Young Minds: Religion, faith and Tibetan youth.
Young Minds: Religion, faith and Tibetan youth
Why do we consider the merit accumulated in the month of Saka Dawa multiplied in thousands?
How do one get empowered after attending a long life empowerment ceremony?
How relevant are ‘tsog’ and divination in Tibetan Buddhism?
Why are most Tibetan reincarnate lamas male only?
These are some questions that arise during this week's Young Minds town hall discussion with Dalai Lama's former interpreter and LTWA’s Director Geshe Lhakdor.

Many things are questionable in religion when u think rationally and scientifically... We are all mostly entangled by faith and believe in something of higher power which is blindly followed by society or culture and it is realy hard to change this invisible force.. The truth can only be found through Unbaised questions and experiments which only comes through scientific minds and proper study of things. Buddhism at it's core is a science of finding inner self I believe but some parts, practices and traditions are questionable and unanswered.

If Some part are not harming sentient beings than I think all people have right to do that. We don't have the right to say "you can't do this cause it's old culture custom". Easy....

      @tenzinwangdu6429 2 ปีที่แล้ว

@@ratnanamgyal4068 you are arguing just to argue I see no logic behind ur "easy" reference. Just question yourself as an individual, just think about it and tell me that u believe everything that is told and practiced in Buddhism or any religion. Some parts in religion are quite unbelievable and we are not so sure if we should totally believe it or not. Come on tell me you have such feelings too but u are not confronting or admitting it just cause you are too influenced or u never thought about it this way... May be you just beleive whatever u hear and never took the time to study and question things... May be you are just too naive to actually find the truth.
I am not harming anyone either by questioning the old school of thoughts... I am just trying to question the truth. I am taking a step closer to Buddhahood.... Questioning not just blindly following.

@@tenzinwangdu6429 unless you study Buddhism there is no way you will get your answer. Three are Three kind of thing.
      1- Obvious phenomena
      2- slightly hidden phenomena
      3- extremely hidden phenomena
The obvious phenomena are known by our five senses.
The Slightly hidden phenomena are known by giving reason like emptiness or using tools to see quantum physics which our naked eyes can't see very easily.
The extremely hidden phenomena are not known by senses or by using reason. For example can we get merit by prostating to Three jewels or is there life after death or is there something called consciousness besides body. It is purely relying on the words of a being who had experienced it. For example Just like you know your birthday by relying on your parents words because they Love you. Same as Buddha have love and compassion towards all sentient beings. So thats why some of his teachings can be believe. Again Easy ..... Chill bro 😂😂😂
