Pac-Land (also by Namco) predates Dragon Buster by a few months and features the ability to jump repeatedly in midair after reaching the fairy who gives you magic boots at the end of each stage for your return trip. Dunno if there’s an earlier example than that tho
This was a surpringly well made video. If I have to nitpick. Air dashing was first introduced in Mega Man X2. The footage seemed to be from a rom-hack or something. But aside from that, great stuff!
