Shocking Blue..... Mariska Veres is still my favourite, now I am 65 yo but I am still love them, specially Venus and Never marry a rail road man. RIP Mariska Veres my dear
I use to really love watching Mariska Veres & Shocking Blue on my parent's black & white television singing 'Never Marry a RailRoadMan'......back in 1969 & 1970s. I remember the 'RailRoadMan' with 'Mariska Veres' in the music video film walking together holding hands. She was one wonderful beautiful amazing lady alright, and I also miss her alot also. I love it now, that I can watch her everyday on my old emachine computer on TH-cam.
The greatest hollandaise & european band ever! Mariska was really good singer and van Leuwen was & is the most innuitive and imagineriest song writer after Lennon & McCartney. This song I´ve been playing with the guitar modulation after another, the great guitar solo. Little band can do what ever with good ideas: that´s Shocking Blue. I Love You Mariska, where ever You are!! Johan Knaus from Finland
Ik heb met haar in dezelfde buurt van Den Haag gewoond ! On de corner!! We zaten op dezelfde school!! Haar sisters heten Ilonka en Irene,, vader was Hongaarse violist in zigeunerorkest,,, lieve mensen❤
Even as early as 1980, the soul of the seventies had been replaced by "industry standards" and "commerce formats", evident here and sad to see from one of the best darling 70's bands.
WOW.... This "latter version" is totally different to the 1970 version... BECAUSE there is something "missing" Yes & it's the Harmonica... Those nescessary yet soulfull "wind_instrument" tunes... You can clearly HERE THESE... (in the 3D Wide_Mode "version")

RIP & God bless her Mariska Veres (1 October 1947 - 2 December 2006) - she gave up BIG $$$$$ by REFUSING a Playboy spread & given the time period folks, it shows a devotion for integrity; I know I know lost on this generation! Just saying!
I prefered the long dark hair and make up of the sixties... I was just in love with that Girl when I was a young boy... (by the way: what an ugly guitar !). Live performance of Shocking Blue remains a intense moment of pleasure

Amazing eyes and voice R.I.P awesome Mariska.
I get depressed every time I see Mariska Veres, knowing she died far too young. One of the most amazing voices in the history of modern music
She lived more than most
Now we're two...........Beautiful and amazing voice......

Got the same. Still missing her dearly.😢
They were definitely getting better by 1980. The punchy Pbass under the 12 string Danelectro and their solid drummer all sounds great
Good stuff.

Wow! They sound awesome live. 👍

A great life performance. What a pitty that such good bands seem to be gone. Still brilliant after almost 30 years.

In the 60s and 70s, she wore wigs.
I love the electric 12 string guitar Robbie is playing, does anyone know what make/brand it is ?
