Been in Aylesbury for 11 years and the place has got worse in that small time. I remember when I was 16 coming to Aylesbury and walking around woolworths and the underground market so many stores have gone like Hmv and Cargo its depressing now 😢
I've just commented on the Norwich walk which is where I live today... but Aylesbury is near where I used to live. My family did most of the weekly boring food shopping in Leighton Buzzard and trips to Aylesbury were often much more fun when I was a child. My brother and I loved the three floor level Woolworth's store with a toy shop heaven and burger restaurant on the top floor, that was often the highlight of our Aylesbury shopping trips! Also the cinema was huge excitement. Seems so funny now!!😁 I remember my Mum taking me to the museum shown at the start of your walk. Surreal that was, because our visit was on a bright sunny summer day at the start of the school holidays, and apart from the van in the road looked like nothing had changed at all... felt like a time trip! I also found it interesting how many other shops in the main shopping area... The Body Shop, WH Smiths, M&S and McDonald's are all still in the same place. We have had a lot of changes over the years in Norwich, but this lovely town seems to have changed very little since the 80's. Wonderful to see it all again... thanks for the brilliant walk!!🤩
I got arrested under 'The Terrorism Act' last time I was walking round Aylesbury with my camera... Straight up, I'm not kidding..!! Nice video of my home town, by the way. 👍
Anyone else feel like this is one of the walkaround tours from video game technology demos. You know, the ones where they hype the game to the max and demo it on a machine costing more than most people's houses? I know Aylesbury well. It used to be a very nice little market town a very long time ago. It is not a disaster now, but it isn't as nice as it was.
