How does the Mercedes-Benz plug-in hybrid, the GLE 450e, compare? Check out my review here: 2024 Mercedes-Benz GLE 450e Review: Quiet, Quite Good!

Your lighting isn’t great on a lot of your shots and hard to see details of the design. Just feedback

    Great Review !
So is the braking like ACC stop and Go? Where it’s using radar to detect how to slow you down?

Thank you! And that's a good question. I do not know for certain, but I will research that.

What an amazing and thorough review. Great job explaining the car in detail.
That said, I wish this system was a true hybrid not plug 🔌 in on the C8 Eray which allows the engine to charge the batteries amd no need to plug it in.

Thank you so much! One non-plug-in-hybrid that I really like is the Lexus TX, granted it's a completely different kind of SUV. It's here, if you're at all curious: th-cam.com/video/Y6bO9aw8jKc/w-d-xo.htmlsi=D7WK0Ie5BonUkb3f

Weird thing is in europe the electric delivers 120hp and the inline 6 380hp

don't buy these now. wait for next gen. tons of failures with the new 50e battery systems. look up "expansion vent failure", "refrigerant shut off", "sme module", and "combined charging unit" failures for the xdrive50e. about 50% of xdrive50e owners on x5 forums are reporting failures and months in the shop.
the xdrive50e has the potential for greatness but it is not there yet. it's let down by the unreliability and bugs that bmw has not yet resolved.

Thanks for the tips. Approximately when is the next gen. estimated to come?

I waited a bit and purchased in December 2023 (November 2023 build). Absolutely no issues. The car is fantastic.

@@Tom-mn6tm consider yourself very lucky you're one of the very few that has not experienced problems yet.

@@Chaka2479 wait for 2025 model hopefully they get the bugs fixed by then. or buy a used xdrive45e which has all the bugs worked out already.

I have an October 2023 build with 7500 miles without any problems. I love driving in electric around town. So smooth.

the BMW nomenclature/naming/designating scheme for their vehicles is nothing short of absurd and crazy... Very bad marketing ideas in this company...

How was the road noise on this 50e. Heard some complains on humming road noise on this plug-in hybrid.

I didn't notice that myself. It's pretty quiet. Though the Mercedes-Benz GLE 450e is quieter if you curious: th-cam.com/video/WGR5WrXE2u8/w-d-xo.html

I own two of them. The Hankook run flats are quiet on asphalt and noisy on concrete. Luckily for me most of the roads around here are paved with asphalt.
