Fantastic video Adam. I found a dapping set at a quite good price in my regional amazon. There are some available in ali express but the shipping is insanely expensive

For the thicker metal models (Metal Time, Time For Machine), I use a Worksharp Field Sharpener for filing down burs. The diamond plates are removable and work much more efficiently to file with. Much easier to get pieces smooth which is critical on the mechanical models.

Great idea! I might have to grab one and give it a go. I’ve been looking for something better

Dental picks for pushing, pulling and moving those hard to get to tabs(Harbor Freight). I mean we're not building anything really heavy duty here. I have found that the nylon dapping/doming tools develope some flat spots over time so I went to Harbor Freight and bought a pretty comprehensive METALset (on sale with coupon of course) and they have been working for me just fine. I was also gifted a Master Tools miniature metal brake and this thing is out of this world for those must have straight bends. It's about four inches by seven inches. I find that i use it a lot. It really helped me out on the ME Panzer IV build.Harbor Freight also has some neat silicone parts trays of varying sizes tha keep all of my building must haves within arms reach and it absolutely will not slip away from you.

The dental picks are popular but I haven’t tried them out yet. I can see though how they could be good for sliding tabs in place.
My nylon set has held up so far for about 6 years. The only reason I tend to go away from metal dapping punches is the potential to “erase” or elongate details when using a block. It’s hard to do yes but over all I find the nylon to have just enough give to be safer to use. Metal is still great don’t get me wrong.. it’s probably just preference.
The trays sound great to use and I might pick up a few to try out. Harbour freight has so many interesting tools too. We have princess auto here in Canada and they seem similar in stock. Looks like I need to make a trip haha
