The Queer Scottish Yiddish anarchist community would rise up in protest at this, except two of them were drunk, one was on a train and the other one was the cafe owner.

What on earth did you think hate speech laws were meant to do? Gradually they become “any speech the government finds offensive” ie “dissent against the authorities” becomes criminal. This was one of the conclusions in the US that lead to the refusal to acknowledge hate speech as legally existing. Which continues to fucking infuriate me that Silicon Valley gets away with imposing hate speech rules when they’re based in the US and such a thing legally does not exist.

@@___-cp6or The barrier to amending the US Constition is set very, very high.
You either invoke Article V or call for a Constitutional Convention, and there's only been one of those = the CC that formulated the original document.
With Article V you need super majorities in both the Senate and the House and 3/4 of the state legislatures signing on.
As the late and great SCJ Antonin Scalia said, paraphrasing, "constitutions that can easily be changed and cannot be enforced are not worth the paper they're printed on".
Unlike here in the US, UK courts cannot override Parliament, since Parliament is Sovereign and always gets the last word.

An easy way to tell apart Hebrew from Yiddish is *the presence of diacritical marks.*
In Hebrew you only find diacritical marks in books for children, to more easily tell how a word is pronounced. Someone who reads well doesn't need them.
In Yiddish you'll always see a few diacritical marks because the Hebrew Hebrew alphabet doesn't quite cover everything needed for a Germanic language like Yiddish.

The offence of BoP (under Scots law) would not cover this incident as BoP required a riotous and disorderly element. They are more likely being charged with a contravention of Section 38 of the criminal licensing and Scotland act 2010. That covers threatening and abusive behaviour.
There are issues in this case that didn’t make sense.
