- The IT boom took its toll on nature. It seems like the economy and ecology are mutually disjoint. But, Anand Malligavad believes that they go hand-in-hand; and through his work to revive lakes, he is restoring Bangalore back to its former glory. Anand Malligavad is a lake conservationist who rejuvenated 7 lakes in the past 3 years within a limited span of time and resources.
Even though he was proud of the rapid growth happening in Bangalore, he was appalled by the unplanned growth and enormous pressure on the natural resources, leading to the death of so many lakes in and around Bangalore city.
This led him on his journey of rejuvenating lakes, even though the path wasn't very smooth, owing to the administrative hurdles, land mafia, encroachments, funding and most of all - winning over the mindset of people. His efforts have received media coverage from across the world including BBC NEWS. His work has been published in many newspapers and magazines such as - the Hindu, the Times of India, Suvarna News and many more. Now, His mission is to rejuvenate at least 25% of the lakes in Bangalore by 2025 and help the city become a drought-free city and avoid yet another Cape Town. I think it is very easy to turn a productive land into a wasteland and desert. Not so easy to reverse it. You are a very good example to a lot of people, especially the younger generation, who planted and watered those plants and trees. They have a vested interest in seeing that it becomes a success and remains and continues to be successful.

Please save it. There are hundreds of different species of birds come and stay in this lake.Seeing these birds every day from our Flat is really rejuvenate our body and mind.

There are.many lakes has made b d a authorities sites and sold to public like h b r dobhi ghat .and besides ring road and benganahalli old madras road krishnarajapuram lake fisrt two no lakes 3rd one is only 25persent allfoot paths are concrete roads are.concrete no land is left to absorb water of rain its not only the problems kalves .rhey have to dig big ponds in forest area to reserve water.
Why can't we restore the Lake in Attoor Layout?
This Attoor Lake is situated in Yelahanka at Ananda pura road behind of Ramana Sri California Resort. You can not see this lake in the You tube.
Saras Apartment is in the Attoor Lake.
It was a big lake and divided into three parts and made two roads. But in the middle part of the Lake has got water for more than one Kilometre. Hundreds of Birds come every day and eat Fish and enjoy. We can listen their chirping sound.
But this part ( the Lake) had sold and started construction on the other side.
But please restore this Lake . Save this Lake.
If they construct the entire Lake like this their will not be any water.
They are started filling the water with mud in this Lake.
At present water is there but after few months this water will slowly disappear.
We should save banglore and all Lakes in the Banglore.
Other wise in the Bangalore their will not be any drinking water for us.
So please save Attoor Lake.
Nobody will do it for you. You should join hands with him and save one lake at a time.
You have to do it by yourself make video of this circulate it in every media channels as social media...Gather people and stop that....How dumbo u are to ask him or someone to do your work...Do it yourself it's also your responsibility
