    Thank you SO MUCH for doing these videos. Son, DIL and g’sons are missionaries in SL. We visited for 5 weeks a couple of years ago and are going back soon. We go to the markets in Waterloo and grocery stores in Freetown. Thanks so much for any other help you could offer for just general short congratulations.

    I love how Krio sounds like Jamaican patwa. Atleast words like "tomatis" "wata" and "koknut" is how I talk.

    Yes, for Liberians, our version is Groundpea Soup. I have a lot of Salonean family, but they grew up in Liberia so I heard very little Krio spoken and little experience with the food. I enjoyed this series. I learned a lot.

    • @Serena_Kemba
      @Serena_Kemba  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      How cool! Don't some parts of Liberia speak Krio, too? Or is it mostly English?

    • @ToP5ReP
      @ToP5ReP 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@Serena_Kemba English is the official language on paper lol but there are many dialects/languages spoken. Well over 16. I've read that there's a Liberian Kreyol but I've only known to call it Liberian English or Koloqua. Or that could be something different. However, Liberian Koloqua is what's spoken throughout the country.
