Loving all the scenery. Imagining the fresh wooded/grassland smells too. Also, did you win the staring contest with the deer at 12:05? Thank you so much for recording all of this! Beautiful eagle at 12:41 too, almost as majestic as the dancing branch at 12:38.

just seeing your comment now so sorry for the delay!
It was fun watching the deer, they had the "if i dont move he wont see me" attitude
Thanks for watching, the wildlife was amazing and Im glad to be able to share it!

It is a pretty neat path out of itasca, first straight north then east before heading more south

Thanks for watching! I did wish i had one from time to time, it would have freed up the hands for better things like eating and filming but everything went really well in the boat i used. And im very comfortable in my kayaks at this point

Have you ever tried Clif bars? They seen to sustain me the best when paddling.

o yeah, i had dozens on the boat at any given time but the amount of calories burned was far greater then the amount consumed. you will see some of the effects of that later in the series where i talk about how hungry I start to feel all the time

These maps come from the minnesota dnr and are free upon request. they have several maps that will get you as far as hastings, mn. after that some people will purchase the army corps of engineers navigation map books for the rest of the way but i just used my gps on my phone and my garmin gps
