  • Is this the future of eye glasses?
    Are Zeiss smart life lenses worth it?
    I appreciate my vision so much more today after struggling with strabismus when I was a child.
    These new Zeiss lenses showed me how much technology has improved since I was a kid. The smart life individual machine takes a 180 degree photo when you try on new glasses, it doesn't only show you what you look like with your new spectacles but it also saves information of exactly how it sits on your face and how they should "individualize" they lenses to where your eyeball see's through the lens.
    They are pretty expensive but are they worth it?

    2:25 man that explanation is so much easier to understand than all the other videos that advertised Smartlife lenses, they used all these big words rather than just explain it simply as you do with the visual of what happens on the lenses

    There is no way that an algorithm can cater for every needs. He skipped the blur zones that exists on very progressive lens. Use your own judgement 😅

      @@felipeavila2605 Don't think so. I can't tell the difference when compared to a Zeiss single vision lens. My prescription is -7, and I'm 25. Maybe I'm too young to tell a difference? Older people might be able to see a bigger difference?

      @@andrewthach1234 Do you also get eye-strain and headaches from Zeiss glasses while you're on your computer? The vision with Zeiss lenses (single vision unifocal aspherical / myopic) is clear and sharp, but the pain becomes unbearable after a while.

    Hey I just bought Smartlife Individual lenses. The watermark in corner carries full “Zeiss” instead of “Z”
    Can you confirm once?

    • @TheWimmas
      @TheWimmas  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I have the ''Z'' logo engraved on my lenses like this: www.zeiss.co.za/vision-care/better-vision/look-for-z-like-zeiss-when-you-choose-lenses.html. But I have also read about people having the word "Zeiss" engraved. I noticed months after having the lenses that I also have my own name engraded.

      @@TheWimmas Do you have a "Z" logo or a "Zeiss" logo on your SmartLife glasses? It's really strange. My Zeiss Unifocal Aspherical glasses from 2017 have a "Z" in both lenses. My new Zeiss SmartLife individual Photofusion glasses have a "Zeiss" logo in corners of both lenses. Both glasses were bought from different opticians, I was just wondering if one of them wasn't authentic.

      @@z.t.4012 How can I be sure if I got a genuine Smartlife individual not other types of Smartlife because apparently they are the most expensive in UK.

    • @z.t.4012

      @@majidkashani4257 A while ago, I have ordered the Photofusion regular "Grey" self-tinting photo-chromatic SmartLife Individual lenses which are x1,67 thinned down and include the Duravision Platinum coating.
      This is what I have personally observed about my glasses:
      U will have the following logo's engraved by laser on each of your lenses:
      -Each of the laser-engraved logo's are perfectly mirrored/symmetrical in regards to the other lens and both fit perfectly inside of your specific frame.
      -At the top-outer corner of each lens, you will find a "Zeiss"-logo laser engraving inside of a squared shape. This logo will give off a slight gold/silver shine when the glasses are tilted. Perhaps this effect is better noticed when the glass is darkened/tinted with Photofusion self-tinting version, like in mine.
      -Near your nose area, you will find a "Z"-logo. Directly under it, you will find a "SLI67" (if the lens has been thinned down by x1,67) or "SLI6" (if the lens has been thinned down by x1,60) or "SLI5" (if the lens is a regular SmartLife Individual x1,50). These laser-engraving are more difficult to spot.
      -U will also get an official Zeiss Authenticity-card with your purchase. It will have your name on it, and it will note clearly what type of lens it is together with other characteristics/specific information about the lenses.
      -Some Opticians will also hand over the packaging of each lens that they've received when ordering the lenses from their specific Zeiss-supplier. Although, not all Opticians do this.

    Still think you over paid for your glasses. I mean 400 dollars is what they go for above that. And you overpaid for them at least when it comes to zeiss. Unless it was the frame and optometrist that made the total cost 999 dollars. Also a tips when buying eyeglasses buy what optometrist and optician community whole agreed on. Not what the person selling you eyeglasses recommended. As most is just BS sale talk. As you can get it cheaper by buying not so recognizable brands.

    • @TheWimmas
      @TheWimmas  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Thanks for you input :) I didn't really care for what they said about the frames, I just went with what I was comfortable with. Also I think it was so expensive with all my add-on, I added the anti reflection, Photo Fusion and blue light filter. I also went for that individualized thing where they scan you with the 180 degree camera. I know I overkilled because my previous glasses I cheaped out and regretted it for like 7 years. I love my glasses now, I feel so much more comfortable :)

      @@cesarebaroli9610 It's fine actually, I just needed a lower prescription which I figured out later with my optometrist. For some reason everything is much sharper and clearer with these lenses, so it feels like wearing a higher prescription. The first time we added 0,25 diopter to one eye and it made my head spin and gave me headaches. I tried getting used to them for weeks, but they were unwearable. Because the lenses themselves already add sharpness, if you're in between diopters/cylinders, I would recommend getting the lower one or simply get your usual prescription, definitely don't go any higher. Now that I've been wearing the exchanged lenses for months, I can really say they are my best lenses.
