@@norahgatesh Really? What is the reason for this? May it be related to the size of the trapdoor in the stage? I’m very curious if you have any more information on this!
@@collectedsimplicities it could also be for the enclosure for defying gravity. In the Stephanie j block tour video where she explains how it works, the thing that holds her in is very small. While being a size ten is I think smaller than the general population it could also be unsafe for the actress to not be entirely closed in. So, an adjustable entrapment to include actresses above a size ten but also keep actresses that are below a size ten snug tight in there might be a safer opt
@@smcoldbrew53 ahh thank you for that insight, that helps a lot! I thought about the defying gravity enclosure but wasn’t entirely sure. Thanks for the confirmation!
if They ever planned to make another new Cast version of the musical Wicked, Carrie Hope Fletcher could be an interesting and amazing option for the Role of Elphaba
Also, the idea that there is some size limit based on the lift or bubble or costumes that would prevent Carrie from doing the role is absurd. It’s true that this industry discriminates based on size, but for Carrie. It wouldn’t be an issue.
Guys. Carrie (probably) won’t play Elphaba because her career is doing fine on its own. Someone like her, who is well-known and successful enough to originate on the West End doesn’t need Wicked. (And, because of all that experience and name recognition, she comes at a higher price tag. Wicked would probably have to pay her more money) Carrie may want to play Elphaba and she’d make a good Elphaba, but it probably isn’t happening soon.
I really don’t think it has anything to do with her success so far. If she were to audition and get the role in the future it would be because she’s right for the role, just like the Elphaba’s gone by. Nothing to do with her name or the career she’s had so far. West End performers aren’t cast by their name or success but their talent.
15th Anniversary. They're usually willing to spend for that. For the 15th on Broadway they tried to get Ariana to play the role but it fell through so she did just the concert
@@NairAthul where on earth did it ever say she was in talks to go into the show? I (personally) don’t think she’d be a good fit for Elphaba. Wicked doesn’t need name recognition to sell tickets. Why would they waste their money? On Broadway, we’ve seen a shift to where new Elphabas are making their Broadway debut in the role. (Hannah Corneau, Lindsay Heather Pearce) They’re (probably) doing this because Elphaba is (again, probably) one of the highest paid roles in theater. (The heavy makeup, hard singing, etc etc) (my theory is that) they can bring on a Broadway debut at a lower rate.
Imagine Carrie as Elphaba and Celinde Schoenmaker as Glinda
I NEED THIS
YES YES YES AND MORE YES
THE DUO WE DIDN’T KNOW WE NEEDED
That needs to happen right after covid !!!!!!!
YESYESYESYESYESYES
We're doing Wicked songs in choir, and I am obsessed with Carrie in Cinderella, and this is amazing.
So crisp and clean! I love her as Elphie!
Those riffs at the end give me LIFE
My favourite song from my favourite musical sang by my favourite musical theatre actress, PERFECTION!
How have I only found this!! I need Carrie as Elphaba in my life ❤️❤️
I want Carrie to be in every role possible 😍
Oh my god she would be perfect
she sounds sooooo good wow
Missing being able to watch shows so very much. Dear God, please, open up the West End and Broadway next year. Missing normality :(
get her playing elphaba RIGHT now omg
she would actually be the PERFECT elphaba i don’t understand how she hasn’t been in wicked yet!!!
I know one of the reasons is the size rule. You cannot be larger then a size 10 to play Elphaba.

CARRIE AS GLINDA please
Glinda?
I’m also questioning why Glenda?
That might be interesting
Just because she's blond? I like her better as Elphaba.
She is Elphaba
