Nice video and great information. I had the same idea with the Laegendary Thunder and HBX. I have also switched out the servos. Also I have the upgraded 9kg servo on my Thunder. 👍

I think i seen that video once before, that one you mentioned yesterday.. they guy used silicone o rings in between the washers on the control arms and the steering bell crank and drag link??.. seemed like a great idea I think it'll work! . Like regular ball joints on a vehicle lol. Good luck !!

@@SoundStream101 yes sir, that's the video. So far, so good with my method here as well, I waited to upload this video until I tested it and it's a complete different RC now. It has plenty of movement on the pivot points, no binding and absolutely as easy to control now as my LAEGENDARY Thunder, well worth the time and effort, works great! Thanks for watching!

@@RCrepairAndBuilds I had to replace the big E-clip on my Thunder's servo saver, the original one popped off somewhere out in the yard and lost it, so I replaced it and squeezed another one in right beneath it, now the servo saver is nice and tight. Maybe I'll try this o-ring trick on the tie rods because they they're starting to get a little loosey goosey lol.

@@SoundStream101 never had that problem, yet anyways with the servo, now watch after I made that statement mine will fall off 🤣😅🤣

Tons and tons and tons of good knowledge. Really informative video is the slop and the 2997 a so bad that you can't drive it or is this fix just to get it as good as it can be after talking I'm kind of thinking about purchasing the 2997a. just wondering keep up the good work, buddy

@@OB_RC it isn't so bad you can't drive it, but it's so bad that you can't drive it straight, safely at high speeds until you address the issues I showed in these video's! I am 100% completely happy with this truck now and you need 1 in your collection and I'll be glad to help you address these small adjustments. You won't be disappointed in this truck after you make these minor upgrades, if you are, I'll buy it from you! It is a very fast and reliable little rig !

Just throwing it out there, but if you can't find those other O-rings you might even get away with using them tiny red O-rings that go inside shocks.?.. maybe maybe not lol

@@SoundStream101 yes sir! Heck man, anything would have been a improvement I believe, atleast there's 2 verified ways to help the 2997A on YT now, I'll drop the video probably tmrw of the runs I made after the repair, actually gained 1.1 mph as well 👍

So just those clips fixed most of the slop? You think I might be good with just that? You still happy with the fix after a few runs in it?
Great fix man! You have the best HBX 2997a running mods for sure!

@@BriansRCStuff yes sir, the washers also helped. Still running straight for now, well I hope, I'm out of town and if my daughter hasn't crashed it then it should be 😆

@@BriansRCStuff nah, not the best by far, yours has been more consistent and stable. That truck is a handful at 60+ mph ,period ,no matter who is driving it or owns it , IMHO.

Grease on a dirt truggy linkage? I don't think its the right thing to do...shims if not to tight is fine add..

@@roadstar499 if you're familiar with my channel or watched the entire video and other video's on the HBX you'll know it's set up for speed runs only, on paved or concrete surfaces, like every single RC that I own. My daughter uses hers offroad but all I do is speed test, even after 45 years of this hobby, I still learn something everyday. Shims also work but require having to remove the screw if you need to loosen or tighten up the clearance, C or E clips allow you do make adjustments without removing anything other than the clip 👊
      Have a good day

When i said shims i guess i should have said washers, orings,c clips and spacers etc...yes for speed runs lube doesn't matter...
