Thank you:)
Ive collected numerous boxes of those over the years. Been my favorite since i started middle school in the 80s, like driving a Cadillac
I've been buying Ticonderoga pencils for decades. My last batch were black pencils instead of their customary yellow. They look cool.
‘Ticonderoga, that’s if you can spell Ticonderoga!’ was a running gag by the Three Stooges. I always thought it was a joke name.
Since many, many years I solely use mechanical pencils, own the following ones at work, home, workshop:
- rotring 600 (0.35 ; 0.5 ; 0.7 mm, each in black and silver) --> nice and elegant, good tools for serious drawings.
- rotring rapid (0.35 ; old one) --> perfect for travel / school / university / commuting.
- rotring 800 (0.5 ; black) --> so stylish ! Significant play at the front, but also good for travel / school / university / commuting.
- kuru toga high grade (0.5 ; and some others) --> perfect for many small & distinct lines and symbols, always max. sharp !
- delguard zebra (several models) --> good for everything, allrounder.
- delguard zebra Lx -(0.5)-> my work horse ! A little bit heavier, well tared and it it nearly never breaks.
I ended up with a few from class, glad to see they are quality pencils.
Pentel mechanical led on a Uni rotating tip mechanical.. man love those, found them a couple years ago.
The old USA-made pencils were top-notch. The quality has waned somewhat over the decades.
"The Pencil" by Henry Petroski is a great read.
My favorite car is an '87 Dixon Ticonderoga.
I love pencils but my problem is that they are thin and hurt my fingers! I use slightly thicker mechanical pencils now.
I am a mechanical pencil type of guy, myself. Only use high quality, hard, leads.
I've got the ones made in Mexico. I think the Chinese versions are slightly better and darker.
They still come in different hardnesses other than #2/HB.
I bought the same brand for math work. Great math minds think alike, eh?😂
do you find it annoying to have to sharpen pencils regularly?
I find it's a nice break, especially when you're really going at it. Mechanical pencils are great too, especially if you spend a bit of money on them.
This guy looks like Jeff Bezos
That is my favorite pencil brand, ready to go! ✏️
