+Tony Youll (Tripl3) I traveled from Greece to Download that year with my friends! We stayed for 5 days spending 300 euros each (lol) and despite the fact that we've been through hell, it was the best experience of my life! Hail to all the awesome people that were there. I still have dreams about the crowd!
Been to Download Fest every year for as far back as I can remember and I can honestly say nothing compared to this night. The one and only time I seen fully grown metal heads dance and jump in that way. Was an absolute honor being in that crowd. I've been to hundreds of gigs and I can still say that was the single best atmosphere I have ever experienced. Pendulum are freaking awesome.
@@TyrannosavageRekt 100%, I do vaguely recall them keep fuckin up the intro to one of the songs, maybe Witchcraft? The crowd was just next level though, it was my first music festival and this honestly blew my mind
@@aironnocturnal5365 It was my first music festival too, and this was the Friday night so I was drunk off my ass from drinking all day Wednesday & Thursday, just topping up each time. I was too poor to buy much alcohol in the arena though so was just riding a buzz all day being vaguely inebriated.
Look at him smiling like that after the tramsition and crowd screaming. I have replayed it over 20 times now and that smile of pure joy and accompishment still makes me happy.
I remember that every DnB gig I went to, small or large, there would always be Voodoo people Pendulum remix played at least twice a night. It is very popular song here in Czechia.
If Voodoo people is the single most greatest drop for crowd reaction. I dont know what is! Hats off to the old Pendulum! They're just not quite the same anymore :(
I was there in the middle of a circle pit!! Still the best gig i have ever been to!! Non-Stop!! No camera phones out recording back then!! Shame where we are at with gigs now
Watch this video at least once a month to remind me of how amazing this was. Every live show I go to now always end in "yeah, but it still wasn't as good as Pendulum at Download" absolute best experience of my life!
id argue and say this performance was a part of drum and bass history. Fuck id say that pendulum could fit into the rock and roll hall of fame. ya know since they're letting rappers into it.
I remember being fucking jammed in here with my best mate. It was one of the most surreal experiences of my life so far! Truly amazing! Second stage was WAY over capacity, I think Def Lepard were playing main... now those guys are fucking awesome, but more people ended up at Pendulum, they should have swapped the stages for safety. I saw god knows how many people getting lifted over the barriers or passing out there. Either way, it was just fucking amazing!
kingluk3999 The fact that they're playing Ibiza tells me all I think I need to know, and that is that I don't want to be involved with them anymore. Anyone who plays a clubland paradise deserves NO place in alternative music... You've ruined Pendulum for me... Thanks!
I remember this! It was dead over at Def Leppard, never seen second stage so full in my life! Still the best gig I've ever been to to date, what a night!!
Just watched them do their set at Ultra, it was great: besides the totally uninterested crowd who lose attention if the same bass junkie David Guetta shit isn't played to e constantly. Real shame to see
+James Robinson what bugged me the most yesterday was the drummer who played so fkin slow like it was a normal rock concert. i missed the fast and more dnb like drumming of this one...
+Jordi B Same drummer at both shows. KJ Sawka has been their drummer for a while. Dude was probably just exhausted at Ultra, having just played a full set with Destroid only like an hour before.
I can safely say that Pendulum are the greatest live act of this generation. utterly sublime. That drop into voodoo people is just insane, especially if you see it live. Bestival 2011!
this day was my birthday, and i wanna thank my parents for giving me this awesome gift. It was my first Download and it was crazy since the first 'til the last \m/
Despite the rain, and being drunk off my ass, this crowd was still one of the best experiences I've ever had at a festival or concert. And just to give an idea of how impressive Pendulum's reach was here, at the peak of their power, Def Leppard were playing the Main Stage at the time.
I think one of my favourite things about these early Pendulum shows is Rob having to have the Keyboard angled back so his view is similar to playing his Keytar & Ztar so he's more familiar with the look of the layout & his hand positions, such a lovely little detail to chuckle at
Not only was this an amazing fucking event, I like coming back to these videos now that pendulum is officially back and I can't say I have ever seen an amazing crowd react to this awesome band, 2020!
i dont think ive ever losdt so much weight at a gig before or since this one, they got the whole crowd going, the whole of download was at this gig and it was definatly one of the best of the week end! now to see if download can top itself this year!
Since I found Pendulum I can't find DnB like theirs. I can't find so motivating songs like theirs. I can't find a group or channel or w/e it is like them. If some1 knows something like that please give it to me. Where are you Pendulum :( There are so much ppl like me needing you. Fuck this Knife party bullshit it's stupid. It can't compare to this masterpiece...
This is the same year they played Glastonbury to that absolutely dead crowd. Pendulum were still alive and well in 2011, as long as their audience actually appreciates them.
The pit that opened up near me every couple of minutes someone was getting pulled out due to them getting knocked out, was absoutly insane. Defiantly best live performance I saw.
You'll understand his purpose if you go to their live shows. In a video you just want to listen to the track but after you seen him live you'll not care. He adds to it tbh
he is not a douche, I've never seen pendulum live and I dont think he's a douche, he does a fantastic job with the crowd, i've seen some clips from their performances without him, its just not the same..
I love Rob's little test note at 3:33
i can never not laugh when i hear that part
Remember hearing it live and having legit chills thinking I imagined it, the drop was so satisfying
Lol yeah the tiny little * pwoawp *
Never let this comment die!
That roar when they mix in voodoo people perfectly, fucking hell
And that face of complete satisfaction in Ben Mount
Angel Matarin Fucking beautiful transition
I Know Right? Fucking Insane! 🤘🤘🤘
Been over 4 years and I could still listen to that Voodoo People transition every second till I die. Honoured to say I was in this crowd.

+Tony Youll (Tripl3) hands down one of the best switches iv ever seen live
+Ash A Nothing like it mate. Absolute goosebumps
I was in that moshpit, and I only escaped with a black eye and a broken nose. That was a fun night.
Nine years, still holds up!
i come back to this video every few months
+1
they had big shoes to fill , but they did it like no others did at the time.

Portuguese here, i was there with my late brother. I already loved this guys, my brother not that much. After this gig we were 2 loving them
It's not necessarily one of the best live performances I've ever seen, but certainly one of the best atmospheres and crowds!
@@TyrannosavageRekt 100%, I do vaguely recall them keep fuckin up the intro to one of the songs, maybe Witchcraft? The crowd was just next level though, it was my first music festival and this honestly blew my mind

Same, they did the same thing at V festival in 2009 - master of puppets into Slam. A badass techno band will always slay with metal heads.
Look at him smiling like that after the tramsition and crowd screaming. I have replayed it over 20 times now and that smile of pure joy and accompishment still makes me happy.
It’s been like 11 years and the drop into voodoo is still one of the best moments of my life. I will never forget it. Pendulum forever!
That mix into voodoo always gets me, always
That switch at 3:39 was fucking mental.
indeed, i miss fucking pendulum, they are the only band that can make me "snap" earing them !
and the pose of the singer at 3:41 is the top!
bens a legend
What a drummer lol.
KJ Sawka!
So fucked up lol
I remember that every DnB gig I went to, small or large, there would always be Voodoo people Pendulum remix played at least twice a night. It is very popular song here in Czechia.
People jumping in place when Blood Sugar played on, but People scatter around when Voodoo People drop kick in.
It shows how awesome that drop was.
Also cause everyone knows voodoo people
If Voodoo people is the single most greatest drop for crowd reaction. I dont know what is! Hats off to the old Pendulum! They're just not quite the same anymore :(
^^
love the face at 3:42 this is how every live show should be
amazing crowd
massive metal fan this is hands down one of the best things ive ever seen at download or anywhere else
F**K it I lied , Its Drum and Bass What You Gonna Do ;)
What about Full Flavor?
I was there in the middle of a circle pit!! Still the best gig i have ever been to!! Non-Stop!! No camera phones out recording back then!! Shame where we are at with gigs now
Have always wanted to see them. That transition is the most epic transition of all time.

That transition into voodoo people gave me shivers so much it almost sent me to tears holy shit.

I was there also and agree with you but it was fucking awesome
Shame we won't be seeing it again... Yet to have that experience matched and I don't know what possibly could match it
I know I loved every second of it

this was the most amazin experience ever. so lucky to have been there

+Ted Spealman This man speaks the truth. KJ seemed so happy though, I'm so glad he enjoyed himself playing with Pendulum after so many years :)
+Jordi B I haven't known pendulum long enough to know what happen to the other drummer, so what happen to him?

Tell me that drop don’t send chills down ya spine
Ok, I won't
this day was my birthday, and i wanna thank my parents for giving me this awesome gift.

Drum & Bass and Metal fan here, Absolutely buzzing for Pendulum at Download 2023! 🙌
Yes !
Despite the rain, and being drunk off my ass, this crowd was still one of the best experiences I've ever had at a festival or concert. And just to give an idea of how impressive Pendulum's reach was here, at the peak of their power, Def Leppard were playing the Main Stage at the time.
I remember being here and the atmosphere was incredible and I'd happily relive this all over especially with korn on before them
Still to this day one of the best music videos on youtube......
I think one of my favourite things about these early Pendulum shows is Rob having to have the Keyboard angled back so his view is similar to playing his Keytar & Ztar so he's more familiar with the look of the layout & his hand positions, such a lovely little detail to chuckle at
lol thats true! plus it looks so badass haha
Not only was this an amazing fucking event, I like coming back to these videos now that pendulum is officially back and I can't say I have ever seen an amazing crowd react to this awesome band, 2020!
3:35 is where the magic starts to happen
I was there, how has it taken me nearly 9 years to realise this footage existed..
i dont think ive ever losdt so much weight at a gig before or since this one, they got the whole crowd going, the whole of download was at this gig and it was definatly one of the best of the week end! now to see if download can top itself this year!

go and listen The Prodigy ^^ thats a mix betweeb Dnb techno rock not the same as Pendulum but they are fucking Amazing
The Prodigy Omen, Invaders must die, Nasty, take me to the hospital usw ...^^^
the Qemist are awesome too
+innerFire innerFire check out Terravita too
Matrix & Futurebound's album Universal Truth has some amazing songs on there that remind me of Pendulum in places
This is the same year they played Glastonbury to that absolutely dead crowd. Pendulum were still alive and well in 2011, as long as their audience actually appreciates them.
Saw them on Rockwerchter years ago it was so amazing. The energy was insane. Didn't even need drugs
Forever my favorite video of any concert ever
I don't care if this video has less pixels then 2021. This is perfection!
This is the night when every metalhead took MD And just went mental :D
WHAT A NIGHT!
Goosebumps bruhhh amazing
man i would give anything to just experience that voodoo people switch on that amazing crowd
love how they ended the song, that must be one of the first proper break down they've done in ages!
I agree that godlike is an understatement.
blood sugar will always hold the title for the hardest song of all time
PLEASE bring Pendulum back to Download
2023 it's happening 😃
I've seen them live twice. As I said.. "The MC is great when you're there"
The pit that opened up near me every couple of minutes someone was getting pulled out due to them getting knocked out, was absoutly insane.
Defiantly best live performance I saw.
Ah god, please tour again. I want more content like this to watch. :)
This summer in london :D
They have reunited if you haven't heard yet! :)
Yeah, i've heard homie ;) I wrote that comment when it was announced that Pendulum will be back in 2017, but wasn't sure if it was a tour or not.
This mashup should be called "Bloody Voodoo" or something xd
Sugar People?
Voodoo Sugar
00:59 crab dance
God! XD
I would legitimately sacrifice all I have to give to be in this crowd. Man…
podría escuchar esto todo el día
I broke my arm watching this.
)))
I dislocated my shoulder at this
I've been going download for 10 years now and this is in my top 5 sets ever.
Downloads having a fucking party right there @ 3:44 holy shit that prodigy drop!!
The only time I see total metalheads go crazy with another kind of music is when Pendulum comes.
We are glad you are back guys!
cant help but keep replaying this video
The transition to Voodoo People is BEYOND FUCKING GODLIKE !
That was bloody amazing!
That was my first download ever, it was amazing!
I could cry watching this just knowing I'll never get to experience it. Knife party is okay but nothing tops pendulum.
You'll understand his purpose if you go to their live shows. In a video you just want to listen to the track but after you seen him live you'll not care. He adds to it tbh
So excited for pendulum at solfest woo
I was there god I remember having so much fun for their set
the crowd went mental during this set, it was great!
'Don't get lazy, time to switch the gravy'
my first download and it was epic!
@GODLYELLiiOT People as far as the eye could see. Such an insane set!
Miss it so much!
When I'm sad, I watch this and remind myself that I was in that crowd and then I'm not sad anymore.
I wish they could get back together and do a world tour :/
Great News for you
I miss them so much already.
I was there
Good to be in 2017 knowing that this band is back
2021 has almost gone but that switch still makes me c*m
They are back
Keyboard part in blood shoogah is dope. Fucking sick!!!
voodoo people by THE PRODIGY! FANTASTIC!
That was an epic set. Stayed for the whole damn thing :)
That switch to Voodoo People is soooooo sick
Think everyone can agree that this is one of the best crowds ever!
Ended up with 3 new hats during Pendulum was epic!!!
i think this is my favorite performance of blood sugar live
The most insane experience of my life!!!
That transition into voodoo people is so sick ..
Best band of the 21st century. Such a shame that Rob said they'll never perform again
They're making a new album, rob swire said it himself that it will come out this year after the knife party album releas.

For the first time I see a round dance at the Drum 'n' Bass festival.
omg, i was there. the crowd were nutts. friday was a great day.(y)
To this day i cant think of anything worse than Download's sweaty CEX Staff-Ridden crowd.....But that roar on the switch ill NEVER stop watching.
