The Game Awards should be about the people that make the games, not the people that play them imo. For me, there shouldn’t be awards around e-sports at all, it’s the wrong venue to give out those accolades.

It's the exploration, huge vibrant world, worthwhile discovery in every nook and cranny which is the game's strong suit, not the combat.

I also agree with Mike, maybe cut 2 or 3 reveals and show the awarding of some big achievements like art direction and stuff. Overall though, I will say that without a doubt this was a much improved Game Awards and for that I do think Keighley and his team deserve praise. One thing I will say tho, it is a little ironic that despite their criticisms, KF spent more time talking about the reveals than the awards...

Elden Ring Nightreign could absolutely be canon if you go by the story of Dark Souls 3, as that game is about the end of the world and as a result all the universes are converging on each other. Plus the souls games have always included other worlds, you see them everytime you invade someone or help someone out in coop.

As someone who hates woke stuff, girlbosses that are just mary sues, etc etc, you can easily see with the Witcher what channels/people are just trolls or fishing for views. Playing as Ciri next was the obvious direction. Makes sense from a plot, world building and character perspective. She's a great character and definitely not just a situation of "lets take james bond / indiana jones / etc but a girl!". There's lots to criticize hollywood / games that inauthentically go woke to try to capture a bigger audience , but witcher 4 is not an example of this. We should be welcoming GOOD strong female characters, not poo pooing them and being bigots for the sake of it.
