This Florida team is just so impressive. The system they play, the grit, and just so many clutch players stepping up in big moments. They just have that aura around them.

@@strawpaladin213 Though what you say isn't false, nor have you disagreed with anything I said, yes some players take time to develop. Some need guidance and some just need time. Some might need both guidance and time (Jason Robertson).
This just shows the lack of patience on Benning's management. Frosling did show promise as a prospect, but Benning never gave him a chance and just traded him away. The Rangers used to be notorious for their lack of patience and trading talented prospects away before allowing them to develop over time. Hence, they've kept hanging onto Laferriene and Kakko and the former has worked out (not so much the latter). Bieksa was a 5th rounder of the Canucks, like Frosling, and he turned out to be a pretty good NHLer whereas Frosling is looking like a gem.
Anyways, Frosling never sucked for the Canucks or the Canucks farm team as he was never even given a chance to play with them. Frosling just had a very impressive World Juniors and Canucks traded him away after that for Adam Clendining, thinking that Frosling wouldn't amount to much. Well, they're wrong. Benning wasn't the patient type.
It's scary as to how balanced and fearless the Panthers are ON THE ROAD. That's what makes them scary. Home ice means nothing when you're playing the Panthers.
If the final ends up being Edmonton-Florida, we will have the northernmost team take on the southernmost and the two teams with the longest travel distance between each other play lol

Edmonton may be further north, but it would've actually been a longer flight between Vancouver and Florida. Montreal to any of the cities where the California teams play would even be a longer flight than Edmonton to Florida.

Lol, Edm has to play defense, if they beat Dal, which is now way better odds, Tanev, they would lose to either of those teams, hot goalies. They pass to the other team. And doubt Rangers get out of this, they look as bad as edm, double the opportunities and it's still a 1g game? Shisterkin, only reason. Car is like Edm, desp needs a goalie.

What is different this year than last year imo is last year they were running hot. This year they’re just consistent. Bob has had one of his best seasons overall, everyone is clicking together pretty well. A few guys are performing really well but very few are playing badly. They’re just humming steady and that’s what is impressive
This is a great way to look at it, I agree. The Cats last year were the chippy new team on the block with something to prove, similar to that '96 run. They had spunk, but once the hot play from their stars cooled off, they had nothing left to finish the job.
This year, though? Controlled, consistent, a machine trying to head back and really finish the job. It's impressive how that calmness is so obvious even with the frenetic, high-octane style they play on the ice. There are certainly stars on this team who are showing up like you said, but the depth we've gotten so far is another beast.
I really wanna see my Cats get their first Stanley Cup. However, we still have to pull five more wins, and it starts tomorrow with game 6. Nothing is entitled to us yet.
Wonder how they’ll fare against the best pk and pp in the league. Their chippy plays will be exposed, and they’ll break down. Still, I only give the oil a slight margin of victory, I’m picking oil in 7 vs the cats.
As a lifelong Panther fan (one of the six!), let me just say how absolutely exuberant I am. All the pieces are fitting. Paul Maurice is an amazing coach. Listen to him talk about his team during press conferences, he is 100% class. We are playing clean, pure hockey end-to-end this series. The Rangers are great at capitalizing on errors, most (if not all) of their goals came this way. And we're leaving no room for critics to whine about refereeing or other conspiratorial BS. We are the better team top to bottom and I don't think we'll be seeing a game 7.

As an Edmonton fan I like that train of thought, but god Florida looks terrifying. The series would feel like a McDavid vs Goliath.

Flames coaches after Bob Hartley didn't know how to use Bennett. He's not a third or 4th line checker. He's a drive to the net crash and bang forechecking nightmare. Paul Maurice uses him properly.

I agree with your analysis and as a Ranger fan I would not be surprised if we just simply loose to them tonight. They are a complete team that seems to be building what they did on last year and got even better.
Rangers aren't playing like they deserve to win. So I wouldn't be surprised if Florida wraps this up next game. But if Rangers show up to play, it's a different story.

It’s not just you man. Gustav Forsling is easily the best D-Man in the league, when he is on the ice that puck is not safe with your team, but he can also score when he has the chance and it’s just unreal to see

I have no love for Florida. I am a Tampa resident and Lightning fan. Hate Florida as much as I hate Boston, Toronto, etc.
But I can't lie. I be rooting for Florida. It would be nice to see a team who's never got a cup get one.
If Florida wins the Cup I think Sasha should win the Conn Smythe, he probably won't but should.
Forsling is the best Dman on the Panthers, and its not close.
It's difficult to compare this year and last year, because I feel like a lot of the magic of last year just came from them carrying that underdog mentality after coming back to stun the Bruins in round 1. This year, however, no one is overlooking the Cats. That usually matters a lot more, playing as the hunted rather than the hunter. Given that, they have passed with flying colors thus far.
I hope for a game 6 win at home as a Cats fan, but I would be more shocked to see that happen than to see the Rangers force a game 7 at the garden. Home ice has really meant nothing for both teams so far, and New York is going to play with their backs against the wall after coming off their most complete game so far in the series. Desperation is always scary to play against.

While I don't really root or care about a lot of the teams that are playing in the playoffs, the Panthers are a sure powerhouse and a true villain of the NHL.

@@N.barakos1845 I think it comes from that punishing style and a few key rat players, most notably Sam Bennett; I love his play, but he's got a streak of dirty plays and that's just a fact, lol.
The public at large also feels like the Panthers have been on the winning side of poor refereeing, but I feel there that it's probably more of a confirmation bias; the reffing overall has been brutal all throughout the playoffs. Also something something, Florida doesn't deserve hockey teams...but that mentality is honestly stupid and doesn't deserve any attention.

If the universe is fair, this ends on Saturday. The Rangers have not been playing well enough to defeat Florida and have only stayed in this due to Shesterkin. The law of large numbers says that Shesterkin cannot keep up this stinginess forever. Panthers will close it out at home and return to the finals for a chance at redemption!

This is mostly my sentiment, but will add that the Rags have all that skill, but not a lot of heart, minus Igor. The Cats are bringing it, & really pour it on in the 3rd. Not a fan of either team, just an observation. Screw that Rags deserve it for being "bridesmaids", the teams that earn tge Cup deserves them.
@@chizoramaI don’t know what you mean by the rangers as a whole don’t have “heart” they’ve been playing their asses off the whole series except for Jack Roslovic and Kaapo Kakko mainly who’ve been liabilities all series. If they manage to pick it up in game 6 or even if Blake Wheeler replaces one of them the rangers will win the series cause the rest of the players have the skill and heart required.
But yes Igor is definitely carrying the rangers.

They've been seriously outshot in the series. Panarin & Zabanejed haven't really stepped up either.
Forsling is the best defenseman in the league. This is not a bias take either. My team was terrible this year so I ended up watching more of Florida, and I can tell you that Forsling has been this good all season.
Bruins fan. Last year was a series boston should have won. This year, boston played well but florida was just better. They won so many puck battles and their Defensive system is a thing of art. I agree with the video, this team is better than last years.
Watching this video made me feel kinda bad for the Sabres. Last year it was Jack Eichel being a major part of the Golden Knights cup run and this year it might be Sam Reinhart. Seems like Buffalo just can't catch a break.

Hello, this is my first video of yours! I am a pretty new fan of the Panthers and Sam Bennett is my fav player of the team (I also have his Hockey card!). I am really hoping they win against the Rangers and keep going and win the Stanley Cup! If it wasn't obvious I would love to see you do more vids of the Panthers, but I also like the Rangers they are a great team too, and I just got into the Oilers.

Complete Cats fans here. They’ve been playing playoff hockey since game one of the regular season. They’re wearing the Rangers down. Forsling is playing top tier defense and Bennet is bullying the Rags. They are scary good right now. Go Cats!
The Rangers have been outplayed this entire series and they were lucky to have won those 2 games. That being said, they have performed all season when their backs were against the wall, and if they come in firing tomorrow and get a win in Florida, who knows what can happen in an ECF game 7.

The Rangers are a very tough team to play against. They play very good defense, and they really use their counter attack very well. As a Panthers fan, the Panthers have played good. But they've had to play good, just to edge out the Rangers. And the Panthers don't consistently play as well at home. This series is still close.

@@justinmiller5660 At this level, at this time of the year, that will happen. Sometimes good defense is not enough. Getting forechecked is not the same as playing defense when the other team has the puck. Turnovers against a forecheck will make it harder on the defense when they are caught out position. Without a turnover, the Rangers play good positional sound defense.

man this just hurts to watch as a rangers fan, ive been waiting for this team since i was a little kid and they just dont seem to have any heart. I didnt see any desperation last night in the third and its depressing. "theyre so composed" Last night i didnt want composure, i wanted to see some life. Someone get mad, someone go make a statement. They looked like a defeated little brother.
When I saw a game late in the season I noted their forecheck looked unbeatable - believe it or not , I picked them as the cup winners this year. Fore check creates opportunities and wears the other team down. But my heart lies with the Oilers.
Panthers are my favorite team to watch in the playoffs (+ last year). I would love to see Maurice lift the cup.
Cannot let you do that Johnny. This vid needs a mention of Carter Verheaghe, ok game 5 was so-so for him, first time it ever happened for him in these playoffs. But If you're rightfully impressed with Barkov Numbers ? Verheaghe has exactly the same points in exactly the same number of games, with 3 more goals. And some of these were majorly important for that team.
I'd also give props to Ekblad as he's been the stabilizing PILLAR that allows Forsling to go and have this much offensive freedom and therefore bloom to this superstar D level he is displaying now.

Too soon to even think about the word “dynasty”, but man oh man, the Panthers are built like a championship team from top to bottom. And Maurice is a brilliant coach (so is Laviolette to be fair). Without Igor though, this would probably have been a sweep for the Cats. What I find amusing is the Rangers insert Trouba and Rempe into the lineup to try to match the team toughness of Florida, but these two guys are pathetically bad skills-wise. The Panthers have more tough guys who can actually play hockey. If Igor stands on his head for 60 minutes, the series may go seven games. I doubt it though. I’m thinking Panthers vs Oilers in the finals and it will go six or seven and be a real barn burner.

All play offs I've seen other teams get high light videos and commentary. Very little for the Panthers.
