  • We take Clay and go through the entire pottery process of throwing on the wheel, firing in a bisque kiln and then glazing and firing again in the glaze kiln. See the whole process with no distractions of talking or music. I hope you feel the same calm and satisfying feelings I get while throwing clay and I hope it gives you an appreciation for the art!

    This is truly so soothing to watch, sit down and relax and watching what kind of magic you can create :) I have been a fan of ceramics myself and was thinking about giving it a shot from time to time, but will see :) thank you for sharing these videos with us and keep up the lovely work. All the best to you.

    Hi, What type of clay is that? And how did you get speckles?

    • @gremlingiirl
      @gremlingiirl ปีที่แล้ว +2

      for the speckles in the glaze theres certain glazes that are reactive to the heat in the kiln! that means when they get baked the speckles form... not sure how it works but the place i go to do pottery has reactive glazes that have speckles in them similar to the one they used in the video!
      hopefully this is helpful

      its a clay with some type of grog. grog makes it so that your dinnerware is more resistant to extreme temperature changes. so basically adds strength to the clay

    can I use it unpainted?

    • @travelwell6049
      @travelwell6049 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      If you wanted to drink from it, it would need to be coated in a food safe glaze before the final firing in the kiln.
      If you want to use it as a pen pot or something like that, then you can leave it dry without paint and without glaze.

      Is firing necessary?

    • @itzakpoelzig330
      @itzakpoelzig330 8 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      Yes, otherwise it will always be fragile and water will melt it.
      They use unfired ceramics in movies when they smash a plate over someone's head. That way it's soft enough that the actor won't get hurt.
