I'm basically showing people. What a mechanic uses so you don't have to guess with what part is wrong. This is a very complex computer program that Bernie invented. It is phenomenal for finding out what's wrong with cars for professional mechanics. I'm basically showing this so people can see what a good mechanic is versus someone who just guesses at parts and says I don't know which sensor is bad so I'll change them all.. this is more of an informational video. I don't expect. Do it yourselfers to buy this machine
Thanks for responding Scotty! All of my tools would cost in the me tens of thousands to replace, and some are custom made or are out of production. Good recommendation for honest professionals or serious hobbyists.
I appreciate what you're saying however it would be a lot cheaper for the average shade tree mechanic to just replace both of the sensors rather than buy the escan for $1800.
I can imagine. I tried a DIY muffler replacement on my Rivian last weekend... I did it MYSELF! I wish now, that I'd paid a pro the estimated $2k to do it, because I tweaked my back in the process, and am now being asked by a chiropractor, more than $3k to fix my aching back. Maybe there's a TH-cam video on how to fix my back.
Seems pretty amazing. My only question is what do you do with all the info it gives you? Because after buying that thing you’re not gonna be able to afford any of the parts it’s telling you to get lol.
Not a bad tool for $1800.00, only I don't see DIYer's buying this! For that price, I can pay a professional I trust to diagnose which sensor and replace the correct one for a fraction of the cost. I guess if you have deep pockets or want to get into car repairs this would be a great additional diagnostic tool.
It is not only sensors that it isolates. Mechanics will not be put out of business, because many of these parts mus be replaced, with the car on a hoist. At very least in a garage space or work.
Dude if i were as good as u r an knew how 2 diagnose newer cars as u do, u gotta b a multimillionaire, u hav helped me alot,YOU gotta find a mechanic smarter than the car is
I am curious how many people became proffesional mechanics after watching Scotty's videos, must be many, thats why he shows also expensive stuff like this :)
TOO Expensive!! close to $2000!! Come on Scotty this is not good for a home mechanic .. I'm a cheapskate cheapskate like u... would you pay $2000 for this if u weren't in the profession?
Buy a thinkcar 689BT scan tool. Best scanner for the price. The only thing it doesn't have is AIDAS (which is parking sensors, emergency braking, etc). It uses Launch software. But you have to import it, it comes from China. But for me it was like 460 euros with import fees. Very good price and again: you get lifetime updates instead of paying yearly subscription for software updates on other tools.
I'm 51yrs old. $40,000 weekly and *I'm retired, this video have inspired me greatly in many ways that I remember my past of how I struggled with many things in life to be where I am today!!!!* ❤️

You say you never seen a computer go bad on a Toyota. Yet most gen 2 RAV4s needed a computer rebuild due to a bad solder point causing transmission issues.
I got the Innova bidirectional scanner from Scotty’s advice for about $350 brand new from eBay. It may not talk but it records many details. Almost a necessity because of all the emission issues on my three vehicles. So you can know, fix and diy the problems as you can or want.
I don't know if it's in this particular case, but the older vehicles don't give as much information and this might be his go to. I recently heard that obd1 can go up until 06. Still a good diagnosis and repair
Correct me if I’m wrong but doesn’t pretty much any scan that does live data pretty much give you the same information? I mean I’ve seen you test scan tools that read whether or not a fuel injector is an open loop or closed loop or what the temperature of the little heaters on the oxygen sensor reading and can read other issues that I might have like fuel, pressure, injector, pulse, etc. And the scan tools are you know only a couple hundred bucks at the most. I’m just curious to know what the advantage of that particular tool is compared to any other scan tool on the market
$1,795 for the eScan Elite is not practical for the typical DIYer. I was stoked about buying it until I saw the price. Bummer, because it seems like a Great diagnostic tool. Wish you were still in Houston. I would drive a couple hundred miles to have you diagnose my current problem. The cost would make sense for someone who makes a living diagnosing auto problems. Great informational video. Thank you.
sir thank you for your wealth of "honest"automotive knowledge and solutions😉. Helping car owners all over the world drive with a little more confidence in a world with shaky ground .
One of my clients said they bought a lot of dongers yesterday. I had never heard this before yesterday---and now today you mention it on your show. We are in the twilight zone. Your knowledge is irreplaceable.
Too expensive huh? My Subaru so far has cost me $1300 for a wiring problem the dealer could not diagnose and so they replaced the full wire harness. Then I paid $900 for labor and parts for an amplifier that was unique only to Subaru. Amplifier pulled 5 watts constantly and drained battery. Before being replaced it ate up 3 batteries at $150 each. Having a tool like this may have saved me $1000 or more. Have you priced parts and labor at your local shops lately? Yes this tool is expensive but it may end up paying for itself in the long run. Also this is one of the first tools with this ability. It will get cheaper in the future. Thanks Scotty! I took the review as information not a suggestion that everyone should buy one. Pretty neat stuff and it will get cheaper in the future. - John H
I've got an OBD 2 signal saying that its the catalytic converter, but I only get it when I'm going slowly uphill after driving the whole day, because I'm a DoorDash driver. After the engine light turns on, the car switches to lower expectations power. That's why I like Honda. They have a hierarchical system, not a relational system. The computer has even saved me from a dime alternator. Now, being that this is a 2015 Honda Accord, and I don't know whether it is fitted with the old or the new reinforced transmission, I think that it could be the catalytic convertor or the transmission. I have a new catalytic convertor. Waiting for warmer days here in New England. Now, do I use muffler cement or what other kind of cement between seals?
I have a 2015 buick lacrosse the car keeps shutting down as the screen in the car gpes dark put a new battery in it and worked fine for a fue weeks then it started dooing it again took it to chevy they did some work said it was fixed then left me setting again 1000 bucks later i think its the alrernator or the voltage regulator tryed to adress it with the garage and they insist its a ground i cant keep throwing 1000 bucks at it while they play guessing games with my paycheck any ideas on why the voltage dropes just below operating voltage?
Neighborhood: "Activate the civil defense system siren! all children & pets inside, calmly enter storm bunkers, Scotty is out test driving! Listen for the all clear siren"🚨
@Scotty - At $1,795.00 the eScan is out of reach of most everybody but professional mechanics. Too bad, it would be well worth it for DIYers if it were in the $500 range. Maybe they could produce a version locked to a single VIN for a couple hundred bucks . . .
This will speed up diagnostic. And more accurately diagnose the problem and more accurately find difficult to diagnose problems. Saving the shop lots of time and money. And having more happy repeat customers.
Scotty, update your tool list for this product. Q, you plugged into a laptop, they offer a "tablet" for those who do not have a LT PC. Will live data be the same between the two?. By the way, have used ATS Oil and Fuel treatment many times and WOW. One needs to ask questions before spending money. Best DVD:)
The problem with scan tools is the car you attatch them to. Its only going to show what the computer and sensors read. If it hasnt got the sensors, or the manufacturer uses odd readings, you can't always see whats wrong by examining live data. Ive got a ford with a common rail diesel, and i suspect something wrong with an injector, but it hasnt got injector timings, or compensation factors. All ive got is rail pressure so im S.O.L
It seems to me that a cheap Bluetooth scan tool looking at O2 sensor signals would show that #1 Bank 1 sensor isn't switching or is slow to switch. Why do you need a whole computer for this?
It is a great tool, just not what most nonprofessional's are willing to pay for. $1795.00 $2900.00 with a laptop. I think most of use will more limely use something cheaper. Fixed is pretty good for $59.00
Scotty Please Don't EVER Drive through " That Neighbourhood Again " The one with the Pink Houses " ! Those houses looked " Nauseating " ! And Nobody wants " to Forfeit their Lunch " !
It might be nearly $2k, but it could also be the difference between then spending $30 on a new sensor or getting tricked into spending $5k at the repair shop lol i only have 2 vehicles and just use the innova 5610 for diagnostics, but if I had more vehicles or ran a shop, Id buy his system TWICE if it meant I'd always do my job properly.
Scotty the device is almost 2 thousand to $3,000! It's almost like that's for a person who isn't a mechanic like a homeowner OBD assistant but nobody's going to spend that kind of cash on it. Most half-butted shade tree mechanics even can figure it out without the program. In a year or two we'll have artificial intelligence OBD readers that will do this for a fraction of the cost.
I enjoyed the effortd of educating me... I aint the common gear-head...lol... Pssst !! Thar be 40+ vehicles among my immediate family members... that are savvy enuf...to use that tool.

Exactly. I just put duct tape over the check engine light. I change my oil when I slam on the brakes and the oil light comes on 😂

Not bad, but I’m not spending $1800.00 for this tool.
$1800+
- John H
Does the car need to be warmed up?
That's alot of money. Not for joe car owner?
Solution- make more money
Damn Scotty, the matrix has had 3 fixes in the last month or 2. What's going on!!!
You cannot take Uncle Scotty down.
I've had good luck with the Blue Driver scan tool. It is much less expensive.
Will it tell you which is the faulty fuel injector?instead of us having to change out all the injectors at once?
After getting Elon’s Roman brain chip implanted I’ve had an insatiable urge to buy a Tesla and give people my heart.❤
That 20 MPH road sign was just a suggestion. 😏
😂
I have a 2015 buick lacrosse the car keeps shutting down as the screen in the car gpes dark put a new battery in it and worked fine for a fue weeks then it started dooing it again took it to chevy they did some work said it was fixed then left me setting again 1000 bucks later i think its the alrernator or the voltage regulator tryed to adress it with the garage and they insist its a ground i cant keep throwing 1000 bucks at it while they play guessing games with my paycheck any ideas on why the voltage dropes just below operating voltage?
Scotty is the best😊
Neighborhood: "Activate the civil defense system siren! all children & pets inside, calmly enter storm bunkers, Scotty is out test driving! Listen for the all clear siren"🚨
It should be good! $1,795.00 - $2,700.00.
So what you are saying is that the car should be warmed up. 🥶
Wtf scotty? That's a stop sign! @10:58
RIP, see you tomorrow! :)
Maybe if 20 of my closest friends went in together with me, wait, I dont have 20 close friends 😂
Damn did he just almost go off the road at like 10:35. I thought I heard tire squeal haha.
$1800 lol
@Scotty - At $1,795.00 the eScan is out of reach of most everybody but professional mechanics. Too bad, it would be well worth it for DIYers if it were in the $500 range. Maybe they could produce a version locked to a single VIN for a couple hundred bucks . . .
Scotty will this scan tool work on my Tesla?
2k here in the uk. It's cheaper to guess and replace everything.
ATS Escan Elite is about $1800.00? For a dongle?
My veepeak bluetooth obd cost $15 on aliexpress.
what if you have a obd 1?
This will speed up diagnostic. And more accurately diagnose the problem and more accurately find difficult to diagnose problems. Saving the shop lots of time and money. And having more happy repeat customers.
Scotty, update your tool list for this product. Q, you plugged into a laptop, they offer a "tablet" for those who do not have a LT PC. Will live data be the same between the two?. By the way, have used ATS Oil and Fuel treatment many times and WOW. One needs to ask questions before spending money. Best DVD:)
At $2,000 that’s way overpriced. The autel maxsys ultra will do all that and more.
Autel makes good stuff
Does Auto Zone do it for FREEEEE
No
Yes they tested my car and printed a test result.😊
The problem with scan tools is the car you attatch them to. Its only going to show what the computer and sensors read. If it hasnt got the sensors, or the manufacturer uses odd readings, you can't always see whats wrong by examining live data. Ive got a ford with a common rail diesel, and i suspect something wrong with an injector, but it hasnt got injector timings, or compensation factors. All ive got is rail pressure so im S.O.L
Scotty, where are the oxygen sensors in my Tesla?
In the glove box
Cheaper to have someone change the oxygen sensor and catalytic computer. now if you had 2 or three cars. $1785
Fixed is pretty good for $59.00
I was waiting to see if the Matrix could do a burnout.
Scotty Please Don't EVER Drive through " That Neighbourhood Again " The one with the Pink
Houses " !
Not a DEI hire are you Scotty 😂🤣
How about ATS rents it, like some locksmiths rent out out for key cloning, or Toyota Techstream
The best way to keep away from car problems is to go with manual transmission. The system will be more simple.
stop signs are actually yield signs lol
That's pretty cool.
OBDElleven does the exact same stuff for VAG cars for like $80
