Dark Daia logic. "Oh no, the little blue hedgehog hit my giant eye which is my only weak spot. I should expose my eye even more then open six smaller eyes large enough to be struck again. I'm a genious!!!"
That's why I'm saying that if you really wan't to play this game, pick it up on the Wii for dirt cheap. No sun/moon medal farming and you can just play the game normally. I really liked it on the Wii and then got it on Xbox and sold it after restoring the first Chaos Emerald due to it's inferiority in comparison to the Wii/PS2
Perfect Dark Gaia is the biggest finale I have ever seen in a Sonic game. Sonic and Chip are basically doing the fight to end them all against what is commonly known as the incarnation of all the evil in the entire universe. No other Sonic fight has ever matched this one.
I was like wow when you barely had any hp left as sonic, if i were you i would've been dead but you did it so fast XD Anyway epic final boss and music! And the 60x button press thing, my finger was in pain after that XD
@aetheora The werehog was an experiment. Some things worked, some didn't. I think that the beat-em-up idea has merit, but they didn't design the stages to take advantage of it's strengths.
I like to see the people who didn't like this game make one better.. this game had intense speed, great vistas, amazing storyline, tons of replay value.. i must admit i didnt like the werehog stages much at first but i grew to like them later on in the game, one of my favourite sonic games ever!
@darksword101 Yeah, that's annoying too. But I wonder whether or not the loading times are longer than the Digimon World 4 and Crash Bandicoot: The Wrath of Cortex loading times. 06's loading screens actually seem shorter, but FAR more abundant.
@LunarSonic well I just use the gamecube controller... and about the transformation a new one would be purposeless as he transforms throughout the game and he would only use the transformation once and never again
@werewolfsfury Well for one, to increase certain users button action. I know after playing sonic unleashed on the 360, I had a better understanding of the controller. Normally I would have raged and threw it.
Im sure that im not the only person whose noticed, but no matter much damage a final boss causes, not a single person(cept maybe in shadow the hedgehog) ever seems to die. Thats sega magic for you. xD
I just love this battle chip helping hand is really nice.. when u're going to kick gaia's ass and chip is by your side traveling, it feels just like macross xd
@miracapur what you don't see in this video is that when the stage is over, sonic go through Dark's Gaia Eye,,, and defeats him.. sonic is the one who does the killer blow
@TheInsanebrain247 No, it always stays there, because you're still running around with Chip following you, so it makes no sense if the planet is already fixed. I'm not sure if this is right, as I haven't done it, but I think if you complete the game 100%, it goes into place, but don't quote me on that. On the case of the indicators, it might be that you have some mini-quests to do for the townspeople, or some items to find or buy.
@vgman94 People will hate anything that is not at least as God of War. I mean - the werehog did not had the greatest fightning system but it was pretty good especially after upgrading combos. There are about 40 of these in total so it's not just mashing one button.
This is one of many things Sonic has over Mario; he fights things more threatening than his regular Archenemy(in the main series). Even When Eggman's the final boss, there's always an extra twist
Dark Gaia is shown to be one of the strongest creatures ever to appear in the Sonic series. It was able to fight Super Sonic to the point where he ended up fainting from exhaustion, something no foe so far has been capable of, and at the same time, take on Light Gaia, a being who supposedly should be on the same level of strength as Dark Gaia itself. Additionally, Dark Gaia (as shown in his perfect form) is one of the few enemies that is able to hurt Sonic while he is in his
Oh and I for got solaris ( mephiles+ifrit ) in sonic 06 witch also have shoot tha whoop. Wonder what's the next transformation of sonic and what will be the giant monster.
The conversation between DevilAkuma123 and Malameurtheninja are a perfect microcosm of the Internet, gaming subculture, and the TH-cam comments section.
After seeing this, I would imagine my heart beating fast when playing this final boss. That kind of happens when I'm already at the final bosses of the game.
Sonic Unleashed is my favorite Sonic game. It shows true speed at day and great platforming at night. Fanboys troll this game just because it has the werehog and it's not goddamn Adventure 3! It has beautiful graphics, fun and challenging levels as well as an epic final boss. I played every Sonic game and they were all amazing, just different. Yes, the fanboys troll around and act like if they own the place, but at least Sega now knows who are TRUE Sonic fans. Keep the good work, Sega!
@Santana2163 totally. the only thing that would top that is if the combined both versions of the final boss fight, like first you would play the xbox 360/ps3 version, then after you save chip , you take out the eyes with the wii/ps2 version. that would be awesome
@MGguy I think the Titans idea has it's place for a few more games, but Crash needs to be focused on more with new ideas and abilities. I got this idea for a pair of glaases that would give Crash temporary invisibility and this would be useful to hide from unbeatable enemies (unbeatable until you can deactivate something or hijack a robot or Titan with the power to defeat said unbeatable enemies). The slide, Crystals and Gems could come back with new form and use. Crash has a lot of potential.
actually I've noticed a slight difference. On the 360 the timer to gaia shooting his laser in sonic's parts of the battle counts up on the ps3 it counts down
classicrockrockz: But at least if you have a world map, you can go back to the same level if you want, and you can find all the secrets (Town people missions, etc.)
Man I love me a good old beam of pure evil every once in a while. That last button-spamming segment resisting Dark Gaia's ultimate weapon was truly satisfying when I did it, especially with the music playing during it. I only just wish that the physics weren't broken when Sonic flew THROUGH DARK GAIA'S THUMB. Kinda made me a little mad.
@IMLCREATOR Well on Wii version you must hit every eye while avoiding his arm attacks, one implying using 'em all at the same time. So I'm afraid it was REALLY that necessary.
For a more in depth detail on what I mean for the last part. Dark Gaia is simply a monster of destruction that destroys everything out of simple instinct. Bowser though is able to make an intelligent plan to thwart over everything. In Super Paper Mario and Mario RPG. He joins Mario because he wants the world to stay how it is so he can have more attempts to conquer it. If we made it like Sonic Unleashed. There'd be no way Dark Gaia would join Sonic. Though vast in power it won't think.
@ShadowFenrir2 I was talking about the 360/ps3 version. Way more balanced on the levels, there's as much day levels as night ones. That's the reason I don't understand why Wii had a better review, you just said it:3/4 is Werehog, 360/ps3 is 1/2.
May I ask you a question about the game? I've the PS3 version and I defeated the Perfect Dark Gaia and finished the game (trophy), but when I re-enter the game the last piece of world is still broken. Is it normal? Or I did a mistake and it didn't save the most difficult level? Thanks for helping...
@EarthCrash91 Wow, I found your comment 30 seconds after you posted it. Thanks. I'm glad to see there are some loyal Crash fans still out there who aren't so picky about little things. There should be more people like us.
is the eggmanland continent supposed to go back into place after you beat this. On the ps2 it does and people stop talking about the final battle. i've beaten this 3 times and nothing's happened.
@JaysonSR yeah i think they couldve donw more with the wii its still pretty good though definitely now as good as some other sonic games but still good also both 360/ps3 and wii versions of this game have their pros and cons but i can see what you mean
it's odd the way that sonic's quills stuck upward for the whole fight unlike in other games where, when he went fast in super form they would fold back into the shape of shadows. That might be why he dosen't lose ring energy:its like a form above super.
@GamerCherri I know how you feel. lost 4 lives while i had pressed square 57 times and lost the last one while i had pressed it 58 times. but what realy annoys me is that i have to play egg dragoon and normal dark gaia to try again :/
ok, i just beat this on ps3. it took about 4 and a half hours from the eggmanland level to the end. i almost cried at the last cutscene with chip going away, this is the best game i've played in awhile. can't wait to get another one.
@Raziel243 The day time missions weren't that great either. Older sonic games were about reaction time but the Sonic Unleashed day time levels are just about remembering the level design. The game was full of crashing into spikes that were impossible to see and then remembering the avoid them on the next life. My biggest complaint about the game however was the camera angles.
Look, I will END THIS! The battle is in 2 parts. First is in PS3/XBox 360 where all of the shield stuff is, and it leaves off after Chip gets hit by the beam and sonic flies at Dark Gaia. Then the Wii/PS2 fight with the eye blinding. That is the full battle. Either way, the cutscene afterwards makes sense. The battles are equal. One contains insane dodging and precision (Wii) and one contiains less dodging but more button skill. BTW the only problem on each is... I have to make another.
"CHIP! Be right there!"
Sonic's devotion to his friends is the best around. He may give them a hard time but that shows he cares.
Close your eyes and listen to 1:50-2:02
Fuck you :'(
LOL
Fuck You XD
+Albert ASGrr Canal Secundario I didn't understand it
why.... WOULD YOU SAY THAT!!!!!!!! I cant unhear it!!!!!!!!!! D:
This theme is still one of my all time favorites from the series. So damn good.
Dark Daia logic. "Oh no, the little blue hedgehog hit my giant eye which is my only weak spot. I should expose my eye even more then open six smaller eyes large enough to be struck again. I'm a genious!!!"
Am I the only one who thinks this is the best possible final boss music?
for normal dark gaia, i don't know why, but i think Iblis' phase 1 theme from sonic 06 would be awesome :P
but even now it's awesome :D
No matter how many times I watch this.I still cant comprehend/imagine the speed that Super Sonic goes.
Holy shit. If you compared the Wii/PS2 version to the X360/PS3, the games are so different. The only thing the same is the story and cutscenes
i originally played this on the wii after playing the 360 version i was like woah this is actually different.
And that's why I'm getting the game for PS3. I don't have any kind of Xbox :(
+Noah Cullen Well the Wii / PS2 are based more on the running stages while the 360 and PS3 are based more on the werehog fighting stages.
That's why I'm saying that if you really wan't to play this game, pick it up on the Wii for dirt cheap. No sun/moon medal farming and you can just play the game normally. I really liked it on the Wii and then got it on Xbox and sold it after restoring the first Chaos Emerald due to it's inferiority in comparison to the Wii/PS2
its because the wii dosent have the power like ps3 and xbox360
only a wii u could run it.
Probably the most epic fight ever in any sonic game :P PLUS teh awesome music.
Perfect Dark Gaia is the biggest finale I have ever seen in a Sonic game. Sonic and Chip are basically doing the fight to end them all against what is commonly known as the incarnation of all the evil in the entire universe. No other Sonic fight has ever matched this one.
What a beautiful and energetic music
lmao I just realized this:
Chip: "I'll get it's attention"
*Punch to the back of the head*
Yup, that is definitely a way to get something's attention!
This is like one of the most epic finishing battles I've ever seen on a video game!
I was like wow when you barely had any hp left as sonic, if i were you i would've been dead but you did it so fast XD Anyway epic final boss and music! And the 60x button press thing, my finger was in pain after that XD
i gotta say, every sonic game has the best and most intense final boss battles EVER.
the Endless Possibilities remix is just plain AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!!!!
i just love the music for this stage. it's epic :D
@aetheora The werehog was an experiment. Some things worked, some didn't. I think that the beat-em-up idea has merit, but they didn't design the stages to take advantage of it's strengths.
Although relatively easy, this was, by far, the coolest Super Sonic fight I've yet to see.
Amazing Sonic...you did it Sonic...you did it Sonic...Sonic, you did it.
One Tails is enough.
5:35 = perfect timing
This boss really makes you feel like you are Super Sonic!
I like to see the people who didn't like this game make one better.. this game had intense speed, great vistas, amazing storyline, tons of replay value.. i must admit i didnt like the werehog stages much at first but i grew to like them later on in the game, one of my favourite sonic games ever!
That's actually an impressive looking boss for a Sonic game O_o
i love the background music....crush 40-endless possibillitys
@Falcondick69 Alright, I'll take your word for it, I just don't plan on getting the same game for different sytems
this boss always gives me goosebumps
@darksword101 Yeah, that's annoying too. But I wonder whether or not the loading times are longer than the Digimon World 4 and Crash Bandicoot: The Wrath of Cortex loading times. 06's loading screens actually seem shorter, but FAR more abundant.
just hearing the song got me hyped up for this fight
@LunarSonic well I just use the gamecube controller... and about the transformation a new one would be purposeless as he transforms throughout the game and he would only use the transformation once and never again
LOLZERZ That was a super fun game! I didn't get hurt as much as you did though. Still, a great job 1stkirbyever!
@werewolfsfury
Well for one, to increase certain users button action.
Thats sega magic for you. xD

@miracapur what you don't see in this video is that when the stage is over, sonic go through Dark's Gaia Eye,,, and defeats him.. sonic is the one who does the killer blow
@Blooperguy229 Its okay, thats how the 360/PS3 version is. On the wii/PS2 version the world is actually fixed.
@razormoviez No, after pressing X 60 times it's over. Sonic just go forward and the battle finishes.
soundtrack's awesome
as always
@vgman94 People will hate anything that is not at least as God of War. I mean - the werehog did not had the greatest fightning system but it was pretty good especially after upgrading combos. There are about 40 of these in total so it's not just mashing one button.
@CRAZYBROCOLLI Both games are completely different, only thing similar are the cutscenes, and the running stages in the Dark Gaia fight.
This is one of many things Sonic has over Mario; he fights things more threatening than his regular Archenemy(in the main series). Even When Eggman's the final boss, there's always an extra twist
@mrguycrap I personally had more trouble doing the 360/ps3 version of the boss, but I think it's better than Wii/ps2 version.

i love how you beat him with ONE RING LEFT!
actually I've noticed a slight difference. On the 360 the timer to gaia shooting his laser in sonic's parts of the battle counts up on the ps3 it counts down
what else is sega team gunnna do then have some super version of sonic or another character fighting some giant monster in a giant empty space?
Chip: I Think those big snake things are creating the shield Sonic
Sonic: Uhh can you be more specific
@geasslelouch It's a concept that was scrapped before the first game even came out.
Great job man!
Dude thats diguisting how those tentacles just go put of his side
classicrockrockz:
But at least if you have a world map, you can go back to the same level if you want, and you can find all the secrets (Town people missions, etc.)

linneus thats just nasty but hilarious good one

epic battle sonic looked really serious
This is so much better than the wii version in every way imaginable.
just for a question. what will happen if you turn circles?
this is what a final boss is meant to be
For a more in depth detail on what I mean for the last part. Dark Gaia is simply a monster of destruction that destroys everything out of simple instinct. Man this boss looks awesome.
Super Sonic is so much more badass when he doesn't talk. Like in the Sonic Advance games, my DS was leaking badassness.
Oh that ending to the level made perfect sense...
hahahahah from 4:50 you press the button and it goes "ding dong" like a doorbell... real epic hahahah
@ShadowFenrir2 I was talking about the 360/ps3 version. Way more balanced on the levels, there's as much day levels as night ones. That's the reason I don't understand why Wii had a better review, you just said it:3/4 is Werehog, 360/ps3 is 1/2.

@82superawesome O.o why is it different? the ps2 version wasnt even made by the same people...
@EarthCrash91 Wow, I found your comment 30 seconds after you posted it. Thanks. I'm glad to see there are some loyal Crash fans still out there who aren't so picky about little things. There should be more people like us.
Even though resisting a massive beam of energy is pretty cliche, at 5:26, I felt a nice tingle down my spine.
isn't that backround music from the the song "endless possibility?"
is the eggmanland continent supposed to go back into place after you beat this.
On the ps2 it does and people stop talking about the final battle.
i've beaten this 3 times and nothing's happened.
I defeated this level at least 4 times. The background music is so cool. Love Sonic the Hedgehog!!
Yeah, but thats why you have to practice. I understand that Sega wanted to capture the true speed of Sonic (which they did very well).
@TheZenMovies Maybe because you always defeat them in the end?
@JaysonSR yeah i think they couldve donw more with the wii its still pretty good though definitely now as good as some other sonic games but still good also both 360/ps3 and wii versions of this game have their pros and cons but i can see what you mean
Please explain why the controls were broken because I honestly had no problem with the controls.
it's odd the way that sonic's quills stuck upward for the whole fight unlike in other games where, when he went fast in super form they would fold back into the shape of shadows. That might be why he dosen't lose ring energy:its like a form above super.
@1stkirbyever,how do you do it so perfect?
The Werehog in this game is vastly underrated. It added so much variety to the game, but got so little credit.
@boru25 Dark Gaia's Perfect form. Dark gaia's goal is to destroy the continents, water level and so only that lavas left.
@GamerCherri I know how you feel. lost 4 lives while i had pressed square 57 times and lost the last one while i had pressed it 58 times. but what realy annoys me is that i have to play egg dragoon and normal dark gaia to try again :/
@hottdogger10 out of all the super sonic theme music, this one of my favorites. its just makes you wanna fight
@82superawesome sonic team got a company called "dimps" to work on the ps2/wii version because it used a totally different engine
ok, i just beat this on ps3. it took about 4 and a half hours from the eggmanland level to the end. i almost cried at the last cutscene with chip going away, this is the best game i've played in awhile. can't wait to get another one.

that fucking sound when you had to press the buttons for a attack made me think people were at my godamn house! lmao
@spinyblue yeah, jason griffin has the voice of them both
@TheRamandapus Generations had no cinematics and wasnt that long lol.It had all them extras but so did Unleashed.Love the game though.
Guys for those who have ps2 keep moving right or left and dont stop there will be more rings to colleact and its easier
i love how chip falcon punched the shit out of dark gaia after pressing the x button 60 times
Anyone think the dialogue at 1:50 was kinda awkward? Try listen without looking at the video.
@98blader No shit. The Wii isn't made for intense gaming (both graphics and gameplay) unlike the Xbox which is.
