I'm almost 50 years old, dude, and from England. I'm exactly the same - I started wearing jeans and boots (DM's originally, then Timberlands, but wear Trickers/Cheaney etc.. now) from 14 years old. I never subscribed to jeans and trainers (sneakers where you are). Keep doing what you doing and wear what you like not what society says you should like. Good on you pal, keep up the good work.
Hi bro, I'm from Brazil and when I saw your video about jeans and boots, it taught me so much. I started wearing jeans when I was little and now I can't stop wearing them, and I understand the magical feeling of wearing boots. I recently got a pair of boots from my grandma and dad and the feeling of wearing them is simply magical. Know that you gained a subscriber, and your videos help me practice my English. Thanks bro.
@QuestoesQueTiveComigoMesmo hello brother, i'm from BH, i use a brand called huron, not famous but comfortable, i use a oakley to, its comfortable and resistant!
Yes. Inside out and absolutely no softener. Without the softener the garments last longer, stay clean longer, and actual stay wrinkle free after ironing.
When it is time for a new pair of boots, if you want to move up to the next level, check out Thursday boots. They are a higher quality boot and most cost $199. They are made in Mexico though and I know you want to buy made in the U.S. stuff. They have a few models that are made in the U.S. for a little more money, such as their Vanguard. Also, Red Wing Heritage boots are made in the U.S. and start at $300. The great thing about the Red Wings and the Thursdays is that they are Goodyear welted and can be re-soled. If you take good care of them, they could last you much of your lifetime. Buy two pair, alternate them, and keep use cedar boot trees when you aren't wearing them. You will have some upfront costs but they will last you a very long time. I also recommend Merino wool blend socks. Pricey but if you keep your toenails trimmed and filed, they will last you too. I like Darn Tough and Boardroom socks.
I've looked at the Thursday Vanguards, and I really just don't like the look of them. Moc toe is my favorite. I've heard a lot of good things about Darn Tough socks, and I'll switch to them after my Wrangler socks die out.
@@morpheusoneiros7704 Thursdays are absolutely not shit. They are the low end of quality made boots but you won't find anything better at that price. Red Wings are a definite up if you like the looks of them and can afford to spend another $100 or so and want to deal with a longer and more difficult break in period.
@@morpheusoneiros7704 thorogood has nicer leather than Wolver, but cost $100 more. White's Fulton on sale right now for $250 also but they didn't have my size so I didn't check them out vs the other brands.
@@andrew_louraDarn Tough Men's Hiker Micro Crew Midweight Hiking Sock are my everyday socks. I’ve been wearing them for over 10 years. Wear them in all 4 seasons. I’ve tried a few other brands of Merino Wool socks and didn’t like them as much as the Darn Tough.
Gotta say ive never watched anyone tie shoes in slow motion. I do it differently, but always assumed everyone did it the same. A neat video would be asking 30 people to tie their shoes. Old people, children, folks who dont see, thank you for showing this.
You seem like a swell and practical fella. Love that you focus on clothes that are versatile and long-lasting, as well as how you demonstrate your method for maintaining them. Not to mention your personality on camera is just very welcoming to listen to.
I've watched a few of your videos, I thought that I was going insane not finding anybody who thought the same way I did, I always wore jeans and boots, and now learned how the high quality stuff matters. Your videos have a lot of truth. keep it up, you'll go FAR!! thanks for the video!!
Been wearing the same "cowboy" boots everyday for years and they always look amazing. Paid 190 bucks for a good pair of Ariats and I take those suckers out in the rain, the mud, I run in em, and nothing can take them down. Boots are meant to be worn, and unless you bought cheap/overpriced garbage they will last.
That's the way it should be. A good pair of boots are meant to be abused, but can handle it. Even if you get expensive boots, they will last forever (with a couple resoles), and you will get your money back pretty quickly.
Great vibe dude. I'm 27 now and have money to afford nice things but I don't care too much right now. Your channel is inspiring me to have a look again. By the way, when I was your age, I had the aame passion. I used to turn the jeans upside down, and then dump them in a bucket with water and detergent and keep them soaked for 20 mins or so, I remembered i had a jeans pretty ok quality and it lasted forever until it got torn apart near my knees when i fell down my motorcycle. Anyway, I was one of the most well dressed guy in my college. Not the guy with most expensive items but decent clothing with clean look. Everybody complicated me all the time. Anyway keep making these vids. Watching this from India
I became obsessed within a short period of time, with quality leather boots. Specifically makers from the pacific northwest with the silhouettes designed for laborers. I dove in and got a pair of Whites Perrys for my first leather boots and I have no regrets. The feeling you get from putting these bad boys on is like piecing the last piece of a puzzle with your grandparents while sipping hot cocoa in a mountain cottage. 5 gum could never. If you buy boots, buy good ones if you have the means. It means youll love them more.
Boots and jeans, I have been dressing like that for almost 6 years now. The only difference being the type of boots I use, i like wearing military boots.
I'm on the university and all my friends wear sneakers, personally i don't like wear sneakers, almost every day i wear my classic boots from a brand called Flexi, very popular in México. And my good classic pair of jeans Levis or Wrangler.
I do that too , turn my jeans inside out before washing them. Then i hang them on the clothes line that way , upside down to give them a little stretch in the length.
I've definitely had spin cycle ruin the dark pants e'en when they are new BUT I used t' feel the same way about denim jeans until I found other pants that I like wearing a lot more most often. I would wash after two or three days still if doing much more than sitting around the house on cool days, though. You'll still find that e'en w'out washing that they will get soft in the seat, but back in the 70s and 80s, washing was how you made the holes in the knees and stuff come sooner, which made the faded jeans look that much cooler.... Now e'erybody wants cheap pants t' last half a decade or something.
We used t' all get three pairs at the beginning of the school year, and then in spring we had two or three pairs of cut-off shorts for summer. And maybe one pair would last until fall or not, depending on if we got some extra pair in March or whatever that didn't fade until they ripped yet.
Yeah Wranglers are way better then Levi's. I was an idiot when I bought these jeans 5ish years ago, and I definitely won't get the same ones again. But I'm stuck with them, because I put longevity above all.
@@andrew_loura But if longevity is the only criteria, then some canvas and corduroy pants might beat denim jeans, anyway. I always enjoyed throwing different colors into the mix, so I would get grey ones and brown or tan ones, so sometimes that also meant getting the Lee ones if they were on sale, etc.I used t' only find the black Levi's for some outfits, but now I have some pairs by other brand for winter, etc.
My dad gave me some boots he got at his job but they were the wrong size, so he gave them to me instead. They have lasted over 10 years and still going strong. No need for maintenance either
It takes about a 8-12 months for me to burn through a pair of jeans only to go looking for new ones again. I have been washing my jeans, but with all my other clothes. What ends up happening that "kills" them is the stitching holding them together at my groin ends up developing a hole, likely from my legs rubbing together when I walk. What can I do to make my jeans last longer? Note I always have bought "flex fit" jeans that have elastic in the material to make them more movable. Any tips would be greatly appreciated. Nice video btw
Start washing them by themselves, without fabric softener and inside out. Remember that each wash will slightly weaken the denim. Make sure that you get high quality denim if they are already wearing out within a year, and I would recommend getting gusseted jeans if they are ripping near the crotch area. Elastic is fine, just make sure the jeans are at least 80% cotton. 100% cotton is ideal though.
I was going to go with a pair of Redwings or Thorogood, but I'm leaning towards Redwing. Hopefully I won't have to buy a new pair of boots for a while, but these Timberlands are already falling apart. I really beat them up at my job though, so I'll definitely need well constructed boots.
This man has created his own unique aesthetic. What a gem he is 💎

Unless something is heavily soiled it can be washed on the gentle cycle. This will damage the fibers less and preserve the color of the fabric.
