    That was a very honest assessment. Living in southern Italy is much less expensive. Thank goodness. Living here in Rhode Island is much much more. We have a house in so. Italy and hope to move there in a year.

    When we went to Italy in 2017, we stayed 3 weeks, and the grand total was about 5k$ CDN, for two people. That included everything : plane, lodging, activities, food. In 2019, it was around 5500$ CDN for roughly the same duration (20 days I believe) because we rented a car, and stayed in Cortina which is a bit pricier. We were surprised at how cheap it was.

    Interesting, I’m actually from Italy and I completely agree with you, but overall I think that to compare it at least with the UK is definitely cheaper 💓

    You say you spent a total of 730.50 e, but that doesn’t add up. 268 (groceries) + 407.50 (social) + 324.50 (rent/utilities) + 55 (trains) = 1055 e.😀. I think you forgot to add the rent/utilities to your total. Hope this doesn’t bum you out.

    Splendida come sempre :) il problema della Liguria è che rispetto ad altre regioni italiane ha un costo della vita elevato se paragonato al potere di acquisto dello stipendio medio..

    wait is it 1000 and some change ..or am I adding wrong?
    Either way it is a good cost of living..and good for you to review the budget to lower it if need be

    • @RivieraDreamer
      @RivieraDreamer  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      The total at the end is for spending (not including rent) so yes with the rent it’s around 1,000!

    Hi my name is Charlie I live in Massachusetts USA. I was considering Italy and still am to retire. I did watch a video of a guy saying it was between three and 500 for electric. He said he was forced to get cable even though he didn’t want it and he said the 500 included 50% taxes. Is this true? I don’t know what part of Italy he was in or if it’s everywhere in Italy? He said it was $200 more than his rent

      @@RivieraDreamer Oh good lord, love that place! Stayed in a B&B on Via Nino Bixio in 2017. The seafood restaurant right by the marina, where they serve the catch of the day for dirt cheap, was great.
