A haunted hay ride actually turning into a haunting experiencing for their parents. This is tragic and sad. May they rest in peace and my condolonces to their family.
Unfortunately, accidents like this aren’t new. Just over 30 years ago there was a haunted hay ride at a state park in my area. A week or so after I and some friends had rode on it, one of the workers hired to jump on the trailer and scare the riders grabbed onto the rail and accidentally slid under the trailer causing it to run over him which resulted in his death.
I went on a hayride when I was little and had fun but it’s sad for others it ended badly. I agree go slow with these rides that’s what makes it more enjoyable it gives time enjoy the scenery. Also if you have small kids hold onto to them while you ride. RIP to the two boys.
as blade said it could've been on a slope, or passengers could've been ignoring warnings and stood up, leaning over - causing too much weight on one side ad it tipping.
Maybe it rained before hand and the trail was all tore up and muddy. So it could of sank in the mud or even hit a huge rock. Anything honestly can cause it to flip
The main issue is that people aren't taking safety seriously. How many more lives need to be lost to negligence? So yeah, who's responsible for these children losing their lives?

Drivers need to be especially careful when taking corners. I was on a parking lot tram at a ski area one time, and the driver came around a negative-banked turn way too fast. The centrifugal force threw most riders off the last car, including a small toddler. I was in that last car, and the only reason I stayed on was because I was sitting on the inside of the turn, and hanging on for dear life. After that, whenever I skied there I skipped the tram, and walked instead!
