An Equestrian's Entire Routine, from Waking Up to Saddling Up | Allure
Thank you for picking a rider that does everything herself! She reflects the largest part of the equestrian community that works our butts off to be able to do thing we love the most, with the animals we love the most.
Yes! There are SO many upper level riders who don’t even know how to braid a mane or tail
@@sdnyhamilton Pretty sure some of them haven't mucked a stall in years!!
@@Sierra-Sorts I am so glad, I'm sure all of your animals love you a lot and appreciate all of the care you five them!
Yes 🙌
Yes
Yes, she's doing it all but I also see a woman who has incorporated all of her passions and interests (and necessities) into the perfect lifestyle for her. GOALS.
i love this too!
Yes this. She is proof of living goals ❤
@H M you mean using an animal for what its been bred and trained for and loves to do? Yeah totally miserable
@H no you dont lmao. you have to train it. desensitize it. you’re just telling me you’ve never been around a horse or an equestrian once in ur life
@H “Tell me you know nothing about horses without telling me you know nothing about horses” lol 🤡
As a Black equestrian, it is very satisfying to see others that look like me in the community!
Being Asian, we need more representation of riders who are people of colour! ❤️
Totally agree! Especially as horse riding is known as a "rich white girl" "hobby".
And such a role model she is! Has her own farm, works full time, and manages to train at high level competition. Wow.
There are alot of black equestrians though. Not as much as white ones, in fact, not even close, but there still are. And if I remember correctly, there is a very famous black equestrian but I can't remember her name.
@@bubbleteabeatboxx Look up Anna Buffini and Shayna Simon. Shayne is Bea’s coach at the Paralympics going on right now and is an amazing dressage rider. Anna is doing World Cup Dressage in the Netherlands as I am typing this. Super riders!!
Allure finds the most interesting, intelligent, impressive women for this series. I look forward to each new episode!
As a showjumper, I’m super excited to see equestrians getting some recognition in mainstream media! Love how she touched on the pre round anxiety and how she manages it, not a lot of people like to mention that but we all feel that way to a degree. It can be intimidating looking into the ring at a big, technical course at the in gate right before you go in! That’s where all of that training and trust in both you and your horse’s ability comes into play.
Same!
Agreed! ❤️
Being Asian, we need more representation of riders who are people of colour, so thank you for sharing a day in a life with us! ❤️
You people are so race obsessed 💀🤦♀️😂
I love that she says that the first priority is her horse after their ride, and the way she takes the time to do all of this care herself. All of those small things can go so far in building up a strong relationship and connection with the horse
She’s a boss, that’s pretty clear. Love a girl who can do it ALL 🙌🏼🙌🏼
So glad to see her wearing sunscreen! Even for POC it’s super important to protect against skin cancer!
Yes!
Omg, seriously! I love Black Girl Sunscreen an Unsun--it does not make my rich skin ashy or breakout
She got me when she said she also runs a farm😭 I love that.
She literally does it all, how cool is that
As a biracial equestrian, it’s so refreshing to see women of color riding. I am the only poc around where I live that rides.
Keep riding! Stay well, safe and loving the riding.
Same
I was looking for this comment! I’m Indian and have never seen an Indian represented in the horse riding community, everyone at my stables is white and I’ve felt out of place. Glad to know I’m not alone ❤️
@@AP-yt I'm African American and have been the lonely person of color for 60 years but am helping my physical therapist, who is Indian, find beginner riding lessons for her 8 year old son.
She's literal Black Girl Magic, absolute Disney Princess material! 👸 Someone needs to write a children book based of off her!
When I was young I begged my parents to ride horses and of course I was the only black girl there (elementary school age) but for the month I did it I loved it so much unfortunately my parents decided they did not want to pay for it anymore…but this video just made that little girl in me soo happy I hope one day even tho I am 24 now I hope I get the courage to go horse back riding again
It's a hobby a lot of people either go back to or start for the first time in adulthood. I'd say its actually one of the easiest and most welcoming sports to start as an adult. So really, don't feel too nervous about wanting to start, give it a go!
I really love seeing the diversity at our local barn. All ages, races, and backgrounds. It's definitely still hard to be a POC in the equestrian world, but it's getting better.
You should! I’m 21 and started riding again :)
I rode for a little bit as a child too. My mom pulled me out after she fell off her horse. I always knew I would want to ride again. Now, in my 30s I am back to riding. You can do it again too!
Go for it girl! I grew up around horses and miss my mare dearly. It's a very welcoming sport for adults, just find a good trainer 😊
Thank you for featuring a Black woman rider. My 16 yr daughter has been obsessed with everything equestrian.
When she opened with “Had my teeth knocked out several times” got my attention & respect! Horses are a sport of their own!
This is one of the first videos like this that I’ve genuinely appreciated. She is a woman of all trades and a boss lady! I love it

So she braids her horses mane (for an hour) and sets it for the night. He also has a skin and “hair” care routine. Her horse is a whole black girl 😅
He definitely is! Lol 😂
Wait til you find out there’s professional braiders for us less skilled equestrians 😭🤣
horses are like ten whole women!
Yes, and braiding is wxpeeensive. As a hunter, My shows are like 4-5 days, braiding the tail is like 50+, and has to be redone every day, and the mane I think is like 100-120, if I remember correctly, but that only has to be done once
haha all horses get this treatment! we don't braid everyday but whenever its needed!
Loved her and her calm manner. Very relatable video with working hard but also balancing her passion. Definitely not an easy task. And also loved her honesty about being her own groomsman and being able to connect more with her horse. Her and her horse are beautiful!
I’m dying to see the biochem side. A day in the lab please
What EXCELLENT REPRESENTATION OF THE EQUESTRIAN NATION! WOW! QUEENS & KINGS & EVRYTHING IN BETWEEN! 👏🏻👏🏿👏🏻👏🏾👏🏻👏🏿👏🏻👏🏾👏🏻👏🏿👏🏻👏🏾👏🏻👏🏿👏🏻👏🏾👏🏻👏🏿👏🏻👏🏾👏🏿👏🏻👏🏾👏🏻👏🏿👏🏻👏🏾👏🏻👏🏿👏🏻🥰🐴🐎🐴🐎🐴🐎🐴🐎🐴🐎🐴🐎🐴🐎🐴🐎🐴🐴🐴🐎🐴🐴🐴🐎
What a fabulous, beautiful woman! She’s hard working, diligent and very intelligent. Well done on all your successes and good luck for the future
I can't wait to show this to my kids! Representation matters!
I am a black equestrian and this just made me smile 💙
Same here. I do not own a horse, certainly couldn't own one, expensive but I love them , ride and have equine craft I'd like to sell.
I only wish to see more of our generation into horses anything that's not part of this " norm" thing.
Also I've become less ignorant about the equestrian world. There is a LOT OF ABUSE in these disciplines and by far learning true horsemenship is everything about the horse, learning their body language and such.
I'm a follower of Rick Gore and learned a lot of problems there are in equine disciplines and training.
I realize how superficial people are with horses and have witness animal abuse which is my highest pet peeve.
I'm certainly more for the animals wear fare because they are subjected, having no choice so you do what's best for them First then being the selfish. Self indulge creatures that we are.
Being Asian, we need more representation of riders who are people of colour! ❤️
My daughter is 6 and started riding last year. She absolutely loves it but she is definitely one of the only black girls at her facility. I love this representation!
I got very lucky at my stables they’re very inclusive and I am not the only African American here and I just love riding .
Biore needs to feature her in an ad. Her skin is amazing!
So impressed by this lady! It's incredibly hard to balance demanding and expensive passions such as dressage with real life, so it's really motivating and encouraging to see another woman do so.
Horse “do-rag”😂 Go Scnobia, you’re a fabulous role model. Keep on keepin’ on!🐎🥕🥕🍎
Thank you for openly talking about the lume product. As someone who has felt shame with certain downstairs odors at the gym I’m so happy to see there is a solution. Going to be buying for sure
I love Lume! It definitely keeps every thing nice and fresh
SO much admiration and respect for this woman. Strong and independent and taking care of a farm, horse and herself. Talk about a hustle!
Kudos to Allure for not just focusing on famous people.
It’s so lovely to see a talented equestrian being featured towards main stream media! Especially a woman of colour as it is such a white dominated sport. Really enjoyed this video🙌🏼
She is so beautiful and I love how honest she is! Very insightful.
i love her accent/voice, it's so soothing, reminds me of my aunt 🤎🤎
Scnobia is my whole "Inner Spirit" right now.I wish I could hangout with her for a week....Thanks for sharing
Her discipline, gumption and love for her horse is beyond immaculate and precious! My hats off to this amazing young lady! 🙌🖤✨💯👏
I've never heard of her but she seems like an amazing representative of the dressage community! I like the way she rides
Being Asian, we need more representation of riders who are people of colour! ❤️
Love this so much! I love the part when she mentioned about the naysayers "ooh you're still riding horses?" that gets me. It may looked like equestrian is just a phase, but to be honest it's innate and built within you forever.
It was so nice to see Dressage featured instead of hunter/jumper or cross country. She is an excellent spokesperson for her discipline and a beautiful rider. I love how you described your relationship with your horse and put his mental and physical needs front and center. Awesome video!
Being a teen equestrian, I do follow many other equestrians who are amazing and I do feel like she is an idol for me. I'm very happy that our community is going into the media now. She was very inspiring to watch and I do see her as a role model for me. She does everything herself and that is very interesting because I have never seen an equestrian like that.
can we talk about how easily her horse got into the trailer like he just practically walked in on his own
This woman is so disciplined and amazing, wow!
This woman and her horse just called me lazy! Goodness, she is doing a lot but she seems to love it! Go ahead, Queen!
She is so impressive! I love how she cares for her horse❤️
My girls a Dressage rider! 😍 THANK YOU for showing the dedication so many of us Equestrians have to our animals and our sport. Most girls do everything themselves, and we LOVE IT. Also injuries and scars come part and parcel we never complain.

YESSS IVE BEEN WAITING FOR YOU TO MAKE THIS
Me too
God this is so amazing! Seeing another person of color riding, keeping up a full time job that isn't working in the stables, doing everything herself 🤩 brown is powerful ✊🏽
As a former rider myself this clip is so relatable!! Also it made me remember all the times to the farm to put sunscreen on my horse's nose on days! I used to find that way more important than putting sunscreen on myself when I was a teenager
I love this series!!! Seeing all these diverse women with so many amazing and diverse passions. Soooooo inspirational!!!
This lady is so inspiring. I strive to balance my life as well as she does.
How fabulous to see a horse woman managing it all...it's a battle and makes my heart warm to see her smiling.
Wow! I’m blown away. She’s amazing. You have to take care of yourself in order to take care of your horse. 😘
such a wonderful equestrian to highlight. I was a VERY active equestrian when I was younger but havent figured out how to manage that with a full-time job. Shes a lovely example and does everything herself. love it!
She is absolutely beautiful!! I love her personality and her love and care for her horse.
You are an inspiration! I can’t wait to show this to my 13 year old daughter who is an aspiring equestrian.
So in love with her 😍 Thanks Allure for those wonderful introduction of these amazing women
omg, she is on top of the game! she does all of this and most importantly enjoy them all
I love that the Sleazy is a Durag for her horse after braids.... A horse with black culture 😍❤️
Thank you for choosing an equestrian! I haven't seen many big videos about them on a mainstream channel 💕
So so happy to see a black equestrian representing our sport
Thank you for recognizing a few different communities in this! Espeically an equestrian who does everything on her own on that level it is indeed rare.
She is on a basic beginner adult amateur level. It's not like she is showing actual rated USDF competitions or riding at at 4th or PSG level.
Knowing that the horse also get sunscreen & TLC makes me happy. And the fatback trick for styes WORKS!
Lovely seeing how she treats her partner. I think this is the first time that I’ve seen a human respect and care for the needs of a horse to this degree when it should be the norm ☺️…like yes, they’re living beings too 👏🏼
Really enjoyed this entire video!! She's awesome, and such a hard worker. Keep up the awesome job. Best of luck on all of your competitions. 🙂. Thanks for posting. Sharing this video out also. 😀.
It’s so incredibly refreshing to see more poc equestrians !
LMAAAO! @ her calling it a durag. 😂 i'm wearing one right now in fact + that made my night. 🥰 🖤✊🏾
This lady is so inspiring!
I really enjoyed this video. Thankyou. I’ve owned horses on and off the last 30+ years and I fully appreciate the time and effort that goes into it. You definitely are a superwoman. Holding it all down. What a beautiful bond you have with your horse. He’s lovely
This is awesome! I squealed when I realized you were showing at the Raleigh complex. That’s my favorite place to show at!!!
Thank you! I thought it was my imagination at first, was like hey... that looks like the main Coliseum at Hunt...
i can’t believe horse wear durags. this was incredible.
When I showed when I was a kid, in the 90’s, the “sleazy sleepwear” (I’m not kidding, that was the brand name) was THE thing. But I always felt weird saying it 😂 I love that she called it a durag.
her skin is so bright and fresh!😍
Finally! I’ve been waiting for this! I’ve been riding for about 9 years and it is my life! Thanks for doing this and including the equestrian community! ❤️☺️🐴
I love this I am an owner of a horse business and it's a huge joy to see this getting the recognition it deserves. 🐎🌠🐎💗💗
this woman is GOALS
Amazing genuine humble soul!!
I think I am the only person at my barn that wears sunscreen consistently- I have my floppy hat, too, and I really want to try Lumé, I have heard good things!
Ah, the Desitin...
I usually end up wearing more of it than Manni does, haha!
I do love a pink muzzle, though!
I love how you train, so good to let them hack first and do a variety of things, rather than just endless circles!
You are definitely a horseperson to aspire to, I love equestrians who do things themselves, especially the horse-care- it really is part of the bond, and honestly you should do it because you love it, the grooming and care to me is just as fulfilling as the ride!
You are awesome!
I can totally agree: it’s NOT a fase, people! It’s a love that can last a lifetime… ❤️
Move over wonder woman we have a new super hero!!! She is amazing with everything she does everyday! She is an inspiration for the farming and horse training I want to achieve in my 30s starting life over after realizing what my dream really is.
He got on the trailer so well! Most of the horses that I've have to trailer up think it's the end of the world or something....horses are so funny🤣
i’m literally so excited you guys did equestrian!!
I always thought it was a rich person sport. I was highly educated. Good for you. Love this video.
yes and no. at higher levels especially in the hunters and jumpers, money becomes an essential factor
theres many ascepts that go into it that can make it cheaper or more expensive, the expensive coptions are the popular more mainstream ones!
no, there is a way for everyone to enjoy. I sacrifice a lot for my horse.
No! I’m disabled without a lot of money and I ride horses. If I were to go to higher levels, yes, money becomes a factor, but you can totally ride for fun!
She is so inspiring!
What a GREAT pick. Perfect woman for this.
She’s great! I also love her skin!
I’m an equestrian and I love this video
What an amazing young woman! It's hard to believe she does all the things she does by herself, ah youth.
A true lady of the south.
I loved this. I learned so much about a life I've never known! This lady is a gem!!! Her lifestyle inspires me. ❤️
woah. she seems very young to be this accomplished!!! a GOOD job, a farm!, and awards as an equestrian…… she grows her own food AND cooks it. does she take a day off?? She also seems to know how to change a tire……
IVE BEEN WAITING FOR THIS VIDEO FOR YEARS
So proud of you Scnobia 💝🙏🏾
hard working young lady, bless her
Thank you for showing an inspiring woman.
Yes love to see more black equestrians!!
So interesting! She is amazing! I loved learning about her life!
Wooow she is amazing! Hard real worker women , thats girl power! 💪🏻
This girls unbelievable! What a lifestyle she’s impressive
this woman is so impressive. wow.
She is a very passionate and hardworking woman! 🙌🏻🐎 loved this video!
Her horse is lovely ❤❤❤❤ makes me miss riding! Great video
Ima black equestrian and this just made my day🥰
