close by; so much love in you for everyone and all living their best life. You are living right.
The shed looks awesome! Good idea on the game cameras. Your home looks so perfect in such a majestic view. So peaceful and welcoming. Y’all have done such an awesome job! ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
You had to push to finish the roof over your heads, and everyone sacrificed much to get there. I'm glad your taking time for yourselves and the kids. This new build gets done when it gets done....Hawaiian time😉
I’m a little disappointed that you didn’t let the kids help with the pump house. Hopefully you can find tasks you can teach them so they can contribute on the garage/apartment. I wouldn’t even mention it but you said yourself it was a regret after finishing your home. My dad let me and my two older sisters help when he built our family home. We learned lots of skills but also learned that a lot of contributing is just helping by moving materials to where they were needed. Moving a load of 2x4s from the driveway to the saw taught us the sense of satisfaction. After a while we were marking 16” on center to help frame walls. They can only learn if you reach out to them and trust them to do your best.
It is so much easier to contemplate this build since your home is complete. I am glad that you will have the luxury to pace yourselves. Take the time this time to live, love and laugh and spend time being your family. You guys have done the hardest part. Now is the time to reap the benefits of all of that exertion. Enjoy life!
The building project slowly morphed into a work of Art. Two artist applying their building skills and talent on the new garage with living quarters. Live long and prosper for all of us.
A lot of people build massive and expensive homes but neglect to build a garage to protect their only means of transport, way to go you guys, right thing to do
Back to the begining, but the perspective has changed. The family has a safe, spacious place to thrive and the push for completion is much less. @@GoodSimpleLiving What would you think about making a blooper real every once in a while. You guys all have such fun personalities I think it would be great! Just a thought.....
I love that your kids all play together. It is how kids used to play, donkey's years ago. With the bigger kids playing with or looking after the younger ones. It is good for them. They learn a lot from it too - one thing being to not be selfish and to take responsibility.
I grew up with parents who renovated and built houses during my whole childhood, and honestly, I couldn't have had a better childhood in the sense that we were always together. One or both my parents were always at home and my childhood was like a long picnic. It wasn't until I was in my early teens I realised not all families built their hoses from scratch and sitting around the kitchen table assembling screws for the roof wasn't a common way for families to socialise. Much to my husbands surprise, his wife knows how to unclog a drain, put up an inner wall, and mix cement. Those are life skills
I always love seeing your kiddos outside working on the garden and playing outside. Them doing healthy stuff! Now then, the shed looks amazing finished and I’m excited to see your new build!!! God bless each of you!!!

Hi, I’m new here. I just subscribed and I wanted to say that if my grandparents hadn’t introduced me to you guys, I would probably have never known or seen your videos. Your videos are amazing and I love what you guys are doing.
Tool belt is well deserved Jeremy. Thank you Melissa for sharing your sprout process with us. All of your hard work, you guys should definitely enjoy this summer. Can’t wait to see what fun things you guys do. Lastly, you guys have such a beautiful place. Those mountains are beautiful!!
I remember my parents building our home in the early 70’s when I was a kid. Watching your kids playing around the house while you two work takes me back. My parents were diligent in the build but took precious time out to have fun with us kids too. So very important and the memories you all will have will be worth the extra time it takes to complete projects.
So looking forward to watching you take it easy and enjoying what you have built. Eli, Keira, Kenji and the cat are a show on their own, adorably entertaining ❤. All the best with the new build, your property is beautiful in how well organized it is.
Those game camera's would have to be a 'must'... just can't imagine living with bears... The pump house looks great, and I can't wait to see you start on the Addition. Love, love this family... God Bless...
I absolutely love how Kenji just lays in the middle of all your projects while you both work...so you have to work around him!! ,🤣🤣...he's just living his best life❤❤
Great plan to take this next build slower! Like you mentioned a few weeks ago, this is also your opportunity to have the kids participate more in the build! 😊
All that knowledge/experience that you have now will definitely make your next build so much easier and faster…hopefully. Everything looks so good! Jeremy, have the workouts helped to strengthen your back?
If I were you I would tape your wainscoting top seam to the white building wrap just to double protect from any water getting between the metal and the building wrap.
Jeremy, I watched you on the house and now the shed. In the past I have used cardboard to cut double angles that are difficult and then transfer the carboard to the piece that needs to be cut. It saves expensive material. You guys have done an amazing job. My wife and I also did a build that took the better part of two decades BUT we were both working full time and then some, plus having to be out of town some of the time. Keep giving young couples hope, in today's world they need it. God bless you and your family.
Youall should have your eldest son helping. This is valuable real world knowledge, I was at my father's side when I was 9 learning and helping in whatever I could even if it was how to properly hold the light for him.
So good to hear you’ll be able to enjoy the summer! You both do such a great job on your projects, no matter a few takedowns bc that just makes you better. Still so much fun watching your progress! Glad to see your snow is gone, we’re in Michigan and expecting 8-10” today! God’s blessings always!❤❤❤
The pump house looks great! I can’t wait to see the new build! I’m glad you have decided to take your time doing it. I love seeing your children play and enjoy. Love and Prayers Always
Here in Australia building with steel frames with metal sheeting attached is the normal way to build sheds etc. Corners are always covered by appropriate flashing, so your build was correct just need the flashing.
Well done you have finished your cladding, you have learnt so much doing that. I do like the two colour finish. Still a lot of work ahead, but at a pace to make it less stressful. Best wishes to you all from Mike. ❤
Spring is definitely in the air and it feels amazing to watch the world bloom. That sense of renewal that happens in springtime is refreshing to the soul!! It’s good to hear you speak of actually living life this summer rather than work so much. I’m sure the kids are ready for even more adventure!! I simply love your family dearly and you’re always in my heart and prayers❤️!! Thanks for being my Saturday morning brunch date😊
The shed looks great. It will look even better when you paint the door. I'm hoping that when you finish the shower and the closet, you'll do a full house tour like you did with the tiny house. That was one of my favorite videos you've ever done. I've watched it about 30 times now.
When I was a kid, sixty years ago, we used to cut all the small branches off the trees up to four feet in height and paint them with a compound to seal the cut from bugs. By doing that we cut down the fire risk and cut down on the ticks that the dogs picked up. Nice work with the metal siding, I have never used that type product, very interesting. - The retired Idaho accountant
Congratulations on finishing the shed👏👏 You have grown in experience and wisdom and I applaud your desire to put your knowledge in action in your daily lives...it's the journey, not the destination. Savor the time you have with your children as it is far too fleeting❤❤❤
I know I've said this before in the past how I enjoy watching all your videos. But I have never said anything about the view your family has to look at each day, you have a very, very beautiful back drop to look at daily. I can tell your children enjoy the place as much as you two. Looking forward to your next video and the start of your new project.
Good evaluation on your plans, going back to the real purpose of moving out in the locations your in, the children are the most investments besides providing a good homestead value as well. Good Job, parents ! 🤙👍
Eli is making wearing a flight suit as a daily outfit an acceptable everyday look, and for that we thank you! Keep rockin it Eli! Congrats on the new lumber package!
Does the manly sidearm negate the fanny pack? Lol! 🤔😂 The pump house looks SO GOOD!! One thing I love about your channel is it’s not just building, or farming, or family, or gardening, it’s all of it rolled into one, and it’s always a pleasure to see all of your lovely faces. ❤
I see the dog was working hard. The sheep was obviously ready for its close up so get Mr. DeMille on set. The cat was obviously supervising and did a safety check on your ladder. But on a slightly serious note, I would think about caulking your corner pieces at your middle joint where you notched them to keep water from running on the top edge under the corner, piece, and get to the corner and rot out the wood inside.
I giggled when Jeremy channeled his inner Borat when he was putting up the first corner piece. Very nice! ;) But I'm wondering why the garage was prioritized over the barn when you NEED the barn for animals and hay. If the barn was done, the hay could be in it and they could park in the big building, and if Neveah needed her own space, she could go back to the tiny home (parent's room is still a bedroom) for now. Just curious, really. Either way, it's all amazing. :)
I'm so in awe !! There's absolutely no way my husband would do ANY of the things Jeremy does !! I'd be happy with 1/3 the garden area !! So to watch you All work on this home build is unfathomable and amazing .
For someone who was diagnosed with cancer Kenji is surviving a lot longer than I would have thought. Here's to a lot more time with your family.
Lots of prebiotic and the best real food we can give him. He doesn't know he's supposed to be sick so he just keeps on.

Your family is such a blessing to me to see your wholesome content keeping y'all in my prayers GOD BLESS YOU ALL
Have a blessed weekend 🙏 thanks again 🙏
All I can come up with is “Awesome” everything looks great including the kids, animals and the homestead ❤
You guys are perfect, sharing ND caring, wat dah world needs. Blessings you dah both ND awesome Lil helpers.👍👍👍👍👌👌🌺🌺
Almost half a million people love your family and can't wait for the ride.
Metal cladding - the struggle is real.
OMG can’t wait for this one, you will be safe and sound and not bunched up like the last build. Enjoy the process again .
The shed looks great. It will look even better when you paint the door. I'm hoping that when you finish the shower and the closet, you'll do a full house tour like you did with the tiny house. That was one of my favorite videos you've ever done. I've watched it about 30 times now.
That's the plan! Very soon!!

Can't wait to see the garage/apartment build. Congratulations on the pump house being done. God bless y'all.
Great job, it’s important to take time with family, they grow up before you know it, don’t have any regrets enjoy every minute xx
Congratulations on finishing the shed👏👏 You have grown in experience and wisdom and I applaud your desire to put your knowledge in action in your daily lives...it's the journey, not the destination. Savor the time you have with your children as it is far too fleeting❤❤❤
Thank you so much!
That looks so Good
I know I've said this before in the past how I enjoy watching all your videos.
Thank you!! Yeah I had to buy 2 so I can rotate them out to wash them 😆
Simple Living I enjoyed the video. I pray no bears come near your house. God bless your family.
You guys are incredible! LOVE your new vids! So glad I found your channel!
It is so great to see a family work together to conquer projects!! ❤❤
Thanks so much!!
Hey! Good evening ( South Africa) ❤
I don't think anything negates that thing
@@GoodSimpleLiving LMAO!!! 🤣🤣🤣
Barn build begins in June or July. It'll go up fast.
@@GoodSimpleLiving Nice, I wasn't sure if I missed that in a video (I never miss a video!).
Good afternoon from the UK 🇬🇧
I'm so in awe !! There's absolutely no way my husband would do ANY of the things Jeremy does !! I'd be happy with 1/3 the garden area !! So to watch you All work on this home build is unfathomable and amazing .
Love seeing the kids and animals playing.
