Looking at the sky, water or walls, the frame rate goes way above 30. I think it could mean that InFamous could run at 60fps with a powerful emulation, or a backwards compatibility (come on Sony, do it!). InFamous 1-2 deserved a remaster like the one made for Uncharted Trilogy
@@spiderofthehood6127 It's funny as hell seeing inFamous 2 locked to 30fps with occasional bad framepacing vs shitting itself on RPCS3. Meanwhile inFamous 1 is the antithesis, running smooth as butter on RPCS3 & absolute dogshit on native.
@@GeneralSouthParkFanthat's because the better the game ran on the PS3, the harder it is to emulate. When they did infamous 2 they probably had learned how to use the SPUs so the game ran better on the OG hardware. However this means that emulation just became much harder, because the behavior of the SPUs is the hardest thing to emulate. Infamous 1 probably ran like shit on the OG because they must have used only the PPU, which makes emulation far easier.
I've had my ps5 for a month but I recently bought a ps3 after selling my old one 11 years ago and it has put that spark back into me. The ps3 was something special and seeing the inFamous gameplay trailer on TV when I was 10 changed my life 🤣
Kinda interesting how the game runs mostly at stable 30fps during battle but drops to 25-ish to lower *after* the battle is over. Then the game also reaches around 50fps while climbing if the camera is faced up.(thanks to uncapped fps) A very strangely optimization from SuckerPunch I must say.
I got a PS3 Slim due to for YEARS wanting to play this game and my Gaming Laptop has performance issues running RPCS3. I do hope I can overclock the PS3 slim to get 60fps.
@@youamazing41 Lossless Scaling has a frame interpolation that does on the fly generation ak interpolation with the gpu of choice on whatever Windows thing it runs on
@@lucascoval828 Yes 30 frames look like a movie and also like natural motion. Games are being made in a more and more over the top cinematic way, so why would I want unnatural soap opera movements and then ADD things like artificial motion blur that takes up computing power, especially the higher the frame rate goes? It is nonsensical. And it has been tested numerous times that the "I can react faster in ego shooters"-argument is pretty much nosense, because of your eye and neural limitations. It's like horse power on a car or freakishly high mega pixel counts on cameras - people want it, because the industry wants you to buy into the fairy tale that it would make a significant difference and set you apart from others, so you can treat your PC at home as a status symboly, because it can handly the freakischly high frame rate, without much of a drop and such, when it is actually just a trick to get you to constantly buy new things.

Still one of the best PS3 exclusives, I love this game and its sequel.

run that badly native? I 100% it in 2011

Too bad there was no remastered version on PS4. A locked 60fps would have been so fun!!!
That good ol ps3 framerate.

It was my favourite game on ps3 but it lagged very much... like 15 fps all the time
Probs a problem on your end
@@broughton1835 is a game problem. Infamous 2 has much better framerate than this with much better graphics.
well. actually Infamous 2 runs pretty bad. 30fps but can drop frequently. sometimes it hits 60fps.
This game is underrated but gold
This game and it’s sequel we’re pretty popular.
Been playing it a lot lately on a ps3, thanks man!
5:37 Anyone got a logical explanation for that?🤨
Sony should've remastered this and resistance years ago
I agree, this and the resistance games were amazing gems that need to be brought back and shown to the new generation

Game presavation isent Sonys thing is it
i bought ps3 again recently just for this game

Do infamous 2 frame rate analysis
Hi bro Ps3 Rsx Overclock frame rate stock vs overclock ?
Take note to anyone emulating these games, if you are seeing sub 30fps so were the players when it was relevant lol
Does the framerate get any better going down to 480p or does it still render at 720p?
As far as I know it renders at 720p but scales to 480p so no difference in performance
So we were watching infamous videos and randomly decided to look at the frame rate? 😂
Amazing game
ive played this game and the 2nd one enough times to consider myself insane.
20 💀
That smooth 20 fps
Great

This game runs much better than high budget GTA 4.
compared to this, GTA 4 on PS3 runs like complete @ss.
Well, GTA IV is a much more demanding game. Bigger city, more detailed buildings, more traffic, day/night cycle, and most of all: the physics
