Thanks for playing. I need to learn Krio as well. Why is Sabrina in Sierra Leone? Vacation? Tranga es = Someone that doesn't listen. Sometimes= stubborn Pipul= People Tenki = Thank you Kushe = I don't have a precise translation for it. But it something like Hey! Kabor = Welcome Waka waka = Walk ( as in walking) Wahala = Problem Debul = Evil spirit Tenda = Thunder Krase Man = Mad Man Usai u day ?= Where are you? Usai u day go? = Where are you going? How d bodi? = How do you do? Omos 'O' clock? = what's the time? Or what does the time say? Tiday na fine day = Today is a good day San day komot tiday? = Will it be sunny today?
Krio/Creole is simply english vocabulary +grammar with its own rules from the beautiful west african languages. I am a proud liberian until I die. But I have adopted krio as my language. Be proud of it. If Kris is broken then english it self is broken latin. I am a linguist. A language scientist. ❤❤❤
Don’t worry Sabrina, I respect your effort, the Krio language has unwritten rules depending on context, the person who is speaking it, and how much and how well they understand the language. There are variants of it with other borrowed words from other African language from other parts of West African countries such as Nigeria with its own pidgin language very similar to Krio. so it’s flexible. The basis of Krio is English. Wahala is a Nigerian language from the Yoruba language meaning trouble. Another deep Krio word for trouble is Dombolo, Jekuteh for instance. Tranga Yase meaning stubborn. Well done ladies, keep it up!
There's a lot of comminality between Krio and Sranan Tongo (Suriname) Krio - Sranan Tongo Tranga Es - Tranga Yesi Waka - Waka Na - Na Komot - Komoto Uman - Uma Os - Oso Sabi - Sabi Tiday na fine day - Tide na wan bun dey Both languages are English based creoles but it's cool to see
Yes Portuguese words like "pequinino" becoming child and saber are widespread in creole languages all over the world because Portugal was the first European country to open up transoceanic trade. They were in Africa while France and England were fighting the 100 Years' War!
Gullah and krio is supposed to be very similar, as enslaved Africans Americans (Gullah) came to Sierra Leone and Helped form the krio language . Have you heard Gullah ppl talk, can you understand them?
Anyway sabrina kudos for that 😁😁😁 But kuseh is not a greeting in krio Is simple mean : When someone do a great job well done then u say kuseh For Example:kuseh oo,u don try
Great job Caro Della🙌🥰

Kabob in krio is welcome
