Today its time to fly out the C202 in a Realistic Battle. Flew out with the C.202 Folgore for the first time since release of 1.69, Regia Aeronautica, to check out the C202 Folgore's current performance. And I found out exactly what the C.202 is about in RB, lets see how it went. Hope you enjoy :)

Jengar I thought the Italian planes at low tier were manouverable?
This one isnt too maneuverable Tim, and Nick, the Win/Fail compilation for the giveaway comments is comming on tuesday most likely. I had to work eveningshifts instead of dayshifts because of a sick collegue. And eveningshifts are very bad for my video making ;)

Oh.... the "Folgore".... what a great fighter it was. Respected by everyone, british/germans, loved by the italian pilots... a true contender among the "greatest fighters of ww2" and the epitome of the typical italian fighter; nimble, good maneuverability, not good armament, sleek lines, fast.
Strange about the "fragile" things... have you seen a cutout of the wings of the 202? And of its structure? It was amazingly sturdy, able to sustain +16G (!), amazingly sturdy. The wing was even too sturdy and complex for war-manufacturing.
Shame they made it so fragile in the game. It was among the toughest warbirds of ww2, structure-wise.
There's a lot ingame that doesnt match reality in the name of balance ;)

My pilot always gets killed when my plane get shot, and sometimes enemy can oneshot this C202

You'd never flown this plane til now!?! It's a total beauty and it used to dominate a low tier in terms of flight performance and is still one of if not the best imo. Only ever let down by the guns which have at least been buffed recently. But of course you've still taught me things I didn't realize about this plane! Another great video!

One of the first planes I actually had fun RB matches :) I have also noticed how the smaller calibers have been toned down a bit.
It flies very nicely, but indeed them guns ;)
A little over 2 years on now and your evaluation still holds true. Fun flight model with fine speed; the guns still seem a little week compared to other 50s and never hang around anything that is shooting back at you!
I finally started researching the italian tech tree, loooooooong overdue tbh, got the C.202 this morning, only had time for 1 match in it, but first impressions do not dissapoint! it is a very snazzy plane, and its preformence seems pretty good, next up for me is the C.202EC! Mayby it will cause my opinion on italian planes to... change sides ;)

Italian surplus is cool that way. It's axis and allied at the same time.
what a pity that it is fragile now, it used to be sturdy as in reality (in Africa it got the reputation to be sturdy)
I've had a few of those one hit engine die offs, too often for it to be bad luck lets say.
How was the interrogation after that landing in enemy land? :)
Our troops won the battle and captured the airfield, the pilot escaped to our attacking collumn ;)

A don´t like this one but C202EC is a great plane with cannons and a lot of ammo! Nice video as usual, Jengar!
The EC is a completely different story indeed ;)
I found the EC version really fun to use. It completely owns it BR
its good, but has some big downsides, i like it too though :)

Just say it the 50's were buffed just to intro the Italian line up . I knew they would nurf back once the 1.69 ran a bit so yeah The guns are really bad on this thing . and it falls out of the sky with a simple hit , but it looks great :) The Texas Gent
Spot on i think, but it definitely looks good ;)
I've definitely noticed that the Japanese 12.7s have been nerfed almost to how bad they were before, and the 7.7s are back to doing no damage
i feel its all the small calibers for all nations :)
Just started to research the italian tree :) Gotta say that the flight models in this plane and the first cannon version of 202 are not my favorite. Also the italian 50cals are quite bad :/ in arcade the rudder is pretty much no no for these planes because they lose their energy completely and start to drift quite like I-185 does, in realistic it's a bit better.
I havnt flown it yet in arcade, will have to look at it there someday ;)

This is a good plane but, not a plane I enjoyed spading. Good thing the 50 cals as been buffed tho. It bnz but I feel it's limited in that role. A good pilot can do great in this plane (as seen in this video). It's just that at this br there is better planes like the f1, like you said, and even the buffalo feels more lethal.

Cheers mate! they were buffed, but im convinced they have been tweaked back again the 50 cals.
Nice to know the weaknesses of this plane looks like attacking bombers you better try to hit the pilot while diving on him.

Just unlocked the C.202 EC and had some good matches in it. At least the firepower is ok and it has some traits of the C.202 but it looses the fantastic climb rate and top speed is not great.
yeah, got to be very disciplined in it :)

Great video man! Do one in arcade with the C202 EC, I believe the Italians are better in ab. 😀 It would be a great video ! I did a battle in ab using that plane and got 15 kills in ab.. It iS FRiCKiNG OPPPP!!!! Pls make a video
About low tiers like reserves it would be fun to go back to the roots!

Oh and im almost at tu 14 but does the il 28 have a bombsight like tu 14?since the rb doesnt have the red bomb sight anymore.. il 28 seems to be better than tu 14 so i need to know what i should grind
I dont play tanks ;) there's no reason to focus the tu-14 over the il-28.
It’s a very nice looking plane, but it’s kind of a let down
Now there’s nothing wrong with the plane itself, it’s what it faces
Since this plane is a boom and zoomer, you have to get above your enemy, however it’s climb rate is fairly average, meaning you have to side climb. It’s guns are also pretty weak
I say it’s comparable to the P51. Good climb rate and boom and zoomer, but always outclimbed

I feel Italian 12mm ammunition in WT is important to shoot at close range
yeah, but sometimes that is not an option with a boom and zoomer ;)

To be honest, I dont see a lot of difference between 202 and 205. And I really like the guns :).
The 205 has half the climb rate as a regular 202. A slightly better turnrate and far more fire power. And is 20 miles faster than a regular 202. Over all the 205 is a general improvement over the 202. But the 202 would still be quite competitive against a 205.

I grew to like those. Of course, they cant compare to american 50cals, but they do the job. I did like C202 in the german tree, when they were horrible, so I feel the upgrade. Also, my aim is much worse than yours, so I appreciate the good ammo count :).
Are you refering to the regular 205 or the cannon armed one
why the Italians never put the DB601E on this plane is a mystery, they should have begged and begged the Germans to get it

Marco Pavone Cheatfires? Ehm. No. Just experience of the RAF pilot who shot him down.
If you look at that 2nd match, you see me taking pass after pass at enemies, and i get hits every single time. Which means my aim was there, but the guns let me down a good few times there, resulting in me spending too much time on them targets. Where they should have been down i had to make 2 or 3 more passes, instead of already climbing back up, wasting time, giving the other players on the enemy team more time to get into position. Especially the p-43 confrontation took way too long. But anyway, story of this plane to me, lack of stopping power.

Allied teams are starting to have a better win ratio, but i think that's not because they're getting better but 'cause axis players are getting worse and doing stupid things more often.

I, kind of, play a few matches here and there but i've been pretty busy getting some things done that are necessary to achieve one of my dreams... I'm travelling to China to improve my wushu skills!, im very happy but i know i'm gonna miss youtube, facebook, warthunder and more stuff like that. Anyways, i'm learning something very important i needed in my life with this: dont't look back and don't be afraid of changes :D

Yea low tier with the Italy planes all you do is play like hurricanes and spitefire and p400 and they shred everything I find it you have to be really high to stay alive
I agree, and the guns often providing lack of finishing power causes you to have to take more attack runs on an enemy, giving other players more chance to get into good positions against you.
