  • In a new memoir, "Love, Pamela," and a documentary to debut on Netflix, "Baywatch" icon Pamela Anderson reveals details about traumas she suffered as a child, and during a life lived in the harsh spotlight of the paparazzi. At her home on Vancouver Island, Anderson talks with correspondent Jim Axelrod about her notorious sex tape whose leak, she said, was "hurtful," and about how being a mother helped her survive becoming tabloid fodder.

Full credit: Pamela has had the courage to do what most people will never do : to go back and unravel the past: the trauma, abuse, sexual exploitation and the insatiable craving to fill that interior black hole externally: starting with 6 failed marriages and going from there.
Time, silence, reflection and removal from the spotlight will continue to give Pamela time to heal and possibly conclude: externals do not fix that huge internal hole…..and will start to fill it with what matters: self love, respect, selfless acts of kindness, simple joy and peace. Wishing Pamela the very best and great respect for the work she has done on herself. Most people would prefer to blame rather than take time to quietly review, reassess and move forward on a different path. Bravo!

This piece brought me to tears. I am more a Pamela Anderson fan than ever. To hear from herself from a place of strength after a synopsis of the trauma of her life made me realize how easy it is to judge a book by it's cover. What an inspiring story. I'm 68 and thought I had settled into retirement, but to hear the challenge she took at 55 of acting, singing, and dancing without knowing if she could on Broadway, no less, is truly amazing! Thank you, Pamela, you've given me the courage to come out of my complacency, face some fears and stretch my boundaries.

I feel for Pamela Anderson. She seems like a nice, genuine person whose had a tough time finding real love. She needs to focus on healing herself and tapping into fixing the hurt. I'm rooting for you, Pam, that you get the hard work behind you within yourself and come out on the other side. I've been there myself. Sometimes you have to get away from the craziness of the outside world to do some deep soul searching to heal the childhood trauma that shapes who we are as an adult.

What an incredible journey. So messy right from childhood but she's so strong that she managed to get herself at the good place. This is very inspiring and I am so happy for her because there are a lot of people out there who don't make it.

I am very happy and proud of Ms. Pamela. This should be a lesson for younger folks coming up in show business or just deciphering life as you go along. Many of us have childhood trauma and when not sincerely dealt with be it through therapy or whatever helps you heal, recover and restore; it may possibly surface when you mature. Sometimes it may take that long to realize it's time to focus on oneself. My heart always hurts when someone speaks of childhood abuse or m**estation/r**e. I can see why she was determined to call the shots on how sexual she wanted to become in the limelight. It goes to show you whether rich, famous, poor, or infamous; we're all struggling to get to the next day. I'm glad she never harmed herself. There was always something pure and genuine about her that I always liked. Carry on and congratulations Ms. Pamela Anderson!

I’ve never seen anything Pamela Anderson has done but from what I saw in this interview, she’s had some very similar experiences that other women have had in Hollyweird. It also looks like she’s in a much better place. I wish her well.

I am so glad that she survived her family, and her trauma. Truly, I am happy for her. I was never a fan, because it was clear to me that she had been hurt, and I had a hard time watching people profit from her pain. BarbWire was my favorite, of her works. She was so fully powerful.
